There’s a monster in my basement.

That isn’t a metaphor, in case you were wondering. And it isn’t the tagline to some midnight horror flick. Fact is, Locryn Price is nothing if not a monster. One part human, the other part demon, the guy’s got a slab of ice where his heart should be.

Ironic, considering the rest of him is hot enough to start a fire underwater.

Not exactly what I was expecting to find when I came home from college to surprise my brother. I mean, I always knew Russell was a little warped, but now we have a pissed-off, wisecracking demon in shackles and chains as proof.

The October winds are stirring, bringing more than just storms. Two of our friends are missing. Loc knows something, but he isn’t talking. And to complicate matters further, my former crush Max has joined forces with my brother. They think they’ll get answers using spells and pentacles and brute torture.

But the devil prefers to bargain.

My innocence in exchange for the hostages. Those are his terms.

Now I’m in his world. A world of demons, deception and the sweetest of seductions.

And losing my way in the darkness never felt so good.

After reading that hooking blurb there was no way I was passing this up it all sounded just so deliciously enticing.
And so often these things do disappoint us; failing to deliver on the promised attraction, but not here; this is one story I’m happy to impart that definitely lives up to its hype in every way possible.
Almost instantly upon starting this I was sold and invested for the whole duration “The price of Brimstone” managed to enthral and capture my attention just so effortlessly.
Weaving such an intricate web of misinformation and manipulation all wrapped up so prettily with a side-order of romance and a dash of devilish intent.
Being a new author for me so I wasn’t really sure what to expect here but it was all good and I’m pleased to say I was greatly entertained by this.
So the description here says it all there’s a monster or if you will Demon in Judes basement.
Placed there by her brother Russel and his friend Max so they can attempt to harvest information on the whereabouts of two of there friends.
And after Her brother’s extreme methods of inducement, Jude decides to covertly use her own powers of persuasion with much superior results.
But is she being played by a master manipulator, a demon deceiver and is there a greater power at play here moving its pieces in a macabre chess match; only time and Loc himself has the answer.
So I loved this so much. it was such an unusual tale that really stands out in its genre.
Locryn Price; well in my opinion though this is told from Jude’s perspective apart from a small part at the end (which I adored by the way; so typical Loc) this is his book.
Loc is the standout character that made this such an intriguing read for me without him; well there is just no real pull.
He had all the best one-liners and with his acerbic derisive wit, I couldn’t help panting after him tongue hanging out along with Jude herself as he attempted to transverse the rocky road of his own disinterested humanity.
With his unapologetic askew moral compass, It was then fascinating to spectate as Jude tried to see the best and hone in on his more human attributes.
Sometimes with a lot more success than others.
So amusing being a fly on the wall as Jude tries to explain the concept of Love To a less than impressed Loc.
So this wasn’t major fast paced and was quite a slow drawn out story but it seemed to work.
Managing to build up the anticipation just so nicely.
Amazingly humorous instances combined with an almost intensity at times make “The price of Brimstone” so utterly readable.
I adored the haunted carousel episode with the horses; the internal imagery this inspired within with its vivid prose setting the scene so splendidly.

Nightmares are only dreams that have grown bored of the monotony. They’re so much more interesting if you ask me.

Whether or not they’re bad depends on your point of view. To some nightmares consist of chaos and macabre imagery. That’s why people fear them. You see they don’t appreciate the thrill, the adrenaline rush of not knowing whats going to happen next. What sort of person are you, Judith? Do you embrace your nightmares? or do you run from them?

This was quite a long read in itself but I didn’t find myself drifting as It easily held my attention throughout.
There were not that many developed side characters really only Russel and Max and if I’m honest neither was much to write home about.
Russell himself was such a whiny tantrum throwing brat; just so needed a biotch-slap and Max, well he was just a bit MEH!.
Next, to Locryn he just seemed like such a wet blanket.
Besides these two there was only really Sky. Owen and a few lesser demons.
The main focus here really stays on Jude and Loc throughout which definitely does work.

I only really had some teensy grievances here that caused me to drop half a star and there only minor personal preferences.
I wasn’t struck on the ending here and would have prefered an alternative to what we were given.
I can’t really say much more as have no wish to spoil this for anyone.
I would also have liked to have been subjected to more of Loc’s POV; I’m not the biggest fan of the type of storytelling where we only get one viewpoint, much preferring dual.
As I said earlier we did get a snippet near the end but that was so not enough; it only whet my appetite for more.
So that’s it really; this for me was a fabulous read that I can’t recommend enough.
I would definitely read more Locryn, in fact, I would go as far as to say I need to with that bittersweet finale.
Team Loc all the way for me; I really would love to read more about this fascinating Demon.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “The Price Of Brimstone” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

The Devil's Plaything (Ceasefire #2)

The Devil’s Plaything by Claire Marta
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Release Date-19/7/18

The Only creature who has ever been able to bring the devil to his knees, my beautiful deadly Queen

This was such a delicious concluding instalment to a series that had previously captured my attention so completely with it’s ingenious and fresh perspective on that old tug of war between good and evil and everything that lies in the grey of the in-between.
And after where we previously left off with this I was practically salivating to jump headlong back into the action alongside Mavi, Lucifer and all the rest of the gang.
Having no idea how this was going to continue after that massive cliffhanger of a finale in book one I was ever so curious to see how “The Devil’s Plaything” was going to recover from the burnt ashes it had collapsed into previously.
This is one book ive been wanting to hurry up and hit my kindle like so much and I have to tell you it was so worth the wait folks.
So after a quick re-read of its predecessor, I was raring to go and almost instantly catapulted into a world of confusion where nothing is as it seems and the king of manipulations and lies that is Lucifer seems up to his old tricks; scheming and playing his cards totally to his own advantage.
I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt really I did, but it was just so hard when time after time he seemed to be playing a game that only he was aware of all the rules.
No regard for Mavi or seemingly anyone else, stomping on her obvious affections without a care.
And the more this progressed the deeper the hole he seemed to did himself into with Mavi I really didn’t see how he was going to explain his way out of this one.
And while Lucifer spun his manipulations around the whole saga the contrast in his portrayed intent and actual attention to Mavi was just so confusing, I didn’t know what to think as he was Constantly blowing hot and cold throughout.
And talking of heat the sexual antics between these two were seriously smokin in nature with a raw unapologetic carnality that I bloody adored.
In fact, there was just so much here that I was loving as this was just such a fantastic engaging read.
I think one of my favourite aspect of this series was the unrepentant nature of its characters.
I adore it when we are given an unashamed anti-hero that stays totally true to there inner nature.
A monster that is still kinda a monster to everyone but the one they adore and that’s what we are treated to here; Lucifer is who he is and makes no excuses for his inert essence.
And Mavi herself is more than a match for him her ultimate wickedness complimenting Lucifers corrupt core just so cruelly and with such great finesse.
So this is set primarily in Hell away from Ceasefire which I actually prefered.
We also get to experience Lucifer this time in his true form which was also a mega plus for me.
There are definitely some surprises here that leapt out of left field and totally knocked my socks off.
And there were times occasions that I really hated Lucifer with a bloody passion and wanted to knock him the hell out.
This is one of those reads that once started can’t be put down so great is its pull.
I was transfixed to the bitter end.

They call him a monster. Weaver of lies. The great deceiver. Yet the devil has wept for me. Fought For me. Taken me in his dark Embrace

I cant recommend this book series enough my only criticism here is it had to end.
So looking forward to experiencing much more of this fantastic world and seeing what else this talented author has planned for us next.

I absolutely loved “The Devil You Know” by Claire Marta.

 photo 2G4_zpsj536phdq.gif

From the minute I started reading this I was hooked.
I’m a sucker for a dark depraved read and this one for me definitely hit the spot.
I do so adore me a twisted Heroine that struggles but eventually embraces her dark side and with Mavi StClaire we get this in spades.

She is one bad flower as the mysterious Max liked to call her.
And this is one girl who makes no apologies for who she is and keeps her cards close to her chest, trying to keep everyone at arm’s length is in her very nature.
And this includes the secretive but decadent Max.
As for the mysterious Max, loved him so much also, he himself comes enveloped in secrets and lies a matching bookend to match Mavi’s depravity and darkness a born manipulator who oozes sexual charisma and luckily for Mavi he likes his girls a touch on the psycho side.

 photo images_zpsfpumrath.jpg

I loved all many side characters portrayed here each and every one was a well rounded and diverse individual and there was also never a dull moment in regards to the action portrayed here this book was packed.
A playground for heaven and hell, filled with battles and conflict galore.
I’m being a bit Vague as I don’t want to spoil this, you just need to dive right in and immerse yourself in this violent and bloody world.
so this felt fresh.
In a sea of paranormal offerings, it came across as original and different making it really stand out in its genre.
It also helped that “The Devil You Know” was all sorts of hot and sexy.
With Plenty of appeal here to tempt a sinner or a saint.
It had so many twists and turns that I never saw coming and it was fully ramped right up to its shocking finale.
Totally gobsmacked at the ending and can’t wait for the next chapter of this addictive story.

Release Date-3/4/18.

The Gods of Greyfall was a delightful series of three novellas by A.J. Norris.
This was the first thing I’ve read by this author and I found myself pleasantly surprised.
I was fully engaged throughout and it was incredibly easy to get sucked into this vivid new backdrop.
The world created here was explained in an extremely coherent fashion and instead of experiencing barked facts I found that this was very cleverly interwoven into the present story.
This was great as sometimes authors can overcomplicate this process trying to cram everything in far to fast.
The Gods of Greyfall, I found, was so easy to follow along with.
So If I had to pick a favourite couple here, it would have to be Cutler and Jade.
I just felt incredibly connected to these two, their story and the fact that it felt like a love reconnected across aeons kinds moment totally touched a chord with me.
I mean I liked all our guys and gals but there two, well let’s just they gave me that aw!! moment.

The whole mythological feel to this was also a winner with me, with its Egyptian, Bator and demon storyline.
And I also got to say here that I loved the fact that these rock hard warriors were so up and close with there pussies.
(and I’m not talking of the of the female sexual variety here, though they do get up and personal with those too if you know what I mean, wink, wink. )
I just loved that these Demon fighters pets were small cute meowing felines.
It just showed there soft and vulnerable side.

So having these three interconnecting stories really worked as it compensated for there length.
Giving us a much more in-depth portrayal than you would usually get in a short novella.
These were short insta-love, low-angst paranormal indulgencies that for me kinda worked.
They were really romantic and for me hit that sweet spot.
So lastly I just want to say I’m totally loving the front cover of this, like seriously it’s so
eye-catching and all and if I was choosing this based on its cover it would get the full 10/10 for me.
So Give these a look if you like a bit of PNR I thought they were a great read.

Yesterday, I had the audacity to imagine a future.

One that didn’t include hunting demons hellbent on destroying humanity or being used as a pawn for my father’s revenge. One comprised of a home and a family and all the things I’d longed for as a broken child.

Then in the blink of a silver speckled eye, my foolish hope was extinguished, and my world came crumbling down.

We stood strong. We fought. We lost.

I lost.

Legion, the demon I dared to love, was gone.

Now I’m going to tear myself in two and do the unthinkable to find him. I’m going to put my trust in his brother—his enemy—and make a deal with the Devil. And while his darkness and depravity echo mine, I know this won’t end well for either of us.

My body may survive, maybe even my soul. I can’t promise the same for my heart. This time, I will not fail. I will not hesitate. And if it comes down to it, I’ll be the weapon I was created to be. I will follow the code of the Se7en and do what I should have done when we had the chance.

Kill one to save a million.

“Fallen Reign” gutted me, but in such a good way.
Not sure that even makes sense but you will understand what I’m getting at when you experience this fabulous piece of fiction for yourself.
This is hands down my favourite book of the series and it thoroughly deserves its full five stars.
I so want to ramble on about everything that clicked for me here but I cant as this would definitely spoil it for you.
Just let me say that “Fallen Reign” is going to turn everything you think you want from this story and totally turn it on his head.
So let go of your preconceptions and just go with the flow.
This is definitely a one-sitter read so clear your calendar as I guarantee you will not be able to put this down once you start.
This is a fantastic and worthy finale to what has been a great series.
Hopefully, we may get a cameo from these characters in future S.L. Jennings writings.
Or even better a certain someone may get his own HEA. that would be so epic.
Sad to say goodbye to Eden, Legion, Lucifer, the seven and all else who made this series so addictive.
I have a serious book hangover now.
I highly recommend “The seven Sinners” series give it a go if you like your PNR.

🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2 STARS
Release Date-8/3/18

So this is my first book by R. Scarlett and I’m definitely an instant fan, loved When Sinners Kneel like so much.
I will definitely be reading her other books.
So this is set in the Blackest Gold world and if you’ve read these books you’ll understand, if not I will give you a little rundown into the scene here.
So Demons inhabit this world mixing amongst the Humans.
There are rules they have to live and abide by and there is also a hierarchy in place among them.
So “When Sinners Kneel,” tells the story of Beau Knight, Incubus and the disgraced knight brother who has fallen far from grace and currently spends a great deal of his time at the pit, in the ring fighting.
And also Lex Harvey, Friend to Beau’s brother and a Souleater demon, who ventures there to try and locate her missing friend last known whereabouts The Pitt.
So much to Beau’s disgust, after he rescues Lex and returns her to his brother she then takes a job to investigate her friend’s disappearance putting the two in close proximity to each other.
So as I said earlier I adored this and literally devoured every word.
This was so imaginative and the world so well thought out it didn’t take me long to lose myself here.
Both main characters were fascinating and so very likeable just in different fashions.
Lex, I felt for her she may have been only eighteen in years but in life experience and wisdom she was aeons.
She’d had such a shitty break-in life and she was a bundle of contradictions able to take care of herself on the one hand but at the same time wanted someone to also take the time to care and not to leave her as had been happening all of her life.
Beau or Savage as he goes by at the Pitt.
Has been in a dark place for a while and with Lex’s introduction into his space things start to seriously look up for him.
Though his soul is still damaged and dark from his past Lex seems to lighten things for him.
Two polar opposites on paper, who have much more in common than they thought.
So, There were some interesting secondary characters here, not many this was a bit light overall on them, but there were some to pep things up a bit.
This also wasn’t that hot on the spice level, if I’m honest I would have liked a bit more in this department, just a tad, after all, Beau was an incubus so I would have liked him to deliver.
What else, Well this also wasn’t major angsty, but there was still plenty of action and thrills to keep me captivated and invested as a reader.
So this actually would have been a full five stars for me my only small niggles were.

(view spoiler)

Only small niggles and this probably wouldn’t be an issue for most, I still found this to be a fantastic read that I can’t recommend enough.

The captivating third installment of the Se7en Sinners Series by New York Times Bestselling author, S.L. Jennings.

They say you’re never truly ready for Death until it’s staring you down, its cold, bony fingers outstretched and scratching against your fragile mortality.
I thought I was ready the day my own mother tried to kill me. Perhaps I was ready the moment I was born.
But as I peer into the chilling void of Death, breath shallow and heartbeat sluggish, I know that it can’t end like this. I was made for a purpose.
And that purpose is Legion.
Now that we’re fighting the battle of our lives, a war that could eliminate mankind, I see that purpose as clear as the whorls of dark ink etched in his skin.
Realms are colliding. Alliances are forming. And my heart is being torn in two.
I know the code the Se7en live by.
Kill one to save a million.
But maybe it’s not me who was meant to die.
Maybe it’s the man I thought I could save…the man who once saved me.
The man I was created to kill.

Wicked Ruin (Se7en Sinners, #3) by S.L. Jennings OMG The beginning of this book, what a ride and what a surprise, the person trying to help Eden I was mega shocked at there identity, ultimately helping Eden, even if it was like in a totally batshit crazy way.
Like that was totally overkill but the sentiment was there.
And again OMG!!!! I’m agog this cannot be a good thing in the long run.

 photo http_2F2Fmashable.com2Fwp-content2Fuploads2F20132F012FJennifer-Lawrence-OMG_zpsuaxpciog.gif

So This book turns everything on its head, Karmas a bitch and now its Eden struggling to keep Her legion to her self and he is definitely not the Demon she has fallen for.

“L is dead. Samael is dead. I was remade—reborn into what I was before. The very thing I’ve hated and rebelled against for centuries. The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. However, the great dragon was not called the Devil, as man believed. He was called Legion. “I am the Legion of Lost Souls. And I have risen once again.”

What we have here and now is a much darker Legion one struggling to control his baser instincts and his lost souls are ultimately draining him dry and poisoning his whole self.
What else here, Well Nico is back and I’m loving the friendship between him and Eden.
Adriel is now flesh and I’m really not liking her that much, actually, if I’m honest not at all.
and we also get to see more of the Watcher as well as there hiding out at her mansion, like neutral ground and all.
Lucifer here is a much more complex character, still playing his games but we see a deeper version of himself, which was definitely enlighting.
This instalment was all about the upcoming battle and almost seems like a hopeless cause with the odds stacked against them.
So “Wicked Ruin” as in previous books ends with a cliffy and it’s a biggie.
The car crash rush to the finish was horrifying and tragic to behold and I was glued to the very last line, it was so riveting I couldn’t look away.

I will leave you with this quote from Eden and this pretty much sums up the whole ending here.

This is what I was created for. To betray. To destroy. To kill. I am the weapon to make Legion fall to his knees. And I’ve just been activated.

What a finish I need that next book like NOW!!!!

So End of Eden (Se7en Sinners, #2) starts where Born Sinner leaves off and I was gagging to start this after the shocking conclusion to book one.
So Eden is In hell with Lucifer and feeling betrayed her heart broken from the revelations of the previous book.
And Lucifer is quite prepared to use this to his advantage.
here in hell, he reigns supreme and Eden is struggling to contain her revulsion at the antics prevalent in the underworld.
While at the same time feeling a sick pull and attraction to this dark depraved world and its wicked master.

 photo giphy_zps2qno8b0j.gif

He is the epitome of everything I hate and want, all dressed up in a tuxedo that looks like it was stitched, piece by sumptuous piece, onto his gorgeous frame.

Lucifer wants Eden as his bride and baby mama and her only friend and confidant at this time is Nikolai Skotos who while playing his role of debauched wingman to Lucifer is also helping Eden at the risk of his own safety.
Legion is coming to rescue Eden of that there is no doubt, but she herself seems the only one confused and mistrustful of this fact that is set in concrete.
And come he does, in dramatic style swooping in to rescue his love, what a hero, be still my beating heart.
And this is where I struggled slightly, I found Eden’s constant yo-yoing in her affections and self-sabotaging behaviour annoying and immature and quite frankly at times a bit ungrateful.
This slightly affected my overall enjoyment here.
As I just felt there was no need for Edens constant angst and she was treating Legion a tad unfairly.
Poor Legion was so confused, unsure what he had done wrong and no matter how much he reassured Eden it was her he wanted, she said one thing but ultimately thought another.

“Eden, you have to believe that my feelings for you have nothing to do with Adriel. My interest in you existed long before I even knew she inhabited your body. And what grew between us from that point on was born from something much greater than anything I could have ever imagined. You did something that your mortal world has failed to for centuries: you surprised me. And just that simple, human act has invoked emotions that had lain dormant since my fall from grace. What this is…what we are…it’s bigger than the both of us, firecracker. That is why I claimed you.”

“You’re more, Eden. You’re everything I’ve been searching for—fighting for. You’re my heaven.”

“I didn’t fall from Heaven for Adriel. I fell because of her. But I would fall…for you. If I had to do it all again, I would fall for you, Eden.”

So I just really felt for Legion here and wanted him to get the girl in “End of Eden” L really wears his heart on his sleeve and it’s beautiful to behold.
But with Eden keeping secrets and basically on a different page altogether things were bound to come to a head and I just felt for him like massively.
“End of Eden” finishes again on a big cliffhanger and I was so glad I could just pick up the next instalment and carry on reading.
Though I struggled at times here with Edens personality this was still by far an excellent engrossing experience.
This is such an imaginative world that is so easy to get lost in and I am so looking forward to the next book in this thrilling saga.

/ Book Review / Born Sinner (Se7en Sinners #1) / S.L. Jennings /

Release Date-11th August 2016
Genre-Paranormal Romance
Kindle Edition-355 Pages

Twenty-two years ago, I was cut from a cold, sodden womb, and cradled in the filth and poverty of Chicago’s concrete arms. Statistically, I wasn’t supposed to survive these streets past the age of eighteen.

Fate had a different plan.

I was bred for one purpose and one purpose only: to unleash death and destruction on my world.

My thoughts are power.

My words are weapons.

Evil created me then grace tried to save me. But first… they tried to kill me.
They call themselves the Se7en. They are sin and salvation, and everything we’ve feared from the beginning of time. And their leader is the deadliest of them all.

He doesn’t lose.

He doesn’t compromise.

And most importantly, he doesn’t distract himself with mortal weakness.

Not until me.

Kill one to save a million.

That’s what he told me when he took me as his prisoner.

Kill one to save a million.

That’s what he’s been trying to tell himself ever since he took me into his arms.

I have been meaning to get around to this series for a while.
Previously reading The Dark/Light books by this author and loving them Born Sinner (Se7en Sinners, #1) by S.L. Jennings has been on my TBR pile for quite some time.
And while this didn’t draw me in initially quite as quickly as previous books I have read by this author I did get there in the end.
And when I did fall I was captivated by this vividly portrayed world.
Born Sinner tells the story of the seven.
Seven demons trying to redeem themselves by whatever means necessary, led by their leader “L” Legion.
Who can I just say is totally manalicious and super bad ass.

“Because I once was seraphim,” he pronounces, his all-commanding tone rumbling the floor beneath my socked feet. A blast of sweltering heat radiates around his entire frame, forcing me back. “But now… I… Am… Legion.”

There mission to stop the called, basically like Lucifers sleeper cells, dormant till activated to do horrific actions and “Eden” is one such cell.
“Kill one to save a million” is the motto they live by and how they justify their actions.
But Eden is something more and as L does a complete 360 and decides he needs to protect her maybe at first on account of the angel “Adriel” he senses inside her.
“Adriel” his first love who he fell from heaven for.
But also because he finds himself completely captivated by the enigma that is Eden.

“Because from the first moment I saw you—through the dingy window of that store, your headphones on, oblivious to the dangers right outside the door—I knew that I would die for you. So please…live for me. Just for a little while longer.”

So this book had everything a damaged anti-hero and one stubborn as hell heroine that’s ready to fight her feeling to the bitter end.
Drama, angst and betrayal from where you expect it least.
Just when you think you know where this is going it changes directions on you and scrambles your thought process once more.
And it has Angels and Demons, So, Man whats not to love here.
I absolutely fell hook line and sinker for our L, he was such a damaged but deep individual and I loved how hard he fell for Eden willing to do whatever it takes to protect her and keep her safe.

“When you find something worth living for, you won’t hesitate to die for it.” A small, sad smile rests upon his lips. “We’re all dead, firecracker, yet no one really dies. Don’t worry. I’ll make my way back to you.” “You promise?” I whisper. “Even if I have to crawl my way out from the depths of Hell, I’ll never leave you. Not again.”

Sigh so heart-thumpingly swoony.

Eden was that bit more difficult to get a handle on, she was a product of her upbringing and had clawed her way to adulthood with a tenuous hold on life.
While I admired her resilience and ability to adapt like a chameleon I also felt she was her own worse enemy on a course of self-sabotage she fought every good thing that came her way, I believe she had sentenced and judged herself to a solitary existence a long time past.
The secondary characters in this series were amazing, I adored them all especially the seven.
I also loved the added bonus of revisiting the Skotos family from Light/dark series that was a lovely touch and I loved that this also occupied the same world.
Only a couple issues here that bothered me and whilst this didn’t dampen my enjoyment here I thought I would just flag them for others.
I thought Legion went from Mr nasty to Mr nice without explanation and I did find this a bit odd.
There was no real explanation for his big turnaround and the second considering L tells Eden he was captivated with her from the very beginning I don’t get the original overall animosity he directed at her when taking her captive.
But as I said no biggie I still really enjoyed this, I was just slightly puzzled by these two facts.
So Born Sinner ended on a big Cliffhanger, like a real I need the next book right now cliffy.
And I was super, super shocked here, didn’t see that one coming at all.

So to conclude this was a fantastic gripping read with fantastic world building and an engaging storyline that I really enjoyed and highly recommend.

Love Celia Aarons work and as what I have read previously is of a contemporary nature (The Acquisition series) I was excited to see what she would produce in regards to a paranormal offering.
“Incubus” was a really great start to a new series.
It did initially take me a short while to get into the groove with this, but when I did this was magic in motion.
I really do feel this may have been more to do with the fact that I have not read this genre for a while so I was a bit out of whack overall.
So anyway incubus is about Roth de Lis an Incubus and Lilah, once the warrior of the goddess Artemis, expelled from her home on Mount Olympus after falling for and succumbing to the charms of a male.
Lilah will do anything to earn her place back at her goddesses side.
Including making a deal with the god of war Ares (despite him being a psychotic nutter) to bring him said Incubus, Roth de Lis. using herself as collateral (so not smart.)
After locating and tricking her way into Roth’s home which he shares with his delightful butler a jealous harpy of a succubus and an enchanting Nymph and With a totally biased stereotypical opinion of Roth, Lilah soon learns her preconceptions regarding the incubus are way off base.
So I found Incubus to be a delightful tale that once I got into my stride made for some very easy enjoyable reading our two main characters were both extremely likeable and along the way, we are also introduced to some very intriguing secondary players.
This was so very different from what I have read of this author previously and let me just say, Celia Aaron, can so do paranormal, she didn’t disappoint here and she so rocked this genre, throwing the ball right out of the field.
I also was really digging the fall hook line and sinker for each over vibe that Incubus gave off it made for such a refreshing change.
Don’t get me wrong this is no insta-love tale but when these two eventually connect I got tingles down to my toes, every time Roth whispered Carissima I melted into a puddle of goo.
And when he chased after Lilah wanting to save her well let’s just say my heart was pitter-pattering like a big ole softie of a girl. (which I so am )
So it’s safe to say, I have absolutely no problem recommending this to my fellow paranormal lovers.
Overall I found this to be a really enjoyable and positive experience and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Should just mention that Incubus is available free on KU.
