Genre-Fantasy Romance
Kindle Edition-277 Pages

When Kellan, Wolf King of the North, meets his fated mate, she is only a child. He immediately brokers a betrothal and, on the day after her 20th birthday, whisks her away to his castle in the Northland. Kellan is elated, believing he has everything he has ever wanted. His new wife, Nora, doesn’t quite share the same sentiment.

Before Kellan has time to court her, Nora is attacked. An ancient brotherhood refuses to allow an heir of one kingdom onto the throne of another. All four factions in the land of Imperium appear to be involved in a surreptitious struggle for power … while Nora hides a few secrets of her own.

***The Wolf King’s Bride is the first book in the Fate of Imperium Series. Each book is the story of a different king and his fated mate. While the three books do not have to be read in order, it is highly recommended.

The Wolf King's Bride (Fate of Imperium, #1)

The Wolf King’s Bride by C.A. Worley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Copy of Copy of The Love Detective
I have never read anything by this particular before but as this sounded so intriguing on paper I decided to take a chance and have a stab at it.
I am always a trifle nervous when trying on a new writer for size what with the whole will we be a fit and am I going to like this; especially when I also have to also write a review at the end of my experience.
I am extremely happy to report that I loved “The Wolf Kings Bride” like a whole lot and I will definitely be sticking around to read the next instalment in this fascinating new fantasy series.
So, this is a stand-alone love story with an extremely heartfelt HEA.
Each book in this series is cleverly interwoven to feature at its centre a different couple but all threads are connected together to form a much larger overall picture.
Here in this first instalment, we are introduced to this exciting new paranormal fantasy world and we get to learn about the separate powerful factions that together make up the lands of Imperium.
Elementals, Wolves, Demons and vampires.
In “The Wolf Kings Bride” the story itself centres on Kellan Wolf King Of The North and his fated mate Nora; the daughter to Kind Edward king of the Elementals.
Almost instantly here I was invested in the larger picture.
Fabulous centre characters combined with romance, intrigue and action make this such an incredibly easy read to lose and immerse yourself in.
This story played out against such a rich creative backdrop assisting in the overall ambience almost transporting me away to a whole new dimension.
This in itself really helped to set the scene so splendidly here.
This has so much to offer in terms of content and I was so invested here that I managed to read this book in one complete sitting.
I adored Kellan; if I’m honest he was my favourite, he had just the right amount of adorability crossed with his Alpha tendencies and I was hooked line and sinker on his brash bashfulness.
Nora for the most part I liked; she did have some slight annoyances to her nature that bugged me at times but I overlooked this slightly as I really did devour everything else about this story.
She eventually did see the light and overcome this so all was good in the end.
I also really liked where we left things here and can’t wait to see what direction this series will take us next.
I believe next up we have Nora’s sister Eden and the Heartless King (King of the vampires) I really can’t wait.
This one gets a wholehearted seal of approval from moi, Ive been reading a lot of dark stories lately and it made such a delicious change to just kick back and feel the love for once and this is one tale that delivers on that softer emotion in spades but while still also managing to fulfil fully on all else.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “The Wolf King’s Bride (Fate of Imperium, #1)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Never trust a pretty face. My grandma taught me that. She warned me about the Fair Folk but I never believed her…until I was kidnapped by one. And damn, he is pretty.
But Fin was sent to bring me to his King, and if I want to survive the Otherworld, I have no choice but to trust him – for now.
Oh, and did I mention my sexy best friend is hunting me? I should’ve listened to Gran.

Cursed Rebel review banner (1)

I enjoyed Cursed Rebel a lot; it was an action-packed foray into the world of faerie; one that I really found ever so entertaining.
This being my first book by this particular author I wasn’t quite sure what to expect so I’m pleased to say that I easily managed to lose myself in the rich otherworldly landscape portrayed here so vividly.
The excellent world building was a huge positive for “Cursed Rebel” the author has managed quite splendidly to build and describe this alternate backdrop in such vivid detail that I could quite easily picture in my head this colourful terrain we have been introduced to here.
The story centres on Fin and Lucy and the events that unfold after he kidnaps her and transports her to Faerie, where he is under a compulsion to deliver Lucy to the king.
There are also other players underfoot; one especially that has been keeping a big secret from Lucy.
So, Not knowing quite who to trust, but needing her guides as she won’t last one minute alone in this beautiful but brutal land Lucy tries to make the best of her current situation.
So why not a higher rating from me: look I really did find this a delightful read but I did have some slight issues with the beginning and the end of this story.
This for me affected my final rating.
Don’t mistake me this was still a solid experience but I did find the beginning here slightly rushed, I felt there wasn’t much build up to the actual main event.
There was just no backstory or building up of Lucy’s everyday life before she finds herself in faerie, I felt we just skimmed the surface and didn’t really get a sense of her and her tribe and I did feel this was a slightly missed opportunity.
I would have liked to have delved deeper into Lucy’s life pre Fin.
I also felt the ending here was slightly rushed: like something was ultimately missing from the final recipe.
Thankfully I had no issues elsewhere with the rest of this story, the rest of this was grand and did manage to pull me in, captivating my imagination and retaining my interest very easily.
so despite the above, this was for me still a great entertaining read that I am happy to give a thumbs up to.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Cursed Rebel” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

🌹BOOK REVIEW🌹

Release Date-28th August 2018
Genre-Fantasy Romance
Kindle Edition-203 Pages

Aldora lived in a bordertown on the edge of the maze. A labyrinth that spanned an eternity filled with creatures that howled through the night. She was a daughter to farmers that worked the fields and endured a quiet life as a peasant, away from the capital and its nihilistic celebrations; away from all that would look at her and discern her worth. Because to be chosen as a sacrifice was to be chosen to die. Until one night, while at the edge, she heard a husky voice in the darkness.

Vedikus Bathyr.
He prowled the overgrown passages at the farthest edges where the true, intelligent beasts roamed. They were all there for the same reasons: to kill each other and capture the humans that entered the labyrinth.

On one fated night a human girl called out to him. A girl with a voice that quickened his blood. But he wasn’t the only one to hear her call…

Minotaur is a dark fantasy romance with explicit violence and possible triggers. Mature readers only.

Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1)

Minotaur: Blooded by Naomi Lucas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

cropped-minotaur-banner-2
There was nothing hearts and roses in any shape or form about this story; in fact, it was more in my opinion about claiming and animalistic lust.
It was also if I’m being honest a trifle strange in content, so you know what it was absolutely inevitable that I was going to bloody love this.
I adore the weird and wacky and that is definitely what we are given here in spades.
This is a strange unapologetic romp filled with bloody gore and extremely graphic and carnal copulation.
Look this is going to be an acquired taste folks a bit like marmite; love or hate it people this is one that your not likely to forget in a bloody hurry.
If your easily offended or shocked then probably better to walk on by here.
Myself being a bit of a perve I found myself a spot and immediately got comfy; immersing myself fully in this unusual and strangely hot story.
Have to say this was my first minotaur romance; I have done centaur (I loved that also; see self-confessed perve here)
But here I did surely pop my cherry in all things, Bull.
I say romance lightly here as we actually have precious little of that, this is much more raw and primal in nature than romantic overtures and heartfelt declarations.
I also didn’t actually find this that dub-con in nature this to me just screamed more heavy seduction rather than rapey.
Also, this is in no shape or form bestiality either I mean yeh technically the guy has hooves and a big bull dong and even horns but the dude walks upright and can reason and talk so in my book he’s hardly there chewing the cud in a field now is he.
By that token, all shapeshifter romances would be reclassified wouldnt they.
So In “Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1)” the story is relatively simple Aldora living in a border town gets herself thrown into the Labyrinth.
Vedikus a Minotaur in the ways of his people takes Aldora for his own keeping her alive from all that would do her harm (Other than himself of course) within the labyrinth.
Determining to claim her for his mate he is willing to maim and destroy anyone who dares try to take his prize away from him.
And that’s it really; its actually quite a simple concept but I really did work.
So Vedikus himself did kind of grow on me and though Aldora did very swiftly accept her fate here I found I didn’t have it in me to care that much, this really for me was pure unadulterated fantasy at its very best and I devoured every wicked scenario I was given gladly.
The only reason I marked this down to a four rather than a five is I would have liked to have seen a bit more of them actually settled as a couple when they reached Vedikus’s home other than that I was a happy camper.
I will definitely be indulging in the next book in this series Minotaurs are now my new flavour of strange but sexy.
I borrowed Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1) with my KU subscription.

I really enjoyed this like so much from the second I picked this up I was invested and enthralled.
“Bewitching Sloth” is a fantastic start to an imaginative new paranormal series that focus on the seven sins.
These sins have been bestowed on the children of the Grim Reaper.
Seven siblings each carrying an individual stain gifted by the devil himself.
This first instalment we join Isabella Wen; a powerful witch who just happens to be on the run from an evil entity and Sebastian Reaper oldest son and keeper of Sloth.
From the onset here we are flung right into the action, in fact, this was manic form the first page.
With incredible one-liners, fantastic world building and incredible humour, this book delivers on all fronts.
Overall this was such an easy read with extremely likeable characters and as an added bonus the side cast was also exceptionally intriguing also; I can honestly say Im looking forward to each and every story that was hinted at here.
“Bewitching Sloth” set the stage here so nicely for the unfolding drama and I am already its avid audience.
I really can’t wait to see what this series is going to bring to the table.
This one’s a no-brainer for me; Read it, you definitely won’t be disappointed; I guarantee you this.
Five very well deserved Stars.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-5/6/18

I absolutely bloody adored Beyond The Pain (The Beyond Series Book 1) like just so much it’s unreal.
So. this was a bit of a genre switch for myself and while I do read the occasional Crime mystery this one was in a class all of its own.
It had a Mystery Crime Sleuth vibe to it; also accompanied by a huge splash of the Paranormal.
So it has been a while since I indulged in this particular cross-genre and In my opinion, this was an excellent book to get back on the horse with.
It Drew me in straight from the very beginning; teasing my senses with its intriguing agenda and surprising even myself with how fast I could devour a book.
“Beyond The Pain” tells the tale of Colton Monroe a gifted but troubled psychic; almost a pariah in his small town because of his strange abilities and unwanted gifts.
When a local girl “Lana Turner” goes missing Colton’s astounding abilities are called into play.
Working with a detective on the Chaumont police department payroll Colton employs all his varied talents to help bring Lana back home to her family.
Calling on depths of strength he was unaware he had; Colton is not only saving himself but also beginning a journey of discovery; (his destiny even) and once on this particular path; he will be committed to the destination; wherever it may lead him.
So this was so good; I especially adored the banter between our two main characters.
The back and fourthness of there repertoire was so amusing and brought a smile to my face often.
There was also such hidden depths to many of the characters portrayed here; Carlton especially was very proficient at hiding his inner turmoil and feelings; portraying an almost confidence and togetherness he was so far from actually feeling.
Using this mask as a shield to protect himself from the outside world Carlton has perfected the art of hiding in plain sight.
There is still so much left to discover here; question and answers to be asked and fulfilled and I am so invested in the next leg of this addictive new series.
This was the first book in this series and I’m so interested in seeing where this is eventually going to proceed.
With all the reveals and revelations we were treated to here in “Beyond The Pain” its certainly going to be an interesting and informative ride.
This is one story that gets my wholehearted seal of approval; It was such a great read that kept me guessing throughout.
Oh and I should just mention this is not a romance it’s more of a supernatural crime Mystery.

Release Date-26/7/16

So this was a difficult one for me, on the one hand, I did finish Her Legacy.
But on the other, I found it a struggle to actually get there.
Even skimming in places.
It was only my sheer pig-headed determination that got me to that ultimate end post.
I was so determined to finish this wanting to discover where this was ultimately heading.
Unfortunately for me, I discovered upon arriving at my destination that this book had an actual sequel.
And I’m sorry to say that this is one ride that I won’t be continuing on to the next stop with.
Don’t get me wrong the premise behind this book was actually very interesting and up until the halfway point here I was still somewhat invested in the whole nine yards.
But Somewhere in the middle of this things went slightly to pot for me and this wasn’t working its mojo on me anymore.
So there were a few things here that I found issue with that then managed to derail things somewhat for me.
First Alexis herself, I found her character to be a bit of an odd-duck.
She was described in the context of taking no shit and of being of a feisty nature.
Well, I got the impression that the actual opposite was true, she was constantly hyperventilating and fainting and came across as being of a delicate constitution, very eighteenth-century lady/
Damsel in distress.

tenor.gif

Tucker and Daniel seemed to be her constant wingmen.
Which was a bloody strange happening in itself considering one was her ex and the other her brand new squeeze.
I also wasn’t really that invested in Daniel and Alexia’s relationship I just wasn’t feeling the love if I’m honest, sorry.
I also became quite confused in places as well and found myself having to re-read certain passages to orient myself within the story-line.
There was sometimes too much attention to detail and I would become distracted by the narrative which in itself was of a rather flowery nature.
For example, there were whole chapters dedicated to furniture placement it was such overkill and was also so tedious.
There really was no need for so much extra padding here.
It was not necessary and just lengthened what was already an extremely long read.
All without adding anything substantial to the overall plot.
Also, at times there was such character overload that I had difficulty keeping individuals straight in my head.
And for some weird obscure reason, everyone seemed to have a thing for Alexia like she was some kind of Love goddess.
So this was a bit of a mixed bag of tricks for me.
I really wish I could give this a higher rating overall.
“Her Legacy” wasn’t in itself awful, just a bit of a slog for me with a writing style that just wasn’t really my bag at all.
This still did have a fantastic supernatural gothicy feel to it and the overall ideas used here were still imaginative and made for an intriguing blurb.
Just a shame that ultimately this just wasn’t really my thing.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with a copy of “Her Legacy (The Foster House Legacy #1)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

ARC-BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-27/2/18

So this is the first book I have read by this author and I found it an enjoyable experience.
Eternal Desire is a Paranormal romance involving Witches and Shifters and arch-angels.
Three witches to be precise.
All cursed to die young because of previous events.
And I’m assuming each sister witch here is going to be given their own particular tale as I noticed further story-lines being set up for at least one of them.
Eternal Fire itself involved Izzy and Grant.
Izzy is a witch and Grant a made shifter with a pack.
These two are like oil and water neither paranormal species usually co-existing also there magic is so different so to find a mate like this is unheard off.
Also to further complicate matters the girls have a price on their head and Grants pack has been tasked with the hit on them.
Also, interwoven into this picture is the love story of Isolde and Tristan the one of legend.
Both were under a previous love spell and in one of Izzy’s past lives, her heart was laid bare and broken from this leaving her unwilling to take a chance on Grant and risk her heart again.
So with her curse hanging over her, Izzy has battened down her hatches.
Unwilling to allow love to break her for the second time.
Tristan himself does pop up here to further stir the pot and muddy the waters.
but Eternal desire mainly involves Grant trying to protect Izzy from his pack.
And Izzy not surprisingly fighting him every step of the way.
So, Grant, I liked but there were times he annoyed me like when he considered giving up Izzy

BAD BAD WOLF!!!

tumblr_n40vokAyaS1s9lm88o1_500.gif

Izzy I found was very indecisive and I did find this a trifle annoying at times just make up your mind girl.
Overall taking everything into consideration though I did like both main characters.
They were real with quirks and faults that made them seem more human.
I found the storyline here to be easy to follow there were a few inconsistencies in regards to plot like wolves being turned to ash and then resurrected.
But reading another review this is going to be corrected in the finished product.
I was reading an ARC here so was prepared for some minor errors.
I’m assuming this book is part of a bigger series and this is a spin-off, don’t let that put you off this can totally be read as a standalone.
I found this to be a hot read and you could definitely feel the chemistry between Izzy and Grant.
So, in conclusion, this was a fun paranormal read that kept my attention throughout.
I was provided with an ARC of “Eternal Desire (Siren Coven, #1) ” By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.

So “Beauty and the vampire” was one I was really looking forward to.
Not only was the cover of this book visually stunning it was one that the blurb really intrigued me.
capturing my attention then reeling me in.
The idea of a vampiric beauty and the beast, which just so happens to be one of my favourite Disney stories, really appealed to me in every way.
So Cheerleader Bel with her mum AWOL and her best friend and crush flirting it up elsewhere finds herself on the Eve of her 17th birthday transported to an alternate world.
the underground Onyx City where she is now a vessel for creatures of the night and property of the royal house itself.
A place Where magic abounds and Vampires rule.
So when Bel trespasses in the royal gardens she comes to the attention of the vampire prince, Ezra Blade.

 photo 4e880cd969804b166ca9636dcc7eb7bb_zpse7oajkph.jpg

So this was a tale of two halves for me.
I loved the first half of this book and was disappointed in the second.
I felt that this should have been longer and there was so much more that could have been made of this fantastically fresh idea.
There were Ideas that were put forward but not always explained like the Infirmary, it was such a chilling concept but not expanded on.
A missed opportunity for sure.
I also felt too much was made of Ezra’s first love being totally beyond compare totally making Bel seem like the consolation prize.
Even the ending here when he doesn’t express verbally the same sentiments back at Bel shows a lack of commitment on Ezra’s part.
I felt overall the second half of this was rushed and so much more could have been achieved here.
The finish also I found to be very abrupt indeed.
Don’t get me wrong I did enjoy this, it was just disappointing that this reality hadn’t been expanded on in more depth.
A shame as the world building here was fantastic.
One other slight nitpick I would have liked to see the mums fate as she was a class A Biotch who needed exterminating.
“Beauty and the vampire” could do with a bit of an overall and the ending ekeing out a bit.
If that was done I can guarantee a higher rating from me.
I met in the middle when it came to rating this, three stars.
I would definitely read a follow-on to this as I’m curious where this could go.
And as I said earlier this is a greatly imaginative idea.
So I was provided with an ARC of “Beauty and the Vampire” By Netgalley of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Shakira had never felt at home growing up in Surrey, but as soon as she entered the quaint Welsh village she knew she belonged. Maybe it was because of the welcoming villagers. Or perhaps it was the presence of the others whom she sensed nearby; the ones she saw in her dreams, with their strange glowing eyes.

Fate is not always kind. It gives with one hand and takes with the other. There is a reason she didn’t grow up with her own kind.

A rich tale of witchcraft, fae, sorcery, Elinefae and dragons; this is a story for all who dare to believe.

Now available as a paperback as well as ebook

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟STARS
So I absolutely adored Love Bites (Darkness & Light Duology, #1) by T.L. Clark and I really can’t wait to get started on the second book.
I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever read anything this different Love Bites has a uniqueness to it that I haven’t seen in a while.
A freshness to a paranormal/fantasy theme that I haven’t encountered before.
I read a lot and can honestly say this is the first time I have encountered this idea.
Here we are dealing with basically evolved felines.
Elinefae to give this race of unique individuals their correct name.
Basically, a race of cat-people who have kept their selves separate from the world almost lost in another time if you regard their lack of technology and how they live in Dens underground.
Clans of Elinefae who are basically forbidden to mix with humans each clan having the aid of a witch.
And into this strict hemisphere of controlled populace comes Shakira searching for something she’s not quite sure of just following her inner psyche until she lands in a small welsh village beginning a journey that has been in the reckoning for nigh on twenty years.
In the process Setting in motion a ball that cannot be stopped in its momentum gathering speed along the way.
Until all of Shakira’s questions are finally answered.
So as I said earlier this is so fresh and unique Love Bites is filled with all sorts of magical creatures a lot would do Kiera harm given the opportunity (Kiera is Shakira’s new chosen name on account of Pryderi being unable to pronounce Shakira.)
Pryderi is?
well, Maybe you should pick this up and give this a go and found out for yourself.
I Guarantee you Pryderi is all sorts of fascinating.
And you so won’t be bored this was such an easy engaging read with fantastic world building and a truly unique experience all-round.
I read this so fast I was that engrossed and lost in this fascinating original world.
So Love Bites is filled with witches, fairies sirens, warlocks the list goes on and on.
This is a magical extravaganza that I really enjoyed and didn’t want to end.
So to finish up this was a great read that I highly recommend.
I was gifted a copy of “Love Bites” (Darkness & Light Duology, #1) from the Author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

🌼ARC-BOOK-REVIEW🌼

Release Date-5th December 2017
Genre-Post-Apocalyptic Paranormal Suspense
Publisher-St. Martin’s Press
Kindle Edition-432 Pages

In her newest work, the stunning beginning to an epic hardcover trilogy, #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts weaves an enthralling saga of suspense, survival, and the journey that will unite a desparate group of people to fight the battle of their lives…

The sickness came on suddenly and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed—and more than half of the world’s population was decimated.

And as the power of science and technology receded, magic rose up in its place. Some of it is good, like the witchcraft worked by Lana Bingham, practising in the loft apartment she share with her lover, Max. Some of it is unimaginably evil, and it can lurk anywhere, around a corner, in fetid tunnels beneath the river—or in the ones you know and love the most. As word spreads that neither the immune nor the gifted are safe from the authorities who patrol the ravaged streets, Lana and Max make their way out of a wrecked New York City. At the same time, other travellers are heading west too, into a new frontier.

In a world of survivors where every stranger encountered could be either a savage or a saviour, none of them knows exactly where they are heading, or why. But a purpose awaits them that will shape their lives and the lives of all those who remain.

The end has come. The beginning comes next

Year One (Chronicles of The One #1)Year One by Nora Roberts

🌟🌟🌟1/2 STARS
So it’s safe to say Year One (Chronicles of The One #1) by Nora Roberts was one I was really looking forward to I was really excited when I got the ARC of this, like jumping up and down excited.
That is until I started and realised what a slog this was going to be for me.
Not because this was awful, it so wasn’t, It was just I couldn’t gel and was actually finding reading this a chore.
Anyone who knows’s me knows I devour books in one sitting and this took me eleven days to get finished which is a lot for me.
So Year one is a post-apocalyptic supernatural exstravaganza.
And this may have been my issue I would have prefered one or the other, for me, the two together didn’t quite work.
“Year one” shows the breakdown in society when a virus labelled DOOM! decimates the worldwide population.
As the world, as we know it, starts to disintegrate new factions spring up clawing there way out of the resulting chaos.
Of the five million dead, Mankind and the newly emerged magic kind, regroup into factions of light versus dark.
The wickedness of mankind, that has previously hidden behind a persona, soon becomes apparent in the decimated population left behind.
And It’s also a new world filled with all sorts of magical creatures both light and dark.
“Year One” itself follows different cloisters of individuals, analysing their daily struggles as they ultimately all eventually convene in the collective effort of the town they have aptly named “New Hope”.
I’m not entirely sure why I struggled so much with this as Year One was very well written and I have also enjoyed various Nora Roberts works before.
analysing it I think it may have been the hopping between characters that was an issue for me. although I do understand why it was done this way, Pieces of a puzzle all eventually connecting.
All roads ultimately leading to New Hope.
But I found this style of writing had me ultimately failing to connect with the characters.
As soon as I had sat down and got comfy things were changing directions for me it was making me giddy all the swift changes involved here.
I also found the many different individuals introduced somewhat confusing to behold, I would have to stop and think or check back pages to work out who they were.
I found this aspect very distracting indeed.
But despite my gripes, I did finish this I’m just not yet sure if I’m invested enough to continue on to the next book in this series.
On the one hand, I would really like to see what happens next in regards to Lana, but I’m just not sure that I’m invested enough to keep me going. I will have to decide nearer to the time.
Year One, I imagine will be a solid hit with many, for me, it just failed to live up to my expectations.
Thank You to NetGalley for proving me with an ARC of Year One by Nora Roberts of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
