The Celestial Mates agency always knows what – or who – you need.

Tarrik would do anything to avoid breaking his mother’s heart, so he begrudgingly signs up for Celestial Mates and agrees to come home and settle down once the agency finds his match. There’s just one catch: he’s not ready to give up his free and easy life travelling the galaxy. And he’s doing exactly as his mother asked, so what will it hurt if he makes himself as unappealing as possible on his mate application?

Juliette is a woman on the run. Her attitude, and more importantly her hacking skills, have pissed off all the wrong people. Now the target of a contract hit, she’s decided the solution to her problems is to leave the planet as fast as she can. The Celestial Mates program is exactly what she needs. By the time her “mate” realizes she’s impossible to live with, hopefully, it will be safe for her to return to earth. She wasn’t counting on a seriously hot alien who looked like the devil and could do the most sinful things with his tail…

The sparks fly at first meeting when their chemistry ignites. But they can barely stand to be in the same room with each other.

They shouldn’t work at all.

But Celestial Mates always knows best.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-6/7/18

What’s not to like here; Mated on Hades was a fun interesting read that kept me entertained throughout.
This was not especially long; which for me can sometimes be a bit of a deterrent to my overall enjoyment I found it didn’t really affect my experience that much here.
I loved the idea of Celestial Mates of different species being paired up, finding it such a fascinating concept to read about.
This one had such great imaginative world building and was one I was especially looking forward to delving into and it certainly didn’t disappoint, pulling me in and capturing my attention right from the onset.
I also adored the physical appearance of Tarrik with his horns, wings and all that smouldering heat finding it strangely hot and extremely sexy.
And man; that tentacle/Tail was super smokin it had a bloody mind all of its own; loved it, it was like it had its own separate individual personality.
Tarrik was also such a big man-child with his prickly personality; totally spitting his dummy out in regards to his little human Juliette and her perceived usefulness.
Totally loving the single life and captaining his ship with his rag-tag crew through space on his family’s trading vessel he thinks he’s living the dream and there’s no room in it for a useless pesky human.
Juliette herself was a very practical girl; a genius when it comes to technology and used to relying soling on herself due to lack of family entanglements it has also left her with a serious case of baggage.
with abandonment and trust issues she has closed off her heart with a brick wall.
On the run from some self-created trouble back on her home planet, Juliette plans to lie low till the dust settles.
Tarriks parents, mainly his mother want him to settle down with a mate so this is how these two very different individuals end up being paired together by Celestial and rubbing each other up in all the right and wrong ways.
And get ready to watch the sparks fly as these two sure turn up that heat in more ways than one.
So this one was a mega fun read and though short packed a real punch.
It was very easy to get lost in and had just the right mix of ingredients to hold my attention.
It had some great characters along with such incredibly fun world building a super enjoyable experience overall.
A big thumbs up from me folks.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-1/5/18

I really enjoyed The Goodnight Kiss; it totally managed to engage and hold my attention and I was hooked from the minute I opened this and started reading.
I initially was bouncing between a four or a five-star rating as there were some very slight issues here for me, but this did such a great job of entertaining me and was also glued to my hand throughout that I went with my initial gut feeling and awarded it its full five stars.
The plotline here revolves around sixteen-year-old Nic Rutherford a human with a strange ability to deliver a deadly death sentence with her kiss.
Adopted by her mysterious aunts and with no memories of her time before they entered her life Nic lives her life hidden in plain sight.
Covering up her inner nature with the help of teenage camouflage Nic embraces her inner killer all with a little help from her adopted family.
When a strange boy joins her school that only she recognises as out of place; Nic knows life as she knows it is about to take a huge side-step and Nic along with her new but strangely familiar friend is about to embark on a journey that she may or may not ultimately survive.
So this was a cool read that I found so easy to get lost in; it had great characters alongside a fantastic backdrop of mythology blended with fantasy.
I have a huge soft spot for anything that dabbles in the mythology ballpark and this went one step better blending into the mix Mythology, fantasy and the Fae so I was in heaven.
I found the fact that Nic herself claimed herself as A-Sexual; (a first for me in fiction) to be such a fascinating prospect, especially considering the backdrop of events here that later come to light.
Maybe that past even contributing to her current state of affairs.
I also loved Aiden Jager as well but did think that some past events could have been avoided if he had just stepped up to the plate and dealt.
He was not just a victim of others manipulations he also played a main role and the martyr mantle, in my opinion, is very overrated.
I understand the manipulations he was up against but he went in with his eyes wide open so totally new the score so to speak.
I guess what I’m trying to say is “The Goodnight Kiss” for me deals with imperfect individuals and nobody here was exactly blameless.
Trying to be vague here folks but it was the above that really made me consider dropping this a star.
So this was quite different to what I was initially expecting but in a totally positive way.
It had just the correct balance of ingredients to appeal and I’m really looking forward to the next instalment and seeing where this may actually go next especially in regards to the new tentative romance that is slowly blossoming between Nic and Aiden.
I was ecstatic this didn’t conclude on a massive cliffhanger, we are just left with such anticipation for the next instalment.
This was for me a fantastic start to what looks to be a great new series.
So I was provided with an ARC of “The Goodnight Kiss (The Unseelie Court #1)” By Netgalley of which I have reviewed voluntary.

🌹ARC BOOK REVIEW🌹

Release Date-30th June 2018
Genre-Sci-Fi Romance
Kindle Edition

Steel is TOTALLY a standalone read.

Baz Rutland

A lost soul, a cyborg in search of a future. He aims to upgrade his most intimate tool and BIG and HARD will do, but what does a man really need to be perfect again?

Ember

A Principle Data extraction expert employed by CESS Industries – a princess in lay terms. She’s in search of her past and her parents but who is she really? If she ever finds out who killed her parents, she will rain destruction down upon them, in some nerd-geek way, like by remote-opening the airlocks on their ship so they die horribly.

Her biggest secret and fetish is her love of the BIG guys, like the orcs, but she would never ever act on that unless she had nothing left to lose.

Hoss

Half-Orc, half Shag, and a hairy beast, he shaves to blend into the mass of humanity populating the galaxies. All he has ever wanted is to be wanted in return, to be loved and find a mate. But what hope of that when he’s a rejected half-breed?

Warning:
Like PREY, this book is not gritty uber-dark such as Cari Silverwood often writes. It is the pansy dark you reach for when you’re all darked out and one step from seeing a therapist.

It’s carnal, naughty, and very twisted, and not what your mother ever wanted you to read. Also, there may be some robots that go PEW PEW.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-30/6/18

“Hey. Cyborg Man. Is this a good day for rescuing princesses?”

So I bloody adored “Steel” like just so much; it was such a mish-mash of carnal, sci-fi delight with a dash of slapstick humour and a big glug of ridiculousness to accompany its also surprisingly emotive trio.
I am such a mega nerd for weird-ass shenanigans and this book had it going on in absolute spades.
Enough to satisfy even the most ardent of fornication outside the species zealots.
And here to quote the cyber-monks themselves we get treated to a big fat dollop of down and dirty Orc/Human/Cyborg porn and is it wrong that whilst also curling my toes with totally salacious delight my heart itself was also doing a pitter patter of pure bliss whenever that big sexy and did I mention big; yep I did; ( brain kinda short-circuiting here folks ) Orc/Shag up and purred for his potential mate.
Not gonna lie here; I’m such a sucker for any throaty deep purr of the feline sort, so totally suggestive and seductive in its purpose and intent.
Cross that with a crabby but amped up Cyborg and I’m in heaven; like a kid in a sweetshop with an overabundance of goodies, that’s me.
“Steel” was a raunchy romp totally worthy of its slapstick label and I mean that as a total compliment here people.
The main protagonist’s of this story here are one; Ember, Human of unknown origin, PRINCESS of CESS Industries.
A Principle Data extractor extraordinaire in fact with a weird invisible friend and a self-assigned quest to discover her past Ancestry.
Two; Hoss A mixed breed of Orc/Shag parentage employed by CESS as Embers guard and protector; a huge sexy beast with a massive penchant for his luscious charge and a very real desire to make her his mate no matter how much their particular union would be frowned upon.
And finally Three Baz; a grumpy disgruntled Cyborg who along with his crew is trawling the dead-space in his junk bucket of a ship; just looking to rescue a Princess for the Cyber-monks in return for an upgrade of the intimate variety.
So that’s the main gist here really and when these three misfits destinies collide its a non-stop race of classic one-liners, ridiculous plotlines and some seriously filthy hook-ups that as well as being pure smut was also so much fun to kick back and just revel in..
It’s almost like a carry on film of the sci-fi steampunk variety and I myself inhaled the cockamamie Narrative like it was oxygen and the more farcical and absurd events played out; the more I devoured like the whole nine yards and more.
So “Steel” is like seriously knicker dripping or dropping fine.
Everything wrong about this also makes it so right.
I had a mega hard-on (If I had one that Is) for Hoss; such a delicious Orc/Shag, I adored his furry ass like a whole bloody lot.
He for me was hands down my favourite thing in this whole Zany pantomime; with Maybe Baz’s Monster mechanical appendage coming in a very close second.
What can I say; I am a female after all and Baz’s cyborg enhancements well let’s just say Anne summers eat your heart out.
Hoss was the one ultimately in charge of this threeway here and for me, that worked you know with me being like his own personal fan club and all.
I was all for the Hoss.
So I think its safe to say here from my above noise I really was digging the whole entire she-bang here.
This isn’t really going to be for everyone of course, but if you like something a bit out of the box and outside the traditional then maybe take a chance on this, you might even surprise yourself.
On a side-note, the Orc featured here Hoss is way up on the attractive scale despite his monobrow; and not at all like the minging ORCS from Tolkien; just saying; being The official Spokeswoman for the Hoss fan-club and all wanted to put that out there.
Don’t Diss the Hoss he’s a total Orc babe

To stay ‘alive’, a stoneshifter must make love to a female every ten years.

When Mila discovers her sister will be the next victim on Sacrifice Day, her normal reply would be, sorry, I’m busy.

After viewing ancient data and seeing the massive size of stoneshifters, Mila decides to rescue Tiana. Her sister is blood and she’d rather not see her tied to the sacrifice table and turned into jam.

Everything goes wrong, of course.

Lord Zarblu, stoneshifter and owner of the enormous black fortress looming over the city, turns his gaze upon Mila.

Like a giant cat with a teensy mouse, Zarblu plays with Mila. Catch…release…catch. Gentle and caring are words that no stone-beast monster should claim, surely?

Desiring something that might kill you is insane yet the sacrifice table begins to look attractive. Zarblu is a big, strong, determined male who’s had a thousand, thousand years to contemplate life.

What if he isn’t quite the monster she thought he was…
What if he wants her to be his sacrifice?

Warning: This is a very graphic and carnal story for those who love the fantasy of being caught by a monster.
This is not the normal level of dark that Cari Silverwood writes. This is the dark you reach for when you’re all darked out and one step from seeing your therapist. Some of this story is FUN. Dark twisted fun, but fun nevertheless.

giphy (1).gif
What did I just read this book was so strange; I have never quite experienced anything quite like it and that’s saying something as I’ve read a lot of weird and wonderful fiction.
This is Monster Erotica; Yeh I kid you not, bloody Monster’s.
And in “Prey (Dark Monster Fantasy #1” we are introduced to Lord Zarblu a Stoneshifter; who every decade has to take a willing female sacrifice on an altar of lust; to avoid petrifying for the next ten years and guess what he has a monster cock too and the sacrifice is going to need a lot of preparation to accommodate and avoid being ripped to shreds by Zarblu’s monster appendage; death by dick I’ve heard is not a very attractive way to go.
The sacrifice herself Mila; mercenary, explorer and thief; a small female earthling is all gung-ho ready to rescue her sister from the Stoneshifters Altar and from the first instant Zarblu encounters the feisty earthling he wants to replace his current offering with this fascinating earthling; he’s just got to get her to cooperate; easy right.
So Look; if you’re looking for some serious emotive fiction; this is not it; what we do have here is some Fun, hot completely ridiculous alien monster erotica; it’s surprisingly addictive and does what it says on the tin.
this is a short read that I read in one sitting and I did quite enjoy it once I got over my initial; what the hell am I reading moment.
Its sort of like a porno neverending story for adults.
Sorry; I just couldn’t stop picturing the rock biter in that film as Lord Zarblus stone altar form; not very sexy and comfortable at all I would think; so swiftly moving on here from that non-sexy visual.
giphy.gif
This short read was jam-packed with alien beings. talking swords, arena fights and a psychotic Android who really just needed to get laid.
Its never going to win literature awards, but it was never meant to; what we have here is a big hot pile of tongue in cheek, steamy dub-con fun.
It definitely won’t be for everyone, but I love weird so I kinda was digging its vibe all the same.
Give it a go you might surprise yourself.

🌹ARC BOOK REVIEW🌹

Genre-Paranormal Romance
Kindle Edition

Includes the first 10 chapters of Blood Drenched Conquest, book 3 in the Ryze Series!

+Blood Flows Deep+

Fourteen-thousand years ago, I locked away my powers.
The loss of one woman took everything from me. I made a deal to wait. To sacrifice an innocent that would be born in the far future to bring my beloved back.
Then I laid eyes on that girl . . . and everything I thought I knew got shredded to shit.
She’s reawakened the monster in me.
The madness.
The hunger.
The creature that demands a taste of her flesh.
Even worse, for the first time in my long, brutal existence, the monster is demanding her blood.
I’ve mated to my victim.
I’ll have no choice but to keep my promise. I have to sacrifice her. And the moment I do . . .
We’re both going to die.

+Blood Stained Tranquility+

Within the red and black shadows of doom, all I see are my victims. The sinners I need to destroy.
And her.
Always her.
I want to despise her for what her past did to me. A single look into her eyes and the creature trapped inside me broke free.
You see, I’m a fucking sham. A pretender. I wasn’t born as Zeniel, God of Tranquility.
I was born as Mavrak, the war demon God of Vengeance.
He killed millions across the dimensions once.
To avenge and protect her, he’ll destroy millions once again.
For her, I’ll let my powers of Tranquility die in a maelstrom of blood . . .
Even if it means killing everyone else that I love.

So this is a re-release of book one and two in N. Isabelle Blanco’s fantastic Ryze series.
It also has an additional bonus of the first ten chapters of “Blood Drenched Conquest” book three; and its worth buying for that fact alone.
So I’ve broken this down into two separate camps; to give you more of an impression of where my thoughts were going with these two excellent stories.
But really to me, this could easily read as one extra weighty action-packed volume of deliciousness just waiting to be devoured by the reader.
On a side note, the cover art used for this particular series is gorgeous and would make me want to read it for that fact alone
so here goes.

Blood Flows Deep (Ryze #1)
31393676
Blood Flows Deep (Ryze #1) by N. Isabelle Blanco was a really great start to what is shaping up to be a fantastic new series.
I’m not a newcomer to this author having previously read her Voyeur collaboration; which incidentally I adored.
But this was so different to anything I expected, and I mean that in a completely positive way.
This was just so imaginative and though I was expecting Ismini and Dyletri’s story here what we got was just so much more.
Dyletri is the god of lust and Ismini; the female Dy has waited aeons for; not for his own but to sacrifice to the fates to bring back his lost love Diminthia.
Well, that was never going to end well ay?
So moving on here “Blood Flows Deep” was so rich in truly developed characters; who displayed such individualism and diversity it was an actual pleasure to experience.
While this story was developing; the author was weaving such an intricate web; with so many overlaps and intricacies, it was truly a staggering feat.
The only reason I didn’t rate this much higher was there were certain incidences in the fabric of this tale that were not to my taste; however this authors story welding skills; were truly a super-power and for that reason alone you need to read this.
After this book, you will definitely need to soldier on regardless; it was like a compulsion to get to that fated finale.
This is told from multiple POV; I usually can’t abide this at all; here I loved it; it just seemed to fit the author’s way of narrating.
this truly was a pleasure to read and it was only some slight personal preferences that pulled this down.
Onwards and upwards to the next exciting, action-filled episode of this series.

Blood Stained Tranquility (Ryze, #2)
31344421
This was the second instalment in N. Isabelle Blanco’s “Ryze” series and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Starting immediately where we previously left off “Blood Stained Tranquility (Ryze, #2)” is everything its predecessor was and more.
This slightly has the edge for me in terms of content; there wasn’t really much I didn’t like here, and if book one was a good read; this was a fabulous one.
Here we have Evesse from book one and Zeniel; her new mate; who also happens to be the God of Tranquility along with something a little extra; almost like a two for one-er.
Zeniel is battling his dual personality here and you really get such a feel for the agony he is currently enveloped in.
This was such an emotional read; so much more so than the first book in this series.
Don’t get me wrong; that had plenty of emotion too; this just takes it to a whole new level of meaning; I was transfixed throughout.
As usual, the action here was off the hook, both in and out the bedroom.
And yes, I’m speaking metaphorically here; the gods between these pages didn’t actually care where they fornicated and their antics were smoking hot with it.
This is again told from multiple POV’s and adds; if it’s even possible; more new characters to an already overflowing cast.
You would think this would be an issue; keeping straight all the multiple pathways and individuals; it’s not.
This was actually really easy to follow along with despite the huge cast.
Quite the story-weaver was our author.
There is so much potential for story growth here that I’m mega excited to see where this goes.
This was a really fantastic imaginative read and I’m so looking forward to the next in the series.

Thank You to the Author for providing me with a review copy of “Ryze Series 1-2 ” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

My name is Mavi StClair.
I’m a monster with a pretty face. An assassin in trade. Guilt, remorse, it’s never touched me. I’m as cold as they come and just as professional.

My downfall begins with a single night of untamed passion leaving me hungering for more of him.
One wicked soul recognizing another.
Now he owns me.
The lines of what I know are blurred.

He won’t let me go.
Taking pleasure in my fall from grace.
Question is, can I save myself before I’m damned completely?

From the minute I started reading this I was hooked.
I’m a sucker for a dark depraved read and this one for me definitely hit the spot.
I do so adore me a twisted Heroine that struggles but eventually embraces her dark side and with Mavi StClaire we get this in spades.

She is one bad flower as the mysterious Max liked to call her.
And this is one girl who makes no apologies for who she is and keeps her cards close to her chest, trying to keep everyone at arm’s length is in her very nature.
And this includes the secretive but decadent Max.
As for the mysterious Max, loved him so much also, he himself comes enveloped in secrets and lies a matching bookend to match Mavi’s depravity and darkness a born manipulator who oozes sexual charisma and luckily for Mavi he likes his girls a touch on the psycho side.

 photo images_zpsfpumrath.jpg

I loved all many side characters portrayed here each and every one was a well rounded and diverse individual and there was also never a dull moment in regards to the action portrayed here this book was packed.
A playground for heaven and hell, filled with battles and conflict galore.
I’m being a bit Vague as I don’t want to spoil this, you just need to dive right in and immerse yourself in this violent and bloody world.
so this felt fresh.
In a sea of paranormal offerings, it came across as original and different making it really stand out in its genre.
It also helped that “The Devil You Know” was all sorts of hot and sexy.
With Plenty of appeal here to tempt a sinner or a saint.
It had so many twists and turns that I never saw coming and it was fully ramped right up to its shocking finale.
Totally gobsmacked at the ending and can’t wait for the next chapter of this addictive story.
Enjoy.

“Divine Merit” was a new unique take on the Nephilim world.
A paranormal offering which I enjoyed much more than I originally thought I would.
This tale revolves around The Princess, Amira and the head of her royal guard and longtime crush Caeden.
It’s full of the charm of a budding first relationship.
Whilst also the intrigues and power play of a royal court in action.
What started out as an easy read for me quickly evolved into a much more tangled web than I was originally expecting.
And once this pepped up it was non stop action throughout and a storyline that certainly kept me on my toes and more.
This book was definitely a pleasant surprise it contained well rounded likeable individuals as well as your classic villains and also had plenty of scope for further storyline development and growth.
I am so looking forward to seeing where this is headed and what lies in store for all as the plot develops.
Do give this a go, its a fantastic addition to its genre and if you like your paranormal these ones for you.

Thrax’s pheromones are compelling, and his status as a fellow unwilling test subject makes them allies, but Claire isn’t certain she can trust someone who is convinced she belongs to him, when all she wants to do is find a way to return home to Earth—a place that her devoted alien can never follow, because there’s no way the scorpion-like alien would ever be able to pass for human.
Still, she’ll accept help where she can find it, so she doesn’t hesitate to escape with Thrax from the facility, though their time running from their pursuers in the warrens beneath the research facility will forever change Claire, and could make it impossible for her to return to Earth.
But will there be anywhere else in the galaxy they can go where their love will be accepted?

Plus a BONUS Full-length novel:
Into the Dead Fall
Though she was raised by a survivalist, Alice was not prepared to be ripped from her dimension and dropped without ceremony into the massive junkyard of a parallel dimension.

She’s wounded, alone, and lost in a world her mind struggles to comprehend. When a strange, four-armed alien comes to her aid, saving her life, she has no choice but to accept his help.

She finally starts growing comfortable around her leonine companion, until another warrior intervenes to save her when creatures from the Dead Fall attack them during their exploration, making everything much more complicated.

Alice still doesn’t understand what either of the warriors is saying, and if she can’t find the right words to soothe her beastly new protectors, they’ll end up killing each other.

Author’s Note: 18+ These books contain scenes that are not suitable for younger audiences. It should also be noted that the alien heroes in these books look alien in many ways, and their cultures and mating habits might not be for everyone.

So there are two stories in this omnibus and in my opinion both were good enough and long enough to be in a stand-alone edition.
Each was very different and if I had to pick a favourite out of the two book one “The Scorpion’s Mate” won it hands down for me.
That’s not to say the second book in this omnibus “Into The Dead Fall” is any slouch either I enjoyed that one also.
Now I’m a strange one, and this sort of story, aliens that look and act like real aliens is a real guilty pleasure of mine, And as I like my stories well developed with a proper connection between the principal characters, the pickings for this type of fiction and that is also well written, is so very slim indeed.
I’m a huge fan of R. Lee Smith who is another fantastic author of these types of books and had yet to find anyone to live up to her alien stories.
I am happy to say, Susan Trombley has and I am keeping my fingers crossed that she has more of this to come.
So the first story”The Scorpions Mate” tells the story of Claire who is kidnapped by aliens and locked up in a research facility.

 photo download 3_zpsrcbcbeux.jpg

Claire is a quirky sort who has never quite fit in on earth, in the research facility she is mated to Thrax a genetically engineered Soldier who was a sort of deadly giant scorpion before they spliced his DNA for experimentation.
Thrax imprints on Claire and as she falls for an unlikely hero Claire realises to stay with Thrax is to renounce returning to earth as he could never fit in there looking the way he does.
I loved this story like so much, it’s hard to explain you’ve just got to be there to get it.
I loved how wild and protective Thrax was towards Claire while still being completely deadly to all else.
The second story “Into The Dead Fall” is completely different and actually involves two aliens and no it’s not a menage it’s more of a two husbands kind of story.
I wasn’t a fan of this and would have prefered to have kept to the one alien
In this one, Alice is sucked through a nexus into a post-apocalyptic landscape

 photo htSSjgG_zpsjihj3gwr.jpg

and is initially injured luckily for her Iyaren is there to rescue her and nurse her wounds but with a language barrier between them, it’s a hard slog.
Iyaren is a kind of lion-like alien and lonely is happy for the company.

 photo GW313H326_zpsrevqcuju.jpg

Now I would have been happy to rest with the sexy lion but here we have another alien also attracted to Alice Tak a sort of Lizard-like creature sees and bonds with her

 photo a1bd0cd29b75d4abad9ac493a967f40a_zpsex23tvfc.jpg

when the two realise Alice cant choose they suggest both taking care of her.
Tak and Iyaren are from the same planet and can communicate Tak can also understand Alice as he had a procedure done to allow this,
there is a lot more to these two imaginative tales but I’ve given you the bare bones above to give you a rough idea.
Please don’t be put off by the very real aliens contained within these pages, give this a try, what have you got to lose, you might actually surprise yourself and really enjoy the tales told here.
So anyway these are well written, emotive and engaging and from what I can see there is plenty of opportunity in both landscapes for future story growth.
The author has set this up very nicely.
I really can’t recommend each of these stories enough and I enjoyed every word.

The Godfather meets Guardians of the Galaxy in this crazy-ass adventure set on Viridian, a prison planet full of aliens…who want to eat you. Tig, the only human, is thrust into a lose/lose/lose situation when the mob boss he works for asks him to pick up and deliver a package that the Fed—the governing body of the known universe—also wants. To make matters worse, the “package” has curves for days, an attitude to match, and her own agenda for how this is all going down.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-10/4/18

I really enjoyed The Viridian Convict by Sam York I found it was just so different and a very unique concept.
What initially appealed to me here was the idea of a prison planet colony sort of like an alien version of Kurt Russel’s Escape from New York.
I just wasn’t expecting to like it quite as much as I did.
And once I got used to all the various terminology being bandied about here, I very quickly became immersed in all the colourful narrative used throughout.
This also contained a lot more romance than I was expecting, which was again fab for me as I’m a sucker for a bit of the old love dust.
“The Viridian Convict was fast and furious from the get-go and I adored all the many diverse characters portrayed here.
Tig, Angel, Granny and Tig’s stinky partner one-eye, loved them all in various ways.
This was in a way rather slapstick at times but it worked and I found myself chuckling to myself throughout.
My only slight criticism here was the types of aliens contained on the prison planet all seemed to be variations of earth animals like the cluckers and the rats.
I would have prefered maybe a more imaginative approach to the alien form.
But this is only a minor gripe from me and I still enjoyed this story very much.
I was refreshingly different and I am happy to recommend this.
So I was provided with an ARC of “The Viridian Convict” By Netgalley of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Life hasn’t been easy for Isabella. She spent most of her childhood in the foster care system, and now at twenty-two, she has landed herself in prison on drug charges. Her troubled past is what makes her a perfect candidate for the government’s latest scientific endeavour, Operation Gene Re-sequencing. No one will miss her. No one will question her absence. But, when it’s discovered Isabella is immune to their DNA-changing drugs, she is selected to be used as prey for those who aren’t.

Chase and Brayden couldn’t be more opposite; Chase is calm, reserved, and completely insistent that he will control the changes the virus is causing in his body. Brayden, on the other hand, has always been wild and uninhibited. He welcomes the new animalistic nature coming over him. The one thing they have in common? They both have a taste for the cute little inmate who is now sharing their cell.

ARC REVIEW COPY

I really loved the Ganga Shift, it was so different and such a unique read.
I really don’t know why I had it in my head that this was some sort of menage story, maybe the blurb.
Just goes to show you shouldn’t make assumptions.
If I was to describe this to someone I’d say it was a menagerie of crossed genres that shouldn’t work but they just do.
The Ganga Shift in execution was bloody brilliant and I was glued to my kindle from the moment I started.
What I especially enjoyed was the inclusion of Hinduism.
I am not a religious person but if I were to identify with any faith at all it would probably be this as I just find the belief system so fascinating.
Don’t misunderstand me this book isn’t overly religious or preachy.
The Ganga Shift manages to intertwine the concepts and beliefs of Hinduism with a background stealth that welds it into the overall story so naturally.
Our tale is told from numerous POV.
Chase, Brayden, Isabella and the occasional viewpoint of Shannon a nurse overseeing treatment.
So you get a really well-rounded picture of what is occurring.
There are also a few other memorable characters that show there face as well some definitely a lot nicer than others.
All in all, this was such a fascinating experience and I am happy to recommend this.
It was well written overall and had no problem keeping my attention.
This story is a distinctly different read than the norm and I am ever so glad I have given it a chance.
Thank You to the Author for proving me with an ARC of (The Ganga Shift) of which I have reviewed voluntary.
