Release Date-16th September 2018
Genre-Dystopian Dark Romance
Kindle Edition

Cobra

Wildcard.
Sinner.
Frequently misunderstood.

I can be your best friend or your worst fucking nightmare.

The Savages are my family and the Badlands is our paradise.
When that’s threatened, no one is safe.
Carnage and chaos unfold around me.
Loyalties are tested. Truths start to unravel.

When everything I know teeters on the verge of going up in flames, the only girl I tried to save, may end up saving me.

Blue

Old soul.
Selfless.
Unusually stable.

I was the good girl, the one who saw beauty in people.

When the devil marked me everything changed.
The world I’ve been chained to is merciless and cruel.
I was ready to leave it all behind, but then he found me again.
He needed saving, I needed a reminder of who I was.

Nothing could prepare me for what came next.

Heathens is book 4 in the bestselling Badlands series. This is a complete story with no cliffhanger, however, books 1-3 must be read prior.

Heathens (Badlands Book 4)

Heathens by Natalie Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

HEATHENTEASER7

Heathens was the much-anticipated conclusion to this particular chapter of the series.
Bringing forth some much-needed closure to this current generation of savages: but leaving the stage fully prepared for the next offerings of degenerates: this current casts fledgeling feral offspring.
I am so entirely grateful that this is not my final foray into the dark decadent depths of the badlands.
And I am very much looking forward to continuing on with this new set of individuals next year.
That teaser at the end of “Heathens” looked so bloody delicious: I for one will definitely be on board for the upcoming journey.
So here we get to catch back up with the gang after the events in the previous instalment.
This time around we are focusing our attention on Cobra and Blue and for me as much as I did enjoy this there was something slightly missing; not enough of a something to stop my overall enjoyment here that was a given: I mean we are back in the bloody badlands duh!!!
But “Heathens” for me, when held up against its predecessors was like the little brother of the bunch and didn’t pack the full punch that the rest of the family themselves actually delivered.
There were a few things here that bothered me: For one the Katya thing really bugged me.
I would have prefered that Cobra had stayed away from her like completely.
I felt like Blue got a bit of a raw deal and was almost shoved aside originally for Katya: Not cool a-tall Cobra.
“Heathens” did some backpedalling fully explaining the actions behind Cobras faulty reasonings: for me, these excuses didn’t really wash and I felt he got off extremely lightly.
I also couldn’t quite work out the deal with Katya because of discrepancies in her behaviour was she loyal to Blue or not.
I mean at the end of book three she went postal when Blue was taken but later shes pretty much MEH about the whole thing: this did confuse me slightly.
I also felt that Blue was much too forgiving and Cobra to loyal to his brothers over all else.
I couldn’t see Grim or Romero sitting on their arses instead of being pro-active: Blue was literally handed back on a platter to Cobra no major effort on his part which sucked hairy balls.
Blue herself was also too nice a character for the Badlands: I would have liked her to make Cobra do some major sucking up and grovelling.
I also wasn’t happy with how the baby storyline played out.
And finally, the ending for me also seemed slightly rushed and was a bit anti-climatic in nature.
Look this was a mixed bag: but was still a solid four Star read and one that despite my moanings I still did enjoy very much.
I know it may look overwise considering my above peeves but this is still a fantastic imaginative read. Natalie Bennett for me is an auto-buy and a four-star read out of her depraved mind is still a solid offering that I am ever so happy to recommend.
So It just wasn’t a complete full sweep: which is the norm for me here with this series.
But No mind: It was, as usual, a decadent, depraved romp through a brutal badlands whereas its everything wrong that makes this just so fantastically right.
Expect all the usual visual delights that you’ve come to expect from a Natalie Bennett novel: this instalment certainly delivers on them in spades.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Heathens” (Badlands #4) of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Release Date-28th August 2018
Genre-Fantasy Romance
Kindle Edition-203 Pages

Aldora lived in a bordertown on the edge of the maze. A labyrinth that spanned an eternity filled with creatures that howled through the night. She was a daughter to farmers that worked the fields and endured a quiet life as a peasant, away from the capital and its nihilistic celebrations; away from all that would look at her and discern her worth. Because to be chosen as a sacrifice was to be chosen to die. Until one night, while at the edge, she heard a husky voice in the darkness.

Vedikus Bathyr.
He prowled the overgrown passages at the farthest edges where the true, intelligent beasts roamed. They were all there for the same reasons: to kill each other and capture the humans that entered the labyrinth.

On one fated night a human girl called out to him. A girl with a voice that quickened his blood. But he wasn’t the only one to hear her call…

Minotaur is a dark fantasy romance with explicit violence and possible triggers. Mature readers only.

Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1)

Minotaur: Blooded by Naomi Lucas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

cropped-minotaur-banner-2
There was nothing hearts and roses in any shape or form about this story; in fact, it was more in my opinion about claiming and animalistic lust.
It was also if I’m being honest a trifle strange in content, so you know what it was absolutely inevitable that I was going to bloody love this.
I adore the weird and wacky and that is definitely what we are given here in spades.
This is a strange unapologetic romp filled with bloody gore and extremely graphic and carnal copulation.
Look this is going to be an acquired taste folks a bit like marmite; love or hate it people this is one that your not likely to forget in a bloody hurry.
If your easily offended or shocked then probably better to walk on by here.
Myself being a bit of a perve I found myself a spot and immediately got comfy; immersing myself fully in this unusual and strangely hot story.
Have to say this was my first minotaur romance; I have done centaur (I loved that also; see self-confessed perve here)
But here I did surely pop my cherry in all things, Bull.
I say romance lightly here as we actually have precious little of that, this is much more raw and primal in nature than romantic overtures and heartfelt declarations.
I also didn’t actually find this that dub-con in nature this to me just screamed more heavy seduction rather than rapey.
Also, this is in no shape or form bestiality either I mean yeh technically the guy has hooves and a big bull dong and even horns but the dude walks upright and can reason and talk so in my book he’s hardly there chewing the cud in a field now is he.
By that token, all shapeshifter romances would be reclassified wouldnt they.
So In “Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1)” the story is relatively simple Aldora living in a border town gets herself thrown into the Labyrinth.
Vedikus a Minotaur in the ways of his people takes Aldora for his own keeping her alive from all that would do her harm (Other than himself of course) within the labyrinth.
Determining to claim her for his mate he is willing to maim and destroy anyone who dares try to take his prize away from him.
And that’s it really; its actually quite a simple concept but I really did work.
So Vedikus himself did kind of grow on me and though Aldora did very swiftly accept her fate here I found I didn’t have it in me to care that much, this really for me was pure unadulterated fantasy at its very best and I devoured every wicked scenario I was given gladly.
The only reason I marked this down to a four rather than a five is I would have liked to have seen a bit more of them actually settled as a couple when they reached Vedikus’s home other than that I was a happy camper.
I will definitely be indulging in the next book in this series Minotaurs are now my new flavour of strange but sexy.
I borrowed Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1) with my KU subscription.

I was hired to apprehend a monster – a Dom who’d been sentenced to life for murdering his submissive. I’ve seen what he’s capable of, and the images will haunt me forever. I swore I’d stop at nothing to put him behind bars.

But then our plane back to the States crashes.

We are the only two survivors.

And the monster will make me wish I’d died along with the rest of them.

I devoured “Island Captive” in like one sitting it was that good.

belle_book_gif

And no this was not no insipid flowery fairy-tale but it was definitely my kind of bed-time story
one where my evening is most certainly going to feature sweet dreams of the more carnal variety; if I’m very lucky that is.

DistortedTinyLabradorretriever-max-1mb

The premise behind this storyline is simple Nadine works for a government agency that apprehends hardened criminals that have gone AWOL.
Along with her partner, she is hot on the trail of convicted killer Adrian who has been convicted of brutally murdering his submissive.
Nadine feels this one personally; despite her trying to stay detached and manages while recapturing Adrian to earn his own brand of personal hatred.
When their charter plane encounters difficulties mid-flight and crashes Adrian and Nadine are the sole survivors.
The roles these two started out with are dramatically reversed; Jailor becomes prisoner and the prisoner holds all the cards and is damn sure ready to use them all to his advantage.
I think someones definitely got a case of bruised feelings here.

images.jpg

So this is where our story really takes off and it’s fabulous.
Adrian in control making Nadine pay for every little slight while he in a way punishes here for her past treatment of him.
I have to be honest here I was struggling initially with whether I could grow to like Adrian as he just seemed so cold and single-minded in his interactions and overall mindset.

giphy (1).gif

no matter as the story unfolded, I began to warm to him as he gradually started to redeem himself.
The slow gradual burn between Nadine and Adrian really appealed to me.
I would have liked him maybe to show a bit more in terms of feelings as the book progressed.
But that was just more of a personal preference; I do like my dramatic declarations of loves and devotion and sadly that for me was missing here.
We do get the eventual HEA here, but it was just a little anti-climatic for my liking.
This had plenty of action and was super enjoyable, do be aware it is slightly dub-con in nature but that was half the draw here for me.
The eventual connection between Adrian and Nadine here was completely consensual just initially this does skate the boundaries please avoid if that is at all an issue for you.
So yeh my removing half a star was mainly due to the lack of emotional declarations something about seeing a tough grown man brought to his knees by the fairer sex just gets me all a quiver.
despite my above gripe, this was still a fantastic read that I really did enjoy.
So Imagine a naughtier version of the Blue Lagoon (Love that film) one with lots of spankings and you’re halfway there with picturing this.
This may be my first Jane Henry book but It definitely is not going to be my last.

I thought I’d lost everything. My life was in tatters when a man half my age broke into my property and invaded my future. Our love is forbidden, but I’m single and he’s all the taboo I crave. For once in my life, why not? But what if I start wanting more than a fleeting love affair? What if his secrets will destroy me? I had no idea how much more I was about to lose.

Young Enough (The Age Between Us, #2)

Young Enough by Charmaine Pauls
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

33308220_1795033493882316_893330554500415488_n

So this was the second instalment in The Age between us duo, and though I didn’t rate it quite as high as part 1 this was still a really worthy addition to this great series.
In “Young Enough” We catch up with our lovers Brian and Jane after the events of the previous instalment and just as I predicted previously things went to hell in a handbasket like dramatically.
Everything that could go wrong here did, this was so bloody angsty.
I started this with a sense of dread deep in the pit of my stomach so it was almost a relief when everything that had been building up finally started to implode piece by piece one incident after another like falling dominoes.

tenor.gif

I’m not going to go into Specifics here but let’s just say there’s plenty here to grab and retain your attention.
I was still adoring Brian and Jane; especially Brian and really couldn’t see how they were going to survive the fallout here and still remain eventually happy together.
I mean without either of them giving up something or someone they cared about; it just seemed such an impossible situation and every direction in sight was a no win for someone.
So here we are also finally given some closure in regards to some of the truly reprehensible characters we were introduced to previously.
Some actually came into there own and surprisingly stepped up to the mark and others finally showed their true colours in all their self-centred entirety.
Though I was slightly disappointed that just desserts were not served where they were definitely deserved.
My other main bug-bear here was Consequences especially in regards to Abby they seemed to be sorely lacking and I don’t really think the punishment fit the crime; what Abby did regardless of her youth was deplorable and she practically just got a slap on the wrist in regards to her behaviour.
I found this as a parent inconceivable.

ca429809-146d-4fc1-a402-216f8874f68e.gif

I also would have liked to see some apologies from certain adults and there unwarranted behaviour towards Jane as It seemed to have just been brushed beneath the carpet and forgotten; in my opinion, its no wonder Abby behaves the way she does when her role models are just so lacking in their own remorse.
Despite my above grumbles, this was still a great read with so much to offer.
It was jampacked right through and I read it practically in one angst-ridden sitting.
I do have to say though that as much as I liked out final destination here I would have myself prefered a slightly more alternate route getting there, but no mind we got where we needed to be anyway disregardless of the actual direction taken.
But all in all, this was still a great conclusion which wrapped up everything so neatly and expertly.
A really well-written age gap romance that I enjoyed immensely.
As I have stated previously OW/YM is not usually my thing; have to say this one is my exception to the rule, one I’m glad I gave that initial chance to.
I am really happy to give the thumbs up and recommend “The Age Between Us” Series.
Its a sexy, angsty journey of discovery and I am really glad I took a leap of faith here.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Young Enough” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Kindle Edition-401 Pages

There is no Quinn without Que.

Her only family murdered, the males of her species governing the prison designed to contain her, she mourns. Que had been her world, but it is Sovereign who enters her body day and night.

No man has loved a woman more, and no woman has hated a man with such passion.

She cannot help it. Designed to be the perfect slave soldier, programmed to exterminate her own kind, Sigil wants nothing more than to butcher those who would save her.

Sovereign’s many Brothers lavish her with attention, taking turns practising seduction to woo the only female who might propagate their species. No matter twisting limbs or thrusting bodies, no matter opulent gifts and distraction, Sigil sees what they seek to hide.

There is a dangerous secret Sovereign and his Brothers cannot conceal forever, though they are willing to risk the empire, their lives, and even her sanity trying. Is that not the definition of love?

Publisher’s Note: The second instalment in Addison Cain’s provocative and raw Irdesi Empire series is a dark tale with explicit sexual themes and complete power exchange. Some scenes are written to be disturbing. If such material offends you, please do not purchase.

This gets a full house in regards to my rating just because as per usual whether I actually liked where the story was heading or not there was no way on heaven or earth anyone would have been able to prise me away from this disturbing tale of events.

giphy

I don’t want to actually go into to much detail here mainly because this just needs to be experienced in all its unapologetic entirety.
To actually comprehend the whys and whatevers of all involved here you need to intermesh yourself fully into the landscape and mindsets of all involved.
We are dealing with an almost hive mindset with a morally reprehensible outlook on all its society.
So basically the alliance and sigil are actually the bad guys and though you never can really condone their actions I could at least get to a point in my head where I could see how they had arrived at this current crossroads in the Alliances overall objective.
It is really all about protecting and acquiring precious sigil she is really the key to everything that has occurred and will occur despite her abhorrence for this fact.
In Sovereign, we delve more into the emotional side of Sigil but don’t expect her to suddenly blossom into all that is good and kind Our precious girl is still the psychotic sociopathic killer from the previous book as the brothers discover time and time again.
This story was so interesting and despite certain directions that I would have prefered otherwise, I was transfixed throughout; Addison Cain is definitely an author I can’t get enough of.
Her dark mind delves into crevises others fear to tread appaling and enthralling me equally.
So this was left in my opinion slightly open-ended for future story development which was great as I felt I got closure while still eagerly anticipating the next shocking chapter.
As such I am happy to wait even though I really do want it right now; just because I am so bloody impatient for my next fix.
I am going to leave you with my favourite quote from the whole book just to entice.

“Stop?” Sovereign’s grip tightened his voice razor blades. “It is always stop, isn’t it? I give you gentleness, you fight. I build you an empire, you hate me for it! I could take you here, on these very dead right now. I could make you, and you couldn’t stop me—just like you couldn’t stop me on Pax. I could push into your body anytime I wanted.” He bit at her mouth, lapped her lips before he shoved the startled woman away. “There is no STOP! There is only wait. Wait while you fuck my Brother. Wait while you mourn a being who never loved you. And I will wait, Sigil. You would be surprised how far my patience will extend. But there is never, ever going to be a stop. I don’t even think the grave could keep me from you

He will possess her in every way.

After a century, The Irdesi Emperor has finally cornered their species’ only female. Sovereign and his fanatic brothers are closing in, driving Sigil to desperation.

They outnumber her, they are stronger, and they are relentless.

Sovereign knows her secrets better than Sigil knows herself. He knows she was conditioned to hate him. It changes nothing. The Emperor cannot help but crave her—just as his loyal brothers crave her.

The entire future of their species hinges on Sovereign’s ability to dominate the slippery renegade and make her feel the truth of what she is. She is his Consort. She is his obsession—a bride destined to be shared with and adored by his kin… to be satiated and ruled, to be overpowered and healed of her compulsions by any means necessary.

She has no choice in the matter. The empire will stop at nothing. Sigil will belong to them; she will be made to love them, even if they are forced to rip the galaxy apart to claim her.

I suppose we’re both monsters; Black hair hung in his eyes as he turned her chin to taste her mouth. “At least I didn’t try to eat her, lost lamb.

Oh, my Star and moon this was bloody good.
Like seriously I really couldn’t get enough of this darkly sadistic depraved tale.
I’m not even sure how to start describing this madhouse of mayhem.
So this places us in a fictional fantasy landscape set in space, so its a sci-fi Yes?
Well, it sort of is but its also so much more sci-fi / Erotica / Horror / dystopian; We have a bit of everything all mashed up together to create this fantastical adventure that I honestly have nothing to compare it to.
everything that shouldn’t have worked did; this author has the exceptional ability to create whole masterpieces when it comes to her world building skills.
This is something she absolutely excels at.
What she’s is also a master at is giving me a story that I didn’t even know I wanted never mind needed.
I am having quite a time lately with dark fiction that I am actually struggling to accept emotionally which as a result is reflecting in my final book ratings.
I am not even sure what the correct combination for myself even is so to expect anyone else to get it is a bloody long stretch, but Addison Cain seems to have punched my ticket because she gets the formula correct for me every single time.
Definite auto-buy author.
This is dark dubious material skirting the edge constantly in regards to its content.
dub-con bordering at times on non-con and I seriously devoured every depraved scenario we were given here.

Oh, Sigil.” Sovereign slid his lips over her ear. “It had to happen this way. Can you not already feel me working inside you, undoing the damage? Does it not satisfy to be mounted by your own kind? Every time we mate, you’ll know completion. You’ll chemically recognize your place until you are healed of the poison they inflicted on you to punish me.

Sigil/Quinn is a complete psychopath with very few redeeming qualities of these anomalies was her compulsion to save neglected children and provide them with an alternative (probably an understandable result of her own horrific childhood)
And her love of Que her unemotional alien companion and saviour.
Her devotion and internal gratitude to this particular individual is very apparent.
While playing the role of master and slave on the space station Pax Sigil is discovered by the very species that she has been evading for years.
With Sovereign and the brothers ready to reclaim Sigil as imperial Consort to the Irdesi empire they are willing to do whatever it takes to claim and dominate this elusive escapee.
Sigil is right back at ya and the trials and agonies she is willing to endure to evade sovereigns attentions was truly astounding.
Sovereign I’m still not sure of but I do think he generally cares in his own unique fashion and even when he does what is necessary his words still reflect his hope and blind devotion that Sigil will return his affections some day.
We left Sigil (Irdesi Empire #1) on a shocking cliffhanger that had me screaming NO!!!

how-could-you-do-this-caskett-31953564-245-250.gif

Will be starting the next instalment immediately after that one; how could I not.
Before I go just a small observation Sigil, in my opinion, is one of the most crazy-ass female characters I have ever encountered.
I mean geez this girl has actually eaten people.

Quinn envisioned plucking out one of his unimaginable eyes and crushing it to jelly—or maybe eating it, swallowing down a piece of him while he watched. The fantasy blossomed, made her smile, and she slipped further into manic bloodlust.

CarefreeSparseHarrier.gif

What am I saying she was completely the bomb and I adored her crazy lab-engineered butt.
You so rock girlie.
I am really looking forward to my next Sigil fix.
This won’t be one for everyone, but this one was definitely my particular brand of bad.
As an added bonus Sigil (Irdesi Empire #1) is also available through KU.

Giselle didn’t know how long she lay near catatonic willing the terrible headache to go away. She sat up as one of the reptilian aliens entered. Giselle backed up and looked around realizing she was alone in a gilded cage.
“What’s going on?” She stammered.
“If you’re wise you’ll keep quiet, pets don’t speak on this planet.” The creature admonished.
A pet? Giselle’s eyes widened. She hadn’t misheard.
Her cage was moved into a large tent. There were hundreds of aliens gathered for the auction, and these creatures were the largest yet. Their flesh was red like some kind of demon might be, with hair a uniform dark black. From what Giselle could see their eyes were a stone cold obsidian hue. Giselle noticed the fearsome creatures had long tails that rose out from what looked like chain mail kilts. Giselle shrunk back when she saw the creatures also had sharp fangs.
How in the hell could she get out of this and if she did how could she possibly survive on an alien planet?

Kagan beheld his pet. Nothing like her kind had ever set foot on Cadi. Kagan wondered where in the universe her unique species hailed from.
Giselle refused to behave and even enjoyed his attempts to rebuke her, reveling in the rough handling a male usually held back with females. Giselle was brave instead of meek, standing up for herself in a sea of foreigners.
Kagan had at first insisted that Giselle understand her place in Cadi society. But something more valuable than precious metal or jewels would be lost if Giselle was forced into the role everyone thought she belonged.

Can Giselle find acceptance and love on an alien planet or will she always be nothing more than a warrior’s pet?

I really did enjoy “The Warriors Pet” It’s been a while since I read me a good Alien romance and this one ticked all my boxes.
If I had one criticism though ( and this is where it lost a star for me ) its that I had to suspend my disbelief slightly as the story unfolded.
Giselle the Pet of the forenamed book title manages to completely turn opinions around as she slowly morphs into this super wise woman who excels at everything she does including war-mongering.
Bringing to a head years of conflict between two opposite warring factions.
I really just couldn’t see it myself; despite this, I still adored events here; losing myself in the rich well-developed landscape this author has constructed with such finesse.
So after Giselle is abducted from earth she founds herself auctioned off as a pet.
Eventually finding herself the personal Pet of Kagan.
Giselle is the opposite to everything a Cadi woman is; Bold, Brave and outspoken and it’s not long before Kagan starts to realise he just might have met his match in his new little plaything.
But stuck on a planet where Giselle is seen as little more than property can she change the attitudes around her and win her man.
So this was a great imaginative read that captured and kept my attention so easily.
It was told in dual POV; Kagen and Giselle’s and captured their essences beautifully.
I was super invested in all the outcomes here and despite some instances where I would have prefered a slightly different scenario than what we were given I still essentially loved most things about this.
I am a sucker for Aliens that actually resemble aliens and that is what we are given here with tail fangs and all and this for me was a massive plus point in this story’s favour.
Oh, and as an added incentive this was also smokin hot also; like set the pages to blazing.
So this gets a definite thumbs up from me It’s a fun sexy read that really manages to deliver.
A great start to a new series.

thumbnail_depredation banner

As per usual this author managed to deliver a completely corrupt tale filled with depravity and vicious immoral behaviour.
This author is the master of this type of fiction managing to deliver such dissolute debased conduct while still also somehow hooking the reader like a fish on a line.
You so want to look away in horrific denial but It’s almost like you just have to watch so great is the compulsion and magnetism of the scene set before you.
The basic premise here is the kidnapping and incarceration of young Harper and the trials and tribulations she has to endure to escape from a nightmare at the sadistic hands of her kidnapper J.
She is not the first visitor to J’s basement prison but she’s determined to be his last.
Kept in squalor and filth by her Jailor Harper is prepared to do whatever it takes to survive her abominable ordeal.
Told from two points of view Harper and her captor this is a dark tale of extraordinary extremities and the resilience of the human spirit and psyche.
I also really adored the karmic justice this deviant narrative imparted it left me with a feeling of deep satisfaction and an almost gratification for the fate it eventually delivered to those deserving of such torments and tortures.
The only reason I haven’t scored this higher is that I would have myself liked a slightly more drawn-out process with some added closure when it came to the finish here.
It seemed to end rather abruptly which I was not a big fan of.
But as usual, a fabulously unique endeavour that certainly stand out in its genre.
Oh and I should probably mention as well that this is not a romance; nope not at all, if I had to classify it I would say erotic horror is probably the closest term to describe this.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of ”
Depredation: A Dark Erotica” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Lachlan’s Protégé by V.F. Mason

I was really looking forward to “Lachlan’s Protégé”; it had one of those blurbs that was just oh so intriguing and it certainly didn’t disappoint capturing and retaining my interest ever so easily.
I didn’t like this quite as much as “Psychopath’s Prey” but have to say it was a very close second indeed.
I adored the way this story was told with present time and flashbacks and it certainly managed to keep me on my toes as I was never quite sure of Lachlan’s hidden agenda and what his ultimate
end-game was.
This author is an expert in misdirection and as usual, managed to weave a dark entangled web that I really enjoyed trying to decipher.
I did prefer Lachlan in all his unapologetic depravity than Valencia with all her fresh wholesomeness but that’s mainly because I am more drawn to the dark in all its shades of grey.
I really do love me a story that takes a walk on the dark side, managing to keep me off balance with its potential.
I really did inhale everything about this deeply decadent story and the only reason I removed half a star here was that I didn’t always feel the connection between Lachlan and Valencia as deeply as I could have.
I feel that this may have been due to how much back-story we are given here.
No matter I still really enjoyed this.
My only other criticism here was the ending I would have prefered maybe a bit more interaction between our Main two characters; I felt that I didn’t quite get given the closure I needed with these two.
Saying that the finale was also pure genius didn’t see that one on the horizon.
All in all, this was a fab read That I really enjoyed and I am happy to recommend.
On a final note just wanted to add that there are some triggers here that may bother some readers; this is at its heart a dark read so don’t expect some sweet vanilla story as this is definitely not what you’re going to receive here.

The Darkness In Faith(1)

🌹BOOK REVIEW🌹

Release Date-2nd May 2018
Genre-Erotic Horror
Kindle Edition-381 Pages

Book 1: My name is Faith: Tortured sex slave turned brutal murderer. Men have abused my body for inhuman pleasures, hurt me and made me feel helpless. But now…

They fear me. I wish I could say that it is all for the good of the world that I kill them slowly and give them a taste of what they have made others feel, but that would be a lie. Turns out, I have a lust for blood and get off on making THEM my slave. They may be way past being offended at that point, but I sure enjoy my living dead boys.

Just one small problem. I am falling for my newest conquest and don’t know anymore if I want to tie him up and kill him slowly. He supposedly sexually assaulted a woman horribly ten years ago and is currently on parole for the crime, but something about those genuine sea green eyes and that beguiling mouth makes me weak. I still want to tie him up but what I want to do to him- will make us both scream.

Something about his darkness and pain calls to my own, and he knows I could kill him at any time, but still fights to possess me in every dripping, consuming and tantalizing way.

Come inside if you dare where real sex slave stories are my inspiration and I’ll tell you the story of a serial murderess and the life altering events that made her a Lover of the Dead.

Book 2: How can I admit to myself that I have fallen for the one thing I fear the most? I should kill him, as I have visited bloody death on many others just like him but…

Instead I have let him inside me. Deeply, painfully and with all-consuming psychotic passion. My body hums when he hurts it, as he’s brought out a hidden side of me that thrives off his rough touch. I have never felt so alive.

Here he is by my side as we travel the country, staying in the finest hotels and savagely getting revenge on those who have sexually tortured me. What a ride. Kill, rough sex. Try to kill each other, more rough sex… And repeat.

But something changes my dark lover with each kill and I fear I will lose him forever. The blood thirsty beast he struggles to keep locked up within thrashes against its cage, and I don’t know how much time we have left together. Oh, but I WILL make the most of it.

Book 3: My enemy becomes my lover…

“Please let me go,” I say.
He takes a deep breath. “I can’t. Why don’t you see that you are meant for me? You’re a killer, you’re a sexual predator, and my dark soul demands I take yours. I need to **** your body mercilessly and make you scream from beneath me. I have no choice because I’ve never wanted anything so bad.”
His lips move to ear. “Say you want me, Faith.” He sucks my neck into his mouth and the ache feels good. He leaves bruises. “I will do anything.”
I cringe and stare into nothingness. This is my way out. If he has become obsessed with me because I escaped him years ago, because his best friend wants me, and because I challenge him, then I can use it to escape. I refocus and allow my demoness to take hold. “I shouldn’t want you James.”
He moves inside me, lifting me up and forcing me back down over his thickness and I cry out. “But you do,” he breathes.
I won’t make it that easy. “You excite me. You make my body sing and scream at the same time.” His **** rubs through me igniting incredible sensations and I haven’t lied to him yet. “I want you,” I say breathlessly. He feels so good because this is so bad and my sanity is being pushed to the limit. I run my fingers across the shaved sides of his head and rip his blond hair backward. I ride him hard. “You’re beautiful,” I say, trying to breathe. “Because you tear me to pieces.”
He grasps my hips, the killer who has never gotten off without hurting a woman first, and digs his fingers into my flesh. With a desperate kiss, his eyes roll back and his body tenses in anticipation.

REVIEW COPY
Serial Murderess Series

so I’m going to do things a bit different here and review all three books in the Serial Murderess Series together but giving my brief impression on each instalment.
So I’m not normally one for trigger warnings but with this, you need one; this is dark depraved sick stuff proceed with caution.
If like me that sentence is like honey to a bee just be aware that at times this was even a bit too much for me and that’s something I don’t usually say.
There is Rape, murder, torture, necrophilia, cannibalism the list goes on and on so please do take my warning seriously there is the blackest stuff imaginable between these pages.
So this is a hard one, on the one hand, I love to push the boundaries of my tolerances, but here I wasn’t just giving them a nudge I was flat out annihilating and totally flattening everything in its path.
So If you want to just dip your toe into darker waters this isn’t the series to start with; this is completely hardcore.
This series is mainly told from the POV of Faith herself a product of her horrific life experiences in her case a history of rape, torture and slavery.
This girl has some serious issues which have resulted in her fascination with blood and death.
She’s a self-made serial killer who preys on the predators themselves.
Her moral compass is so off course when it comes to dispensing her own personal brand of justice.
So what happens when this necrophilia loving serial killer meets what could be her match made in heaven.
I’m gonna stop you right there; this is not a romance; this is so far from the warm and fuzzies than your ever going to get; Brandon the male interest here, is so not what I would even label; what we like to call an anti-hero.
This is more a psychotic bloody Bonnie and Clyde type journey cross country where Faith and Brandon embark on an all-out pilgrimage to annihilate every person that has ever hurt Faith in the most imaginative ways possible.
The go-to phrase these two start to employ.

This is going to be the most fun we’ve had yet

But this is also a downward spiral into the Pitts of insanity and what happens when you give your demons such a free rein.

The Darkness in Faith
is the onset of the journey where we learn what shapes our two lovers into the individuals they have evolved into.
This is perhaps the mildest of the three books almost a build up to more gruesome events.
It’s still bloody graphic as hell though so be prepared for anything.
In This instalment, we leave Brandon and Faith ready for there mission ahead.

Darkly Dreaming Faith
Portrays there antics as each kill goes down more each imaginative than the last.
Brandon and Faith fall deeper down the rabbit hole with each occurrence sending Brandon on a downward spiral into insanity.
In fact, here it becomes very apparent that Brandon is so much more than he has previously revealed to his new partner in death.
Finally culminating in Faith through self-preservation contemplating going rogue on his butt.

Vicious Faith
The final book in the trilogy and perhaps the most graphic and depraved of all three.
Here all roads come to a head and number five on Faiths list “Gas Mask” in dramatic style manages to turn the tables on Faith.
This was my favourite of the three books and though there where things I had kinda guessed previously here; there were still many shocks that snuck up and caught me unawares.
I adored the shocking conclusion we were given here.
It had an almost karmic justice to it.
Here is where we discover that there are no heroes only predators and events do come full circle in such a shocking finale.

This is not a romance.
There are no heroes in this trilogy only innocents and evil.
This was not easy reading at times but I persevered as I wanted to know the final outcome.
My rating here really reflects my unease with the content matter involved.
“The serial Murderess series” itself really pushed the envelope with me in regards to my comfort levels.
It’s an unapologetic jaunt through a dissolute and perverted playground.
Where everything good and wholesome has been stripped back to the bone and the only thing left behind is viciousness and cruelty.
Enter if you dare but be warned the passage your about to traverse is anything but pretty.
The road ahead of you is paved in blood and tears.
I’m not going to give this a yay or a nay just a give this a go if you think you can handle it and prepare to be appaled.
And again remember my original caution.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Serial Murderess Series” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions are entirely my own.
