Release Date-10th September 2018
Genre-Fantasy Romance
Kindle Edition-277 Pages

When Kellan, Wolf King of the North, meets his fated mate, she is only a child. He immediately brokers a betrothal and, on the day after her 20th birthday, whisks her away to his castle in the Northland. Kellan is elated, believing he has everything he has ever wanted. His new wife, Nora, doesn’t quite share the same sentiment.

Before Kellan has time to court her, Nora is attacked. An ancient brotherhood refuses to allow an heir of one kingdom onto the throne of another. All four factions in the land of Imperium appear to be involved in a surreptitious struggle for power … while Nora hides a few secrets of her own.

***The Wolf King’s Bride is the first book in the Fate of Imperium Series. Each book is the story of a different king and his fated mate. While the three books do not have to be read in order, it is highly recommended.

The Wolf King's Bride (Fate of Imperium, #1)

The Wolf King’s Bride by C.A. Worley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Copy of Copy of The Love Detective
I have never read anything by this particular before but as this sounded so intriguing on paper I decided to take a chance and have a stab at it.
I am always a trifle nervous when trying on a new writer for size what with the whole will we be a fit and am I going to like this; especially when I also have to also write a review at the end of my experience.
I am extremely happy to report that I loved “The Wolf Kings Bride” like a whole lot and I will definitely be sticking around to read the next instalment in this fascinating new fantasy series.
So, this is a stand-alone love story with an extremely heartfelt HEA.
Each book in this series is cleverly interwoven to feature at its centre a different couple but all threads are connected together to form a much larger overall picture.
Here in this first instalment, we are introduced to this exciting new paranormal fantasy world and we get to learn about the separate powerful factions that together make up the lands of Imperium.
Elementals, Wolves, Demons and vampires.
In “The Wolf Kings Bride” the story itself centres on Kellan Wolf King Of The North and his fated mate Nora; the daughter to Kind Edward king of the Elementals.
Almost instantly here I was invested in the larger picture.
Fabulous centre characters combined with romance, intrigue and action make this such an incredibly easy read to lose and immerse yourself in.
This story played out against such a rich creative backdrop assisting in the overall ambience almost transporting me away to a whole new dimension.
This in itself really helped to set the scene so splendidly here.
This has so much to offer in terms of content and I was so invested here that I managed to read this book in one complete sitting.
I adored Kellan; if I’m honest he was my favourite, he had just the right amount of adorability crossed with his Alpha tendencies and I was hooked line and sinker on his brash bashfulness.
Nora for the most part I liked; she did have some slight annoyances to her nature that bugged me at times but I overlooked this slightly as I really did devour everything else about this story.
She eventually did see the light and overcome this so all was good in the end.
I also really liked where we left things here and can’t wait to see what direction this series will take us next.
I believe next up we have Nora’s sister Eden and the Heartless King (King of the vampires) I really can’t wait.
This one gets a wholehearted seal of approval from moi, Ive been reading a lot of dark stories lately and it made such a delicious change to just kick back and feel the love for once and this is one tale that delivers on that softer emotion in spades but while still also managing to fulfil fully on all else.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “The Wolf King’s Bride (Fate of Imperium, #1)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Genre-Omegaverse Romance
Kindle Edition-208 Pages

They call me brutal. They call me unrepentant. They call me possessive. I am all these things and much worse.

But to her, I will be conqueror.

The Golden Line is a dark, sinister Omegaverse romance for those with twisted tastes and a love for delicious villains. Complete power exchange dominates these pages, as does an attentive Alpha hero you will adore.

The Golden Line (Knotted,#1)

The Golden Line by Addison Cain
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

40398031_2118963744988505_3877913262750171136_n

Oh my friggen god I bloody adored The Golden Line (Knotted,#1) like so much.
Just when I think it can’t get any better than my previous Addison experience I get this little gem.
I don’t really want to share this; nope nope nope.
I want to keep the delectable delicious Simin and all his deep grumbly purrs all to myself; he’s not yours girls; This Adorable Alpha is all mine.

tumblr_n4zxwyhog81swbfwgo1_400.gif

Okay okay, I suppose I’m being greedy trying to keep Simil all to myself I can share the love if I absolutely have to.
So this was really a tale of two halves for me; one of which I entered rather blindly.
I really was quite literally in the dark towards where this was ultimately heading.
Experiencing alongside Morgaine her frightful treatment at the hands of her Alpha tormentors.
I was there as they broke her with there unapologetic conditioning and as she hit rock bottom my heart hurt so much for this poor confused and traumatised girl.
Frantically looking around for someone to save her I was losing all hope.
That was why it was so special to see Simin take a step out of the stereotypical box and attempt with his whole entire being to rebuild Morgaine’s shattered psyche.
To come along and take this supposed feral omega for himself but also to actually see her as an individual and person in her own right was bewitching.
So this one for me; had as ever everything that I usually find captivating and hypnotic when it comes to this authors work.
All the usual magnetism you’d expect was still produced but this was alongside a much more softer overall approach when it came to her Alpha than we are usually given.
Don’t mistake me Simil is as Alpha as they come but he also came with the ability to place his omega at a much higher importance than his own needs and wants and it was magic.

tumblr_npunooE65J1u6osmfo1_500.gif

Simin understood the best way to gain his omega Morgaine’s heart was ultimately through her trust; he had her lust but as his end game he wanted her soul also.
He was much more romantic than his predecessors and was not afraid to voice his feelings but rather than emasculating him it only enhanced his overall allure.

giphy.gif

I also think taking away the ability to communicate through language and only through an interpreter brought a new layer to Alpha and Omega expectations.
Much more care was taken considerably on Simil’s part because of the lack of verbal cues.
It made it much more crucial to observe the non-verbal signs in each other.
So this had everything you would usually expect from this series but with such a difference in approaches than what we are usually used to.
I have to say, I’m equally a fan of both ways.
I also loved the finale here; where it left us, on edge and salivating at the mouth for that next anticipated instalment.
I feel like I am poised, waiting, breathe bated in expectation; the scene has been set with such finesse.
Addison Cains omegaverse universe is fast becoming one of my all-time favourite series I can’t get enough of it, whatever light the participants are portrayed in.
So before I go I should mention that this is an extended reworked story from the Royally Mine anthology that was originally titled Consumed.
That was a short story that is no longer available; “The Golden Line” is now a full-length novel and has been extensively improved on.
This is a series I can’t recommend highly enough and gets my whole-hearted seal of approval every single time.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “The Golden Line (Knotted,#1)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

🌹BOOK REVIEW🌹

Release Date-28th August 2018
Genre-Fantasy Romance
Kindle Edition-203 Pages

Aldora lived in a bordertown on the edge of the maze. A labyrinth that spanned an eternity filled with creatures that howled through the night. She was a daughter to farmers that worked the fields and endured a quiet life as a peasant, away from the capital and its nihilistic celebrations; away from all that would look at her and discern her worth. Because to be chosen as a sacrifice was to be chosen to die. Until one night, while at the edge, she heard a husky voice in the darkness.

Vedikus Bathyr.
He prowled the overgrown passages at the farthest edges where the true, intelligent beasts roamed. They were all there for the same reasons: to kill each other and capture the humans that entered the labyrinth.

On one fated night a human girl called out to him. A girl with a voice that quickened his blood. But he wasn’t the only one to hear her call…

Minotaur is a dark fantasy romance with explicit violence and possible triggers. Mature readers only.

Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1)

Minotaur: Blooded by Naomi Lucas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

cropped-minotaur-banner-2
There was nothing hearts and roses in any shape or form about this story; in fact, it was more in my opinion about claiming and animalistic lust.
It was also if I’m being honest a trifle strange in content, so you know what it was absolutely inevitable that I was going to bloody love this.
I adore the weird and wacky and that is definitely what we are given here in spades.
This is a strange unapologetic romp filled with bloody gore and extremely graphic and carnal copulation.
Look this is going to be an acquired taste folks a bit like marmite; love or hate it people this is one that your not likely to forget in a bloody hurry.
If your easily offended or shocked then probably better to walk on by here.
Myself being a bit of a perve I found myself a spot and immediately got comfy; immersing myself fully in this unusual and strangely hot story.
Have to say this was my first minotaur romance; I have done centaur (I loved that also; see self-confessed perve here)
But here I did surely pop my cherry in all things, Bull.
I say romance lightly here as we actually have precious little of that, this is much more raw and primal in nature than romantic overtures and heartfelt declarations.
I also didn’t actually find this that dub-con in nature this to me just screamed more heavy seduction rather than rapey.
Also, this is in no shape or form bestiality either I mean yeh technically the guy has hooves and a big bull dong and even horns but the dude walks upright and can reason and talk so in my book he’s hardly there chewing the cud in a field now is he.
By that token, all shapeshifter romances would be reclassified wouldnt they.
So In “Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1)” the story is relatively simple Aldora living in a border town gets herself thrown into the Labyrinth.
Vedikus a Minotaur in the ways of his people takes Aldora for his own keeping her alive from all that would do her harm (Other than himself of course) within the labyrinth.
Determining to claim her for his mate he is willing to maim and destroy anyone who dares try to take his prize away from him.
And that’s it really; its actually quite a simple concept but I really did work.
So Vedikus himself did kind of grow on me and though Aldora did very swiftly accept her fate here I found I didn’t have it in me to care that much, this really for me was pure unadulterated fantasy at its very best and I devoured every wicked scenario I was given gladly.
The only reason I marked this down to a four rather than a five is I would have liked to have seen a bit more of them actually settled as a couple when they reached Vedikus’s home other than that I was a happy camper.
I will definitely be indulging in the next book in this series Minotaurs are now my new flavour of strange but sexy.
I borrowed Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1) with my KU subscription.

Release Date-1st December 2016
Genre-Sci-Fi Dark Romance
Kindle Edition-401 Pages

There is no Quinn without Que.

Her only family murdered, the males of her species governing the prison designed to contain her, she mourns. Que had been her world, but it is Sovereign who enters her body day and night.

No man has loved a woman more, and no woman has hated a man with such passion.

She cannot help it. Designed to be the perfect slave soldier, programmed to exterminate her own kind, Sigil wants nothing more than to butcher those who would save her.

Sovereign’s many Brothers lavish her with attention, taking turns practising seduction to woo the only female who might propagate their species. No matter twisting limbs or thrusting bodies, no matter opulent gifts and distraction, Sigil sees what they seek to hide.

There is a dangerous secret Sovereign and his Brothers cannot conceal forever, though they are willing to risk the empire, their lives, and even her sanity trying. Is that not the definition of love?

Publisher’s Note: The second instalment in Addison Cain’s provocative and raw Irdesi Empire series is a dark tale with explicit sexual themes and complete power exchange. Some scenes are written to be disturbing. If such material offends you, please do not purchase.

Sovereign (Irdesi Empire, #2)

Sovereign by Addison Cain
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This gets a full house in regards to my rating just because as per usual whether I actually liked where the story was heading or not there was no way on heaven or earth anyone would have been able to prise me away from this disturbing tale of events.

giphy

I don’t want to actually go into to much detail here mainly because this just needs to be experienced in all its unapologetic entirety.
To actually comprehend the whys and whatevers of all involved here you need to intermesh yourself fully into the landscape and mindsets of all involved.
We are dealing with an almost hive mindset with a morally reprehensible outlook on all its society.
So basically the alliance and sigil are actually the bad guys and though you never can really condone their actions I could at least get to a point in my head where I could see how they had arrived at this current crossroads in the Alliances overall objective.
It is really all about protecting and acquiring precious sigil she is really the key to everything that has occurred and will occur despite her abhorrence for this fact.
In Sovereign, we delve more into the emotional side of Sigil but don’t expect her to suddenly blossom into all that is good and kind Our precious girl is still the psychotic sociopathic killer from the previous book as the brothers discover time and time again.
This story was so interesting and despite certain directions that I would have prefered otherwise, I was transfixed throughout; Addison Cain is definitely an author I can’t get enough of.
Her dark mind delves into crevises others fear to tread appaling and enthralling me equally.
So this was left in my opinion slightly open-ended for future story development which was great as I felt I got closure while still eagerly anticipating the next shocking chapter.
As such I am happy to wait even though I really do want it right now; just because I am so bloody impatient for my next fix.
I am going to leave you with my favourite quote from the whole book just to entice.

“Stop?” Sovereign’s grip tightened his voice razor blades. “It is always stop, isn’t it? I give you gentleness, you fight. I build you an empire, you hate me for it! I could take you here, on these very dead right now. I could make you, and you couldn’t stop me—just like you couldn’t stop me on Pax. I could push into your body anytime I wanted.” He bit at her mouth, lapped her lips before he shoved the startled woman away. “There is no STOP! There is only wait. Wait while you fuck my Brother. Wait while you mourn a being who never loved you. And I will wait, Sigil. You would be surprised how far my patience will extend. But there is never, ever going to be a stop. I don’t even think the grave could keep me from you

He will possess her in every way.

After a century, The Irdesi Emperor has finally cornered their species’ only female. Sovereign and his fanatic brothers are closing in, driving Sigil to desperation.

They outnumber her, they are stronger, and they are relentless.

Sovereign knows her secrets better than Sigil knows herself. He knows she was conditioned to hate him. It changes nothing. The Emperor cannot help but crave her—just as his loyal brothers crave her.

The entire future of their species hinges on Sovereign’s ability to dominate the slippery renegade and make her feel the truth of what she is. She is his Consort. She is his obsession—a bride destined to be shared with and adored by his kin… to be satiated and ruled, to be overpowered and healed of her compulsions by any means necessary.

She has no choice in the matter. The empire will stop at nothing. Sigil will belong to them; she will be made to love them, even if they are forced to rip the galaxy apart to claim her.

I suppose we’re both monsters; Black hair hung in his eyes as he turned her chin to taste her mouth. “At least I didn’t try to eat her, lost lamb.

Oh, my Star and moon this was bloody good.
Like seriously I really couldn’t get enough of this darkly sadistic depraved tale.
I’m not even sure how to start describing this madhouse of mayhem.
So this places us in a fictional fantasy landscape set in space, so its a sci-fi Yes?
Well, it sort of is but its also so much more sci-fi / Erotica / Horror / dystopian; We have a bit of everything all mashed up together to create this fantastical adventure that I honestly have nothing to compare it to.
everything that shouldn’t have worked did; this author has the exceptional ability to create whole masterpieces when it comes to her world building skills.
This is something she absolutely excels at.
What she’s is also a master at is giving me a story that I didn’t even know I wanted never mind needed.
I am having quite a time lately with dark fiction that I am actually struggling to accept emotionally which as a result is reflecting in my final book ratings.
I am not even sure what the correct combination for myself even is so to expect anyone else to get it is a bloody long stretch, but Addison Cain seems to have punched my ticket because she gets the formula correct for me every single time.
Definite auto-buy author.
This is dark dubious material skirting the edge constantly in regards to its content.
dub-con bordering at times on non-con and I seriously devoured every depraved scenario we were given here.

Oh, Sigil.” Sovereign slid his lips over her ear. “It had to happen this way. Can you not already feel me working inside you, undoing the damage? Does it not satisfy to be mounted by your own kind? Every time we mate, you’ll know completion. You’ll chemically recognize your place until you are healed of the poison they inflicted on you to punish me.

Sigil/Quinn is a complete psychopath with very few redeeming qualities of these anomalies was her compulsion to save neglected children and provide them with an alternative (probably an understandable result of her own horrific childhood)
And her love of Que her unemotional alien companion and saviour.
Her devotion and internal gratitude to this particular individual is very apparent.
While playing the role of master and slave on the space station Pax Sigil is discovered by the very species that she has been evading for years.
With Sovereign and the brothers ready to reclaim Sigil as imperial Consort to the Irdesi empire they are willing to do whatever it takes to claim and dominate this elusive escapee.
Sigil is right back at ya and the trials and agonies she is willing to endure to evade sovereigns attentions was truly astounding.
Sovereign I’m still not sure of but I do think he generally cares in his own unique fashion and even when he does what is necessary his words still reflect his hope and blind devotion that Sigil will return his affections some day.
We left Sigil (Irdesi Empire #1) on a shocking cliffhanger that had me screaming NO!!!

how-could-you-do-this-caskett-31953564-245-250.gif

Will be starting the next instalment immediately after that one; how could I not.
Before I go just a small observation Sigil, in my opinion, is one of the most crazy-ass female characters I have ever encountered.
I mean geez this girl has actually eaten people.

Quinn envisioned plucking out one of his unimaginable eyes and crushing it to jelly—or maybe eating it, swallowing down a piece of him while he watched. The fantasy blossomed, made her smile, and she slipped further into manic bloodlust.

CarefreeSparseHarrier.gif

What am I saying she was completely the bomb and I adored her crazy lab-engineered butt.
You so rock girlie.
I am really looking forward to my next Sigil fix.
This won’t be one for everyone, but this one was definitely my particular brand of bad.
As an added bonus Sigil (Irdesi Empire #1) is also available through KU.

Genre-Alien Sci-Fi Romance
Kindle Edition-228 Pages

Giselle didn’t know how long she lay near catatonic willing the terrible headache to go away. She sat up as one of the reptilian aliens entered. Giselle backed up and looked around realizing she was alone in a gilded cage.
“What’s going on?” She stammered.
“If you’re wise you’ll keep quiet, pets don’t speak on this planet.” The creature admonished.
A pet? Giselle’s eyes widened. She hadn’t misheard.
Her cage was moved into a large tent. There were hundreds of aliens gathered for the auction, and these creatures were the largest yet. Their flesh was red like some kind of demon might be, with hair a uniform dark black. From what Giselle could see their eyes were a stone cold obsidian hue. Giselle noticed the fearsome creatures had long tails that rose out from what looked like chain mail kilts. Giselle shrunk back when she saw the creatures also had sharp fangs.
How in the hell could she get out of this and if she did how could she possibly survive on an alien planet?

Kagan beheld his pet. Nothing like her kind had ever set foot on Cadi. Kagan wondered where in the universe her unique species hailed from.
Giselle refused to behave and even enjoyed his attempts to rebuke her, reveling in the rough handling a male usually held back with females. Giselle was brave instead of meek, standing up for herself in a sea of foreigners.
Kagan had at first insisted that Giselle understand her place in Cadi society. But something more valuable than precious metal or jewels would be lost if Giselle was forced into the role everyone thought she belonged.

Can Giselle find acceptance and love on an alien planet or will she always be nothing more than a warrior’s pet?

I really did enjoy “The Warriors Pet” It’s been a while since I read me a good Alien romance and this one ticked all my boxes.
If I had one criticism though ( and this is where it lost a star for me ) its that I had to suspend my disbelief slightly as the story unfolded.
Giselle the Pet of the forenamed book title manages to completely turn opinions around as she slowly morphs into this super wise woman who excels at everything she does including war-mongering.
Bringing to a head years of conflict between two opposite warring factions.
I really just couldn’t see it myself; despite this, I still adored events here; losing myself in the rich well-developed landscape this author has constructed with such finesse.
So after Giselle is abducted from earth she founds herself auctioned off as a pet.
Eventually finding herself the personal Pet of Kagan.
Giselle is the opposite to everything a Cadi woman is; Bold, Brave and outspoken and it’s not long before Kagan starts to realise he just might have met his match in his new little plaything.
But stuck on a planet where Giselle is seen as little more than property can she change the attitudes around her and win her man.
So this was a great imaginative read that captured and kept my attention so easily.
It was told in dual POV; Kagen and Giselle’s and captured their essences beautifully.
I was super invested in all the outcomes here and despite some instances where I would have prefered a slightly different scenario than what we were given I still essentially loved most things about this.
I am a sucker for Aliens that actually resemble aliens and that is what we are given here with tail fangs and all and this for me was a massive plus point in this story’s favour.
Oh, and as an added incentive this was also smokin hot also; like set the pages to blazing.
So this gets a definite thumbs up from me It’s a fun sexy read that really manages to deliver.
A great start to a new series.

The fate of his people rests in her hands.

teasers3.jpg

This was my first book by this author and while I did somewhat enjoy “Iced” in some places this really wasn’t my complete bag.
I was actually really looking forward to this as the blurb really intrigued me and I do so love me an alien that looks like an alien romance.
So It wasn’t any one thing in particular that turned me off here.
I think it was just an overall combination of issues that didn’t quite gel for me.
Together they just stopped me emotionally connecting which was a shame because as I said earlier this on paper sounded so good.
So this is part of a larger series where each particular instalment is written by a different author.
I know, cool ay; I thought so too.
Each book can be read as a standalone while still being part of a larger picture.
I myself read “Iced” as a standalone and it did work.
I had no problem following along here despite being a newcomer to this alien world.
So Kira and Duke; this is where I had issues I didn’t particularly like Kira I found her rather judgy

ok_040513_joan-judgy.gif

I also struggled with Duke as well the way he was all about second-guessing Kira’s motives and all they were like matching bookends in the judgmental department.
Not very nice personality traits and all, as a result, I actually struggled to feel their connection.
I was just not feeling the love here.

5YMT

Look this wasn’t awful; I just didn’t live up to my initial expectations and also didn’t leave much of an impression on me probably because I didn’t really care that much about Kira or Duke.
I did finish and it did have its moments.
I guess for me this was more of a middle of the road read.
I borrowed “Iced” with my KU subscription.

Really enjoyed “Rogue Cyborg” for some reason I could have sworn I had already read this author before; my bad, I so haven’t weird that as I was convinced I had mmm strange one that.

tenor.gif

Well anyway, nope this is definitely a new author for me but one I would definitely read again.
This was book 6 in the Interstellar Brides series but I read it as a standalone and had no issues following along with the current storyline.
Everything is fairly self-explanatory here and it was really easy to get lost in this rich well-developed sci-fi story.
I do so love me a good alien romance and “Rogue Cyborg” delivered in spades.
It was fast paced well imagined and super sexy.
I adored both Mak and Gwen they made such a fabulous couple and I was rooting for them all the way here.
This was told in dual POV my favourite and was so smokin hot I needed a bucket of the cold stuff to extinguish the burn.
This had a great secondary cast and if you have read the previous books in this series prepare to get re-acquainted to some past staring players.
All in all, this was a fun read that totally captured my imagination and If you like a bit of the old Sci-Fi romance like myself then this one will probably be your flavour.
This gets a definite seal of approval from moi.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Rogue Cyborg” which I have reviewed voluntary.

He wants her released into the enclosure. He wants to hunt her.

Recaptured during her escape from zone four, Maci Bishop wakes up in the mysterious, heavily fortified zone two, where wealthy citizens come to sate sordid, homicidal appetites by hunting death row inmates in a wooded enclosure. Live on camera, for spectators watching from the Resort.

Maci is rented as a plaything for a guest at the Resort, but when she kills her first customer in self-defence, her life sentence quickly becomes a death sentence. To teach the other women a lesson, the warden throws Maci into the enclosure, to be hunted alongside a vicious death row inmate named Callum.

Though at first, he believes the beautiful, half-naked woman is bait intended to lure him out, Callum saves Maci from a brutal death. As they fight their way through the enclosure, taking on hunters, guards, and ruthless robotic hounds, he falls hard for the tiny, clever hellcat and discovers she may just have the skills to get them both out of the enclosure alive.

But Maci won’t abandon the other women to pay for her escape. Not again. She won’t be satisfied until she shuts down the entire Resort: clients, guards, hounds, and all. And there’s no way in hell Callum will let her walk into the lion’s den alone…

Hunter is a 75,000+ word novel set on a planet populated by violent criminals, so expect a gritty story about characters who have to fight to protect each other and their relationship.

In most cases, the only difference between the guards and the inmates is the uniform each wears

“Hunter” is the second book in the prison planet series and I enjoyed this even more than the first if that’s even possible.
This continues right after the events at the end of book one.
And this time we get to spend time with Maci as she is transferred to zone 2 as entertainment for the wealthy patrons of The Resort.
This book is a totally different ballgame than its predecessor each instalment having such a distinctly unique flavour.
So after accidentally killing one of the paying customers, Maci is thrown into the enclosure alongside fellow death row inmate Callum to be hunted live for the viewer’s amusement by the deceased’s brother.
Think Escape from the New-York / Running Man / The Hunger Games but with super sexy shenanigans and you’ll get the basic picture.

Unable initially to speak the same language and despite some initial suspicion understandably on Callum’s behalf; these two very swiftly bond; pulled together through there shared experiences and also through utter necessity each needing the others skill-sets for there very survival.
At the onset, their lack of spoken language maybe helping them to bond in a much more physical fashion.
Actions sometimes speaking louder than words.

He lifts a thick strand of my hair to his face and sniffs again. Then he rubs it on his cheek and says a word I hope means soft. Or pretty. Or something complimentary. Anything other than, “After I kill you I’m going to eat your flesh, shave your corpse, and wear your hair as a braided trophy.” Because that would definitely be a mood killer.

What I also loved about this was that though Callum was ultimately the muscle Maci was also no slouch when it came to saving her own butt.
Lacking the physical strength she uses other weapons in her vast arsenal and in a way it’s her actions that change the course of her and Caluums eventual fate.
I also really liked the Callum was secure enough in his own masculinity to appreciate and be impressed by the skills Maci herself brought to the table.

I stare at Maci in awe. Shaw may have thought he was putting her in here to die, but all he’s really done is arm the little tech-ninja with her weapon of choice. My little hell-kitten is crazy smart. She’s just used the warden’s own security system against him.

I also adored how blunt and Alpha Callum was while still managing to convey his affections towards Maci. He was a typical male sometimes not thinking to just express himself verbally expecting Maci to be a bloody mind-reader.

I already told you, hellcat. You’re mine. I’m yours. If that weren’t true, I wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t have come after you in the enclosure. I wouldn’t have given myself up. I wouldn’t have escorted thirty whining women through the woods in the middle of the night. I’m sorry if it didn’t occur to me to actually say the words, but Maci, I love the hell out of you.

I absolutely adored the overall execution here especially the epic finale we are treated to when Maci goes all GI Jane on their butts. Sometimes the Damsel needs to rescue the prince; loved this so much it was totally epic.
And Callum himself may not be all hearts and flowers but he does express himself with such heartfelt individuality that I just couldn’t help falling for this deadly prison inmate.

Hell yes, you belong to me,” he growls. “And not in that ‘prison dibs’ kind of way. You belong to me like my own fucking hand belongs to me. Like you’re a part of me. And I will fuck up anyone who tries to sever you from me.

See such a way with words has Callum; how could you not bow down and just appreciate his pure masculine yumminess.
There is just so much here to adore and while this has some serious life and death struggles it is also filled with some terrific one-liners and tongue in cheek humour.
Everything thing about this book just worked for me on all levels and I’m am so looking forward to the next exciting instalment I really can’t recommend this series enough.

“Choose wisely. Then keep your head down and do what you’re told. Time will pass, and we’ll be back for you.”

Audra Copeland is among dozens of newly convicted felons dropped off on the prison planet Rhodon, where she discovers that the women of zone four have a long-standing arrangement with the men. If they hand over six of the new arrivals, the men won’t raid. And Audra has just been drafted.

She can take her chances on her own, or select a guardian. The deal is simple, if barbaric: sex, in exchange for food and safety from the other two hundred men in zone four. It’s a terrifying proposal. The men are violent, filthy degenerates.

Then Audra sees Tyson at the edge of the crowd. A hulking, scarred figure, the other men call him a savage, but his clothes are clean, and he’s holding a freshly caught rabbit. He can clearly protect what’s his.

As compassionate as he is powerful, Tyson ignites something fierce in Audra, and their connection is white-hot. The problem? Every thirty days, she’ll have to pick a new guardian.

Now that he’s found Audra, Ty has every intention of keeping her for himself. Even if he has to destroy the fragile zone four peace treaty to do it.

BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-1/3/18

Zone four is what Neverland would be if the lost boys were all violent criminals and Wendy were a psychotic pimp.

“Guardian” (Prison Planet Book 1) is one book that definitely snuck up on me catching me completely unawares and reeling me in so fantastically.
The simple concept behind this story worked for me on every single level; totally satisfying my taste for the slightly unusual I do so enjoy in my reading.
I spotted this on Kindle Unlimted and thought it sounded right up my alley so would give it a whirl.
I was going in here slightly blind here as have never read anything by this particular author before.
Well, hey-ho folks, I am now super invested in this dark delectable sci-fi/romance series.
I adored everything about this imaginative offering set on the prison planet Rhodon.
This tale is told in dual POV and centres around Audra and Tyson and the events that occur after she selects him as a best-case scenario when needing a guardian to protect her from the other male inhabitants.
This was gritty and imaginative with such dark undertones that I found so mesmerising.
The chemistry between the two mains gave me such tingles with its profound intensity and at times deeply emotional connection.

His arms encircle me, a warm band of steel, and he brushes hair down my back. “I’ve killed for you, Audra. I’ve gone hungry. I’ve fought. I’ve ripped apart walls, and doors, and a transport shuttle for you. And I would die for you. But I won’t let you go, for anything less than your freedom.”

I also especially adored the addition of Maci Bishop; I believe it’s her story next and I am really looking forward to uncovering more of this enigmatic girls past and future.
This was such a fantastic experience that I can’t recommend more highly.
Every so often I get a little gem that I wasn’t quite expecting that totally blows me away with its freshness and unique outlook.
Guardian was that jewel for me.
I’m gonna wrap things up here by saying I loved the old Snake Plissken, Kurt Russel films and this for me was like Escape from New York and LA but played out
in space on an entire planet and with more of a romantic sexy element; whats not to love about this.
The possibilities with this particular series are endless and as vast as the authors very vivid imagination.
I borrowed this one with my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
