BLURB:

One Rose.
One prisoner.
A crime boss.
… and a man determined to overthrow him.

All I wanted was to help women. Free them of their demons. Until he walks in. See, the treatment centre I worked at was my home. The only one I’d known since I was seventeen.

I knew we’d opened a men’s unit. I got the honour of being head tech. He was a criminal. I was warned, prepared, professional. I knew it’d be hard… because of who my father is. I thought I was prepared.

I was anything but prepared.
I was taken.
Treasured.
Twisted by a criminal I swore I would never love.

Two love stories wrapped up in crime. In blood. Delivery.

Trigger Warning: This is a DARK romance. There is language, violence, sexual content and abuse.

Author Note: There IS a cliffhanger in this book, BUT the sequel is coming out in just a couple weeks. Pre-order will be live May 5th

This was an enjoyable read that for me was slightly swings and roundabouts in nature.
There were some things here that I loved; while others not so much.
It had an extremely unique style of narration using four separate POV’s rather than the more common one or two and rather than concentrating on just one individual couple here we get the added bonus of two; who each seem to share the spotlight equally.
This was a very unique concept that I haven’t seen used that often.
A two-fer if you will.
The style of storytelling used here I initially found a trifle confusing, it did eventually start to grow on me and while I did feel a tad more connected to Sven and Rose, as the story unfolded Boss and Lacy also started to dig deeper and start to burrow beneath my skin.
So why not a higher star rating?
Well, I did struggle somewhat with the brutality depicted here and my final rating does reflect this slightly.
I do like my dark fiction but for some reason here I had issues wrapping my head around Boss’s actions towards Lacy; his complete disconnect to Lacy as a fellow human being and his single-minded focus on his own personal goals at the expense of Lacy was really difficult to comprehend or even understand.
It wasn’t even that the abuse happened, after all, I went into this with my eyes wide open.
Its that It came at the hands of the man who is essentially her future heart.
And yes I have read this type of thing before in my dark fiction its just Boss seemed to take it to a whole new level of extreme that shocked even me.
This was hardcore abuse that I found difficult to process and I just couldn’t find it in my heart to forgive him for his incomprehensible actions towards Lacey.
He essentially broke her which I found unforgivable.
And no it doesn’t give you a free pass if someone else is inflicted your orders.
There carrying out your wishes so your still ultimately responsible.
In some ways, it’s worse.
I found Sven and Rose while initially starting this a much more likeable proposition.
He even internalises that he couldn’t treat Rose this way.
I also should mention this ends on a cliffhanger which whilst not bothering me just thought I’d pre-warn you.
I think the next Installment is already out anyway.
At its essence “Roses and Thorns” is an interesting dark read that really pushed my boundaries far past what I was comfortable with.
This can be good or bad depending on your perception and mindset as sometimes we need to experience things outside of our compact little boxes.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be continuing on here as I’m afraid I definitely reached my hard limit with the treatment of Lacy.
I’m not going to recommend this, either way, it all depends on your own personal dark barometer.
Just be aware going in that this is rather upsetting in places.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Roses and Thorns” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

🌹BOOK REVIEW🌹

Release Date-2nd May 2018
Genre-Erotic Horror
Kindle Edition-381 Pages

Book 1: My name is Faith: Tortured sex slave turned brutal murderer. Men have abused my body for inhuman pleasures, hurt me and made me feel helpless. But now…

They fear me. I wish I could say that it is all for the good of the world that I kill them slowly and give them a taste of what they have made others feel, but that would be a lie. Turns out, I have a lust for blood and get off on making THEM my slave. They may be way past being offended at that point, but I sure enjoy my living dead boys.

Just one small problem. I am falling for my newest conquest and don’t know anymore if I want to tie him up and kill him slowly. He supposedly sexually assaulted a woman horribly ten years ago and is currently on parole for the crime, but something about those genuine sea green eyes and that beguiling mouth makes me weak. I still want to tie him up but what I want to do to him- will make us both scream.

Something about his darkness and pain calls to my own, and he knows I could kill him at any time, but still fights to possess me in every dripping, consuming and tantalizing way.

Come inside if you dare where real sex slave stories are my inspiration and I’ll tell you the story of a serial murderess and the life altering events that made her a Lover of the Dead.

Book 2: How can I admit to myself that I have fallen for the one thing I fear the most? I should kill him, as I have visited bloody death on many others just like him but…

Instead I have let him inside me. Deeply, painfully and with all-consuming psychotic passion. My body hums when he hurts it, as he’s brought out a hidden side of me that thrives off his rough touch. I have never felt so alive.

Here he is by my side as we travel the country, staying in the finest hotels and savagely getting revenge on those who have sexually tortured me. What a ride. Kill, rough sex. Try to kill each other, more rough sex… And repeat.

But something changes my dark lover with each kill and I fear I will lose him forever. The blood thirsty beast he struggles to keep locked up within thrashes against its cage, and I don’t know how much time we have left together. Oh, but I WILL make the most of it.

Book 3: My enemy becomes my lover…

“Please let me go,” I say.
He takes a deep breath. “I can’t. Why don’t you see that you are meant for me? You’re a killer, you’re a sexual predator, and my dark soul demands I take yours. I need to **** your body mercilessly and make you scream from beneath me. I have no choice because I’ve never wanted anything so bad.”
His lips move to ear. “Say you want me, Faith.” He sucks my neck into his mouth and the ache feels good. He leaves bruises. “I will do anything.”
I cringe and stare into nothingness. This is my way out. If he has become obsessed with me because I escaped him years ago, because his best friend wants me, and because I challenge him, then I can use it to escape. I refocus and allow my demoness to take hold. “I shouldn’t want you James.”
He moves inside me, lifting me up and forcing me back down over his thickness and I cry out. “But you do,” he breathes.
I won’t make it that easy. “You excite me. You make my body sing and scream at the same time.” His **** rubs through me igniting incredible sensations and I haven’t lied to him yet. “I want you,” I say breathlessly. He feels so good because this is so bad and my sanity is being pushed to the limit. I run my fingers across the shaved sides of his head and rip his blond hair backward. I ride him hard. “You’re beautiful,” I say, trying to breathe. “Because you tear me to pieces.”
He grasps my hips, the killer who has never gotten off without hurting a woman first, and digs his fingers into my flesh. With a desperate kiss, his eyes roll back and his body tenses in anticipation.

Serial Murderess Series

so I’m going to do things a bit different here and review all three books in the Serial Murderess Series together but giving my brief impression on each instalment.
So I’m not normally one for trigger warnings but with this, you need one; this is dark depraved sick stuff proceed with caution.
If like me that sentence is like honey to a bee just be aware that at times this was even a bit too much for me and that’s something I don’t usually say.
There is Rape, murder, torture, necrophilia, cannibalism the list goes on and on so please do take my warning seriously there is the blackest stuff imaginable between these pages.
So this is a hard one, on the one hand, I love to push the boundaries of my tolerances, but here I wasn’t just giving them a nudge I was flat out annihilating and totally flattening everything in its path.
So If you want to just dip your toe into darker waters this isn’t the series to start with; this is completely hardcore.
This series is mainly told from the POV of Faith herself a product of her horrific life experiences in her case a history of rape, torture and slavery.
This girl has some serious issues which have resulted in her fascination with blood and death.
She’s a self-made serial killer who preys on the predators themselves.
Her moral compass is so off course when it comes to dispensing her own personal brand of justice.
So what happens when this necrophilia loving serial killer meets what could be her match made in heaven.
I’m gonna stop you right there; this is not a romance; this is so far from the warm and fuzzies than your ever going to get; Brandon the male interest here, is so not what I would even label; what we like to call an anti-hero.
This is more a psychotic bloody Bonnie and Clyde type journey cross country where Faith and Brandon embark on an all-out pilgrimage to annihilate every person that has ever hurt Faith in the most imaginative ways possible.
The go-to phrase these two start to employ.

This is going to be the most fun we’ve had yet

But this is also a downward spiral into the Pitts of insanity and what happens when you give your demons such a free rein.

The Darkness in Faith
is the onset of the journey where we learn what shapes our two lovers into the individuals they have evolved into.
This is perhaps the mildest of the three books almost a build up to more gruesome events.
It’s still bloody graphic as hell though so be prepared for anything.
In This instalment, we leave Brandon and Faith ready for there mission ahead.

Darkly Dreaming Faith
Portrays there antics as each kill goes down more each imaginative than the last.
Brandon and Faith fall deeper down the rabbit hole with each occurrence sending Brandon on a downward spiral into insanity.
In fact, here it becomes very apparent that Brandon is so much more than he has previously revealed to his new partner in death.
Finally culminating in Faith through self-preservation contemplating going rogue on his butt.

Vicious Faith
The final book in the trilogy and perhaps the most graphic and depraved of all three.
Here all roads come to a head and number five on Faiths list “Gas Mask” in dramatic style manages to turn the tables on Faith.
This was my favourite of the three books and though there where things I had kinda guessed previously here; there were still many shocks that snuck up and caught me unawares.
I adored the shocking conclusion we were given here.
It had an almost karmic justice to it.
Here is where we discover that there are no heroes only predators and events do come full circle in such a shocking finale.

This is not a romance.
There are no heroes in this trilogy only innocents and evil.
This was not easy reading at times but I persevered as I wanted to know the final outcome.
My rating here really reflects my unease with the content matter involved.
“The serial Murderess series” itself really pushed the envelope with me in regards to my comfort levels.
It’s an unapologetic jaunt through a dissolute and perverted playground.
Where everything good and wholesome has been stripped back to the bone and the only thing left behind is viciousness and cruelty.
Enter if you dare but be warned the passage your about to traverse is anything but pretty.
The road ahead of you is paved in blood and tears.
I’m not going to give this a yay or a nay just a give this a go if you think you can handle it and prepare to be appaled.
And again remember my original caution.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Serial Murderess Series” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

There’s a monster in my basement.

That isn’t a metaphor, in case you were wondering. And it isn’t the tagline to some midnight horror flick. Fact is, Locryn Price is nothing if not a monster. One part human, the other part demon, the guy’s got a slab of ice where his heart should be.

Ironic, considering the rest of him is hot enough to start a fire underwater.

Not exactly what I was expecting to find when I came home from college to surprise my brother. I mean, I always knew Russell was a little warped, but now we have a pissed-off, wisecracking demon in shackles and chains as proof.

The October winds are stirring, bringing more than just storms. Two of our friends are missing. Loc knows something, but he isn’t talking. And to complicate matters further, my former crush Max has joined forces with my brother. They think they’ll get answers using spells and pentacles and brute torture.

But the devil prefers to bargain.

My innocence in exchange for the hostages. Those are his terms.

Now I’m in his world. A world of demons, deception and the sweetest of seductions.

And losing my way in the darkness never felt so good.

AEC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-18/7/18

After reading that hooking blurb there was no way I was passing this up it all sounded just so deliciously enticing.
And so often these things do disappoint us; failing to deliver on the promised attraction, but not here; this is one story I’m happy to impart that definitely lives up to its hype in every way possible.
Almost instantly upon starting this I was sold and invested for the whole duration “The price of Brimstone” managed to enthral and capture my attention just so effortlessly.
Weaving such an intricate web of misinformation and manipulation all wrapped up so prettily with a side-order of romance and a dash of devilish intent.
Being a new author for me so I wasn’t really sure what to expect here but it was all good and I’m pleased to say I was greatly entertained by this.
So the description here says it all there’s a monster or if you will Demon in Judes basement.
Placed there by her brother Russel and his friend Max so they can attempt to harvest information on the whereabouts of two of there friends.
And after Her brother’s extreme methods of inducement, Jude decides to covertly use her own powers of persuasion with much superior results.
But is she being played by a master manipulator, a demon deceiver and is there a greater power at play here moving its pieces in a macabre chess match; only time and Loc himself has the answer.
So I loved this so much. it was such an unusual tale that really stands out in its genre.
Locryn Price; well in my opinion though this is told from Jude’s perspective apart from a small part at the end (which I adored by the way; so typical Loc) this is his book.
Loc is the standout character that made this such an intriguing read for me without him; well there is just no real pull.
He had all the best one-liners and with his acerbic derisive wit, I couldn’t help panting after him tongue hanging out along with Jude herself as he attempted to transverse the rocky road of his own disinterested humanity.
With his unapologetic askew moral compass, It was then fascinating to spectate as Jude tried to see the best and hone in on his more human attributes.
Sometimes with a lot more success than others.
So amusing being a fly on the wall as Jude tries to explain the concept of Love To a less than impressed Loc.
So this wasn’t major fast paced and was quite a slow drawn out story but it seemed to work.
Managing to build up the anticipation just so nicely.
Amazingly humorous instances combined with an almost intensity at times make “The price of Brimstone” so utterly readable.
I adored the haunted carousel episode with the horses; the internal imagery this inspired within with its vivid prose setting the scene so splendidly.

Nightmares are only dreams that have grown bored of the monotony. They’re so much more interesting if you ask me.

Whether or not they’re bad depends on your point of view. To some nightmares consist of chaos and macabre imagery. That’s why people fear them. You see they don’t appreciate the thrill, the adrenaline rush of not knowing whats going to happen next. What sort of person are you, Judith? Do you embrace your nightmares? or do you run from them?

This was quite a long read in itself but I didn’t find myself drifting as It easily held my attention throughout.
There were not that many developed side characters really only Russel and Max and if I’m honest neither was much to write home about.
Russell himself was such a whiny tantrum throwing brat; just so needed a biotch-slap and Max, well he was just a bit MEH!.
Next, to Locryn he just seemed like such a wet blanket.
Besides these two there was only really Sky. Owen and a few lesser demons.
The main focus here really stays on Jude and Loc throughout which definitely does work.

I only really had some teensy grievances here that caused me to drop half a star and there only minor personal preferences.
I wasn’t struck on the ending here and would have prefered an alternative to what we were given.
I can’t really say much more as have no wish to spoil this for anyone.
I would also have liked to have been subjected to more of Loc’s POV; I’m not the biggest fan of the type of storytelling where we only get one viewpoint, much preferring dual.
As I said earlier we did get a snippet near the end but that was so not enough; it only whet my appetite for more.
So that’s it really; this for me was a fabulous read that I can’t recommend enough.
I would definitely read more Locryn, in fact, I would go as far as to say I need to with that bittersweet finale.
Team Loc all the way for me; I really would love to read more about this fascinating Demon.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-13/6/18

“Sage’s Surrender” is the first book I have read by this author and while I did ultimately enjoy this; I also had some slight issues as well.
So my positives first; This was an age-gap romance which is one of my all-time favourite tropes.
I really can’t get enough of this type of story; it’s a real guilty pleasure of mine in romance fiction.
This was well-written and very engaging and had a great cast of characters that kept me invested and entertained throughout.
It was told in dual POV; which I prefer and had just the right balance of action, suspense and angst to pique my interest.
In my opinion, though part of the Hell’s Riders series this can definitely be read as a standalone; I did no issues and I easily followed along.
This was a relatively easy read and despite this being set in an MC Club; I didn’t find it especially that dark either.
Don’t get me wrong; there was a definite stain here, but my depravity meter is actually set way-way high, probably due to all the disturbing stuff I actually inhale; so by my standards, this was actually relatively tame in comparison.
I also was really digging sage’s manly Vibe; he was such hunk of a man and after finally throwing in the towel and succumbing to his feelings towards Brook he only became hotter in my eyes.
A man who goes after what he wants disregarding societies rules is just so darn sexy.
Now for my issues, I disliked how in the beginning Sage blew hot and cold with Brook; I thought he really wasn’t being fair to her sending her such mixed messages.
He really should have made a choice either way and just gone with it instead of almost playing with her emotions just because he couldn’t control his baser urges.
But the main kicker here for me was Brook herself; she was such a wingy spoilt child; I really found it extremely difficult at first to warm up to her, like even a smidgen and I really did struggle to comprehend how a grown man would be interested romantically in such a juvenile Little girl; and I’m talking about her outward behaviour here not her actual age; as that in my opinion is really just a number.
I was so pleased when she finally quit the stroppy teenage tantrums, this gave me a chance to actually warm up to her without the added distraction of her constant juvenile behaviour as background noise.
Finally, there was some really hypocritical behaviour on someone’s part here and also in regards to where we eventually ended up that didn’t really sit that right with me.
That’s all I can say here; without letting the cat out of the bag, but you’ll definitely get what I mean when you read about it.
The ending here could also have been better for me, I wasn’t a big fan; finding it actually kind of anti-climatic overall, but I must say I did really love that epilogue; it was ever so charming indeed.
So taking everything here into consideration while I did enjoy this and found it mostly a positive experience there were just some slight tweaks that for me would have given this a much higher eventual score; overall this still had many more positives than negatives.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC copy of “Sage’s Surrender (Hell’s Riders, #4)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Every single person at Skulls Renegade MC knows me as Jenna; Jenna Lawrence to be exact.
They think I’m some club whore because I’ve led them to believe that’s all I am. I’ve done a damn good job at being that girl. Here’s the thing, I’m not who they think I am.
My real name is Tegan Hill.
I’ve been here at Skulls Renegade’s Gainesville Chapter for nine long years, waiting for my golden opportunity that may never come. Skulls Renegade MC is responsible for my father’s death, or if I’m more specific, his killer Will Michaels is, Reed & Kyle’s father.
I’ve watched every single thing happen in this club. I’ve seen Reed and Elena get married. I’m watching everyone around me starting to have their own happily-ever-afters. Only, I don’t get one. I won’t ever be able to, until I avenge my father.
I’ve devoted 9 years, 3168 days, and 76,032 hours to my cause. He’s bound to show up sometime and when he does I’ll finally get justice for what happened to me and my father.
I’ve expected a lot of things, but what I never expected, was to fall in love with a Skulls Renegade MC member.
Which will conquer? My love, or my hate?

Well, this series just keeps on getting better and better in my opinion.
This third instalment “Revenge” was my hands down favourite so far; with a slightly different vibe to the others this had a much darker flavour overall and I loved every minute of it.
This is Jenna and Dimitri’s story and these two are like a pair of matching bookends.
With Souls that are almost Swirling in a void of darkness and secrets just waiting for the right moment to step out of there vast oblivion and strike hard.
Dimitri Petrov is practically Russian royalty, but one that has been forsaken by his blood and adopted into the MC lifestyle of brotherhood.
Jenna is hiding in plain sight just biding her time; playing at club whore is so far from where she started off in this life, but she’s in for the long game her compulsion for revenge fueling here drive.
This girl has had some serious hard knocks in the school of life which has helped forge a backbone of steel to impound and protect her surprisingly vulnerable heart.
That is until Her Russian starts to discover chinks in her steel armour and slowly over time erodes and chips away until Jenna has no choice but to hand him the key to her heart.
So this was just so good and considering how I struggled with book one I’m amazed at how invested I now am in the whole Skulls Renegade MC Series; these books have snuck up on me in stealth mode almost like a ninja.
I’m so in for the long haul now and I’m loving how these big bad bikers are falling like dominoes around us; The bigger they are the harder they do fall folks.
So as I said earlier this book was much darker than its predecessors and I do so love a bit of twisted torture and mayhem; it’s just my bag.
So almost instantly here I was hooked and frantically turning the pages needing to know what happened next.
There was so much going on that I was really on a rollercoaster of discovery with this one.
I especially adored how loyal these two were to each other; even over the club.
They had each other’s backs completely here and this was one of my very favourite aspects of this whole book, the unspoken fealty these two had for each other; no questions needed or asked.
Was truly astounding and I really did believe the connection these two outwardly portrayed.
I also loved the lack of judgment on either part here; so refreshing to behold
There is still so much more from these two to come I think; secrets have a habit of becoming known at the most inconvenient time and I’m so looking forward to some expected future fallout here; I’m actually counting on it.
Oh, and can I just say loving Jenna’s Dogs like so much; just wanted to get that out there as there almost a replacement family for her so thought her fierce guards deserved a shout out.
So I do feel these need to be read in order as the further into the Skulls you venture the more a connected story seems to emerge.
That’s not a hardship for me this is shaping up to be a great series and I’m looking forward to the next one in line here.

OMG! Loved “King Of Hearts” like so much and I feel like I was waiting forever to read this; I was so excited to get my hands on this second instalment in the fantastic “Old Money Roulette” series.
And sigh; it was over much too soon for me as I raced through this in record time.
This starts off exactly where we left events previously, and almost from the get-go we are ramped right back into the action with shocks and turns galore.
Mateo is in True King style as he attempts to mould and manipulate his Ley all in the name of shaping her new destiny as his queen; strategising events to play this game exactly as he chooses.
Taking Ley along for the ride; while giving her the allusion of choice when really her destiny has already been preordained by yours truly.
When the cards finally fall Elaina is going to be right by Mateos side; The dark Queen to his Corrupt King.
And my god this book was decadent and depraved personified; exactly what I have come to expect and adore from this particular author.
I just never knew where events were going to go next; This author has such a malignant mind that when let free it is honestly a touch unnerving; I was almost afraid to turn the page at times.
But in the same breathe, there’s also such a compulsion to soldier on here; as this is also such addictive reading that once started is impossible to put down until the final reveal; I was glued with an almost sinful sickened delight.
Both Elaina and Mateo are such flawed individuals both with multifaceted personalities.
Mateo being much more transparent than Elaina; who herself hides behind a facade of innocence concealing the cracks beneath her surface.
Mateo makes no apologies and himself stands in full view; almost daring his friends and also his enemies to judge.
while at the same time lending his assistance to Elaina as he attempts to get her to embrace her Immorality wholeheartedly.
So in “King Of Hearts” for every answer, Elaina gets another pops up in its place.
This is full of secrets and lies and is so fast paced it definitely kept me on my toes; feeding me just enough information to titillate but not ultimately satisfy my complete curiosity.
This was also scorching in terms of heat factor with some serious chemistry between our two lovers.
I should also probably mention that this story doesn’t pull any punches; it’s graphic and disturbed with torture that has an almost sick normalcy to it at times; that was just so wrong it was actually right.
This also straddles the dub-con line like a lot, so if this is a trigger; probably best to give this a wide berth.
My own personal morality radar when it comes to my fiction seems a bit screwy and I’ve found the more depraved the more I seem to devour; this I absolutely inhaled.
I’m so dying to read the next part of this addicting saga; So glad I haven’t long to wait, I will be on pins till I get my hands on the next piece of this perplexing puzzle.
I’m now convinced Natalie Bennett could write Christmas crackers and I would appreciate and revel in the almost neurotic normalcy she depicts so well; I’ve yet to read anything of hers yet that I haven’t adored.
This is one series I can’t recommend enough; Give it a go if your stomach is strong enough for the task at hand that is.

Caught in an ugly civil war no one understands, she’s now a number, a uniform, her future reduced to three stale meals a day with the strangers who share her fate. She’s nothing, no one—until a random act of compassion and an electric smile turn her prison into a refuge.

It’s his eyes, his heart, his beautiful soul drowning in an ocean of secrets. Lance Corporal Kaleb Novelli is an enigma, but with each plunge through another layer, Andie finds herself captured in a way she never imagined. She knows they have no future. They can’t even have a present, but that doesn’t stop her heart from committing to a man she can never have. The only one she trusts in this battle of lies and manipulation.

But they’ve found their paradise in hell, and she can’t shake the feeling that Kaleb Novelli is not just a player. He’s the game.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-6/6/18

This was such an unexpected little gem; so emotive and heart-wrenching in its brutality.
But also strangely uplifting and profound at the same time.
I felt so connected to the storyline and its characters here and this was one read that definitely snuck up on me in stealth mode; catching me completely unawares with its rawness and individuality.
From the second of starting this, I was ever so intrigued; The tale told here was so unique and so different it was in a genre all of its own class and I found myself struggling to classify this as it crossed so many lines with its profound message and agenda.
A real standout story that captured my attention with its ultimate distinctiveness.
“Traitor” in its first half almost seemed to rely more on the sentiment and simple interactions between Kaleb and Andie than any shock tactics to hook and draw in its reader and that was a real plus point for me.
Maybe that’s why in the second half the sheer brutality portrayed was such a contrast; it really reflected back the almost simplistic beginning here when placed and held up against such utter savagery as we encountered in “The prisoner” chapters; truly shocking.
The prose used here was so good Building anticipation and a sense of almost injustice against this post-apocalyptic waste-ground.
There was such originality in the way this story unfolded; Its a tale of two halves and though told in dual POV rather than it being alternate chapters; which is the usual norm; this book is split down the centre; with Andie’s perspective first; closely followed by Kaleb’s.
And rather than chapters dedicated to the build-up in Kaleb and Andie’s relationship; what we get is a series of flashbacks to more closely explain how there deep and profound connection ultimately developed.
This was such an original way of narrating and one I really adored.
The author doesn’t go into great back detail; it is assumed that the reader is somewhat aware of previous past endeavours; I found that this was not a great issue as the story is somewhat self-explanatory and so easy to follow along with.
As I mentioned previously; this has a sort of dystopian apocalyptic feel to it; A civil war rages across all fronts and our two main characters both seem to have there own personal roles to play.
This is almost a love across the barricades romance; one where you are forced to pick a faction but where both are equally abhorrent in their ultimate behaviour and intention; both sides guilty; nether innocent; both awash in shades of grey; is the real sense you take away from this touching poignant tale.
In fact, its poor Kaleb who gets caught in this crossfire who is the ultimate victim here; a pawn in this stalemate of wills and at the mercy and whims of powerful individuals; it’s truly heartbreaking to witness the extent of his suffering at the hands of a monster.
I could have wept rivers of pain for his agony, torment and terror.
How much misery and despair he must have endured internally to swallow his pride and beg for mercy in the way he did; truly tragic and dehumanising; a casualty of war not of his making.
But we also get to experience the other side of the coin; how just when you think life cant give you any more surprises it throws you curveballs.
That hope is not lost and people can still amaze you with there ingrained humanity.
Ultimately what I took away from this was a profound sense of faith and that even in the dark there can be a glimmer of light; for Kaleb, that is Andie she is his very beacon of hope.
Loved the ending here; I was worried for a second; so was so pleased to not have my expectations dashed just for cruel shock value; It was a bit of a phew moment for me there.
This was my first book by this author but so won’t be my last; I cant recommend this read enough; this is fiction at its best outstanding.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Traitor (Twisted Fate, #1) ” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

*Grimm*

Pariah.
Dark Messiah.
Harbinger of death.

My reputation has always preceded me.

I’m a brother to the queen of the Badlands.

I’m one of the few confidants to her fiancé–the devil himself.

And those whispered rumours that I’m a silent killer, a true harvester of souls?

They’re true.

People never see me coming. I don’t discriminate, I show no mercy, and I feel no remorse.

My only loyalty is to my family and when someone important to them goes missing, I vow to do whatever is necessary to track her down and bring her back.

But the person I find is not the same woman who was stolen away.

Something’s different about her.
Something I find myself drawn to as we fight our way back to hell.

*Arlen*

Stubborn.
Reckless.
Original family disappointment.

My reputation has never preceded me.

I’m supposed to be this spoiled, rich b*tch who does everything her daddy tells her.

I was forbidden to even think about the Badlands.

But money means nothin to me and my paradise was a pretty cage I refused to be trapped in.

I fought my way out, I found a new family, and even though sh*t got tough sometimes it all worked out in the end.

And then I got kidnapped.
I thought it was over for me.
I almost broke.

I should have known he would never let that happen.
And I should have realized something inside me had shifted.

Maybe then I’d have seen the signs that I was falling for an irredeemable man.

A man who taught me that there was power in taking away a life.
A man who showed me just how beautiful hell truly was.

It’s only fair I warn you that this is not a story about a rescued damsel in distress.
This is a story about what happens when a man who collects souls finally meets his match.

*Outcasts is the 3rd book in the Badlands series. This book can be read as a standalone but I recommend starting Savages & Deviants first.*

You know I don’t think it really matters the dark depraved satanic stuff that comes from the depths of Natalie Bennet’s soul.
I just can’t help but absorb the craziness and depravity portrayed here so decadently.
Really just flowing with the tide and giggling manically as we get to delve deeper amidst the fucked up pages that is ultimately Outcasts and this author’s amazingly demented psyche.
And man this stuff; is as always major fucked up; like totally.
giphy-14.gif
Sorry; I just can’t bring myself to care though as its just such compelling reading.

So in “outcasts” we get to continue the story we started in previous books and this begins initially with Arlen still MIA waiting for Grimm to come rescue her arse from her kidnapper Noah.
And In direct opposition to most romances (if you could call this that) the feelings between Grimm and Arlen are already established and on a firm ground, just not yet acted upon by either party involved.
And from the onset, we are thrown right back centre-stage into the action with blood, gore and torture aplenty.
“Outcasts” really doesn’t pull its punches in that particular department.
There were even occasions when I found my self-going no that’s just sick man, no way.
8131175.gif
So here we get to be up close and personal with what makes the Reaper that is Grim himself actually tick.
images.jpg
And we also get a front row seat to his brand of psychotic savagery and his way of giving his brat all of his attention and true self.

“I’d give her a crown forged of blood and bone from every motherfucker who’d laid a hand on what was mine. I hoped she was ready to paint some shit red. We weren’t going home until their bodies were at our feet.”

“Grimm was filthy, wicked down to his core, but he was the kind of filthy you wanted coating every fibre of your being, straight down to your bare bones”.

Then we have Arlen; Grimm’s brat, already damaged, but since her capture and life’s cruel lessons she now on the wrong side of cray-cray.
And what she wants most of all; besides grim, is to bathe in the blood of her enemies.
tumblr_nbbj44egs01titzlso1_500.gif
she is no longer so hung up on right versus wrong and is now fully embracing her malfunctioning moral compass.
PrestigiousImaginaryEelelephant-max-1mb.gif
So this is told from dual POV with a bonus chapter at the end courtesy of Romero.
We don’t get to see that much of Rom and Cali here though they do make the occasional cameo.
“Outcasts” mainly features Grimm, Arlen and Cobra heavily with some extra newcomers also thrown into the mix.
This was extremely ramped throughout; which as you can expect from this series was of a very graphic nature.
“Outcasts” was also super steaming hot setting the pages alight with its chemistry.
Grim and his brat certainly had a connection here and I could really feel it literally projecting off the page, heading right for me.
sometimes it’s the little things. like a shared interest.

“I wondered what it said about my relationship when I knew it was my man who killed someone simply by the way they were executed; clearly, we were very compatible.”

So I know this says it can be read as a standalone but in my opinion, I wouldn’t advise it.
You would lose so much and I do think have issues following along with the present timeline.
My advice, start at the beginning with savages you really won’t regret it.
Its a fantastically imaginative journey; that would be a shame to miss.
But before I go, a warning “Outcasts” is an extremely dark read dealing with some very graphic scenes.
If this is at all a trigger for you please do avoid, you have been warned.
If like me you like to take a stroll on the dark side occasionally then, by all means, please do join me on this effed up post-apocalyptic ride.
I want to leave you with this quote; which I think sums Grimm and Brats relationship up perfectly.

“She was mercy. I was death. She’d always be Sally. I’d be her Jack. A goddess like Persophone, to a dark lord like Hades. Queen of death. Queen of me. For always.”

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-17/4/18

So “Psychopath’s Prey was my first book by this author and I am actually blown away by how much I enjoyed this.
I really can’t wait to have a good old nose into what else this author has to offer.
So I’m going to start by saying that this is one ARC I was gagging to dig into and quite often when this happens my expectations are shattered when the book doesn’t quite live up to the hype I’ve built up in my head.
Not so here, I would even go as far as to say “Psychopath’s Prey has exceeded my initial excitement.
Now that doesn’t happen very often.
So where to start and how much to reveal, that’s a toughy as I want to rave from the rooftops but will try to keep myself in check as have no wish to spoil this fantastic plot for others.
Well here goes.
This is told from multiple POV’s which I loved as I felt this gave a well-rounded multi-faceted outlook on all involved here.
I also loved the way the chapters were laid out keeping you in the dark to Psychopath’s true identity until that final reveal.
I swung back and forward throughout, changing my mind numerous times as to who it was and even when it was finally revealed I still wasn’t really sure in myself who to actually suspect.
Now I am a massive Criminal Minds fan and have watched all thirteen seasons of the show, you could have tickled me pink that this was partially set in the BAU I was like a kid at Christmas a definite front-runner in terms of draw for me.
I also found there was a fantastic array of side characters portrayed here, all vivid and well researched with great depth to them all.
In fact, that was a great strength here I don’t think for me there were any weak links at all.
This was not really in my opinion that dark, but I suppose that’s all in your perception.
I have experienced some very dark and depraved fiction, so found this myself to be relatively mild.
That may not be the case for you, that is one you will have to measure for yourself.
I did wonder near the end of this how events were going to play as I couldn’t see how the end game was going to be achieved.
I was pleasantly surprised and was also impressed at how the author wrapped things up so nicely.
So there you have it, I really cant recommend this enough, give it a go.
Psychopath’s Prey is a little gem that I enjoyed immensely hope you do too.

REVIEW COPY
Release Date-8/3/18

I’m going to keep this brief as without giving away the whole plot it’s hard to go into details here.
“Pretty Killer” is a short read that packs a punch.
I did enjoy this but it was really in my opinion just to brief overall to give the subject matter its due.
That really is what let this down how short it was.
So Rosalina is Pretty Killer a girl shaped by her past and life experiences.
Her background has helped mould her into the woman she is today.
Shes also the new heir of the Mexican Mafia after her fathers passing.
A job she has been in training for at least half her life.
In contrast, when she meets Anthony De Los Santos, a major member of the Cuban mafia and her future all rolled into one sparks fly.
Also, A softer side beneath her harsh exterior is slowly revealed as Tony manages to burrow beneath Rosalinas skin.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between this pair it will be interesting to see where it goes.
So I found this to be an enjoyable read that kept me entertained.
This is quick, low angst insta-love with no OW action.
and just so you’re aware this does end on a big cliffhanger.
Thank You to the Author for proving me with an ARC of (Pretty Killer (La Asesina Bonita, #1) ) of which I have reviewed voluntary.
