ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-12/6/18

So this was a new author for me and while I’m not ruling out reading more of this particular writers work in the future to see if I can find one overall that’s a better fit for me; This story “Safe Haven” I had a really hard time making an actual connection with.
I just couldn’t seem to feel much for the characters involved here at all; which was such a shame as this wasn’t badly written, just missing something vital for me overall and I’m still not sure what that was exactly.
I think it was maybe a collection of items that contributed ultimately towards my disconnect here.
First, the way this story was told; using two separate narratives to arrive at a final destination where Candy and Captains destinies eventually converge; this didn’t actually work for me.
I found it extremely long-winded and unnecessary; sorry I just wanted the main course and was getting really sick of the bloody appetiser; it was actually 75% before these two eventually crossed paths; And from the actual blurb itself, this was not what I was led to believe was the case here, at one point I even checked to make sure I was actually reading the correct book; I was obviously.
I do understand what the author was trying to achieve here, and it was very brave of her to think outside the box like this; unfortunately for myself, this style of storytelling was a bust.
Not allowing me to become emotionally invested in them as a couple rather than just individuals lost the majority of my attention if I’m honest.
Now if you’ve have read previous in this series, You will be already acquainted with Captain and Candy and this will probably work out much better for you being somewhat invested in there future and not just going in blind like I did.
I also didn’t feel any real chemistry between these two beyond there obvious shared kink.
There seemed to be a lack of bonding and deeper conversations overall and it made me wonder how can they profess to love what they don’t actually know; these two seemed still such strangers to each other, even by the end.
The age gap itself didn’t bother me here either; Captain needed to really let that one go; what he should have been focusing on was their lack of any conventional interaction rather than mere numerals after all age is just a number.
I also hated the name Candy; wasn’t totally convinced that some people would be so rude to a complete stranger over there outward appearance; think it, yes, but not actual voice it aloud.
I asked my partner about this and he disagrees completely saying, that YES!! people are dicks and they so would behave in such a despicable obnoxious fashion; I’m too nice and like to see the best in everyone and also that I’m too British whatever that actually means.
I did enjoy spectating in Charlies/Captain’s metamorphosis from boy to man; I think this was actually my favourite part of “Safe Haven” overall.
So there is a second book after this; one I’m sorry to say I won’t be partaking of.
I’m just not emotionally invested enough here to want to continue on this journey to the finish.
I will try again with a different book from this author; just to see if I can find one that’s maybe a better fit.
Don’t let me put you off though, this is just my own personal take on “Safe Haven” and as you can see from the reviews, I am definitely in the minority here, we are all individuals so what doesn’t ultimately work for me might well be totally different for you.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with a review copy of “Safe Haven” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-7/6/18

I have not read anything by this author before so was looking forward to the new experience.
“Sub Mission” and loving the pun on words; was a magnificent addition to its genre.
From the second I started reading this fascinating novel; I was sucked right along into the BDSM lifestyle of Seth and Baker; almost sharing the special journey to there own personal HEA with them.
The brief premise of this story is that Both work for a private agency that has been hired to draw out and apprehend perpetrators who are targeting wealthy male submissives.
Seth is a Dominant and Baker a Submissive; the twist here is that Seth is Gay and Baker not so much.
Baker has always had mistresses in the past; never a Master and from the minute these two meet it’s not only Seth who is drawn like a moth to the flame.
“Sub Mission” is almost a journey of new depths and discovery for both our men and though we do have a suspenseful background here the main focus of the narrative I found was on the developing relationship between Agents Seth and Baker, and what a beautiful but of so kinky road they do travel; one that I equally enjoyed traversing along with them.
So this is plenty dirty and hot; with some very graphic descriptions, that got me hot under the collar; but were also incredibly romantic and heartfelt.
I could definitely feel the connection and threads that adhered these two lovers like glue.
I adored watching the ups and downs these two faced as they learned together through a series of miscommunications the importance of being honest with each other.
This is told in dual POV; has no OM or OW angst and though light on major secondary characters; I didn’t feel that this was a detriment at all.
I loved the finish and especially how nicely it was set up for Eli and Ari’s story; now that is definitely one I’m looking forward to.
This is one read that gets my seal of approval; it’s well written and entertaining; what more could I ask for.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Sub Mission” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Not all fantasies are safe, sane, and consensual. Welcome to the world of The Gallery…

Milo Fierro lives for two things, dominance and music. At The Gallery, where depravity rules, he’s known for his passionate desires, but on the outside, he’s learned to hide beneath a veneer of dark-eyed professionalism. It’s too dangerous to be himself. Most women don’t understand.

Alice definitely doesn’t understand. Her father was his violin teacher for years, and now that she and Milo are adults, she thinks they can be friends. The girl he knew as “Lala” draws him in with her grace and kindness, unaware of his ugly, hidden side. He can’t touch her, or even stand near her. He doesn’t dare reach out to her, no matter how much her talent and beauty inflames his lusts. She deserves better, deserves a man who’s nothing like him…

If only she wasn’t so impossible to resist.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-4/6/18

I’m a big fan of Annabel Joseph’s books and though not my favourite of her works I still really enjoyed “Dangerous Control”
So first this can totally be read as a stand-alone; no issues whatsoever.
There are three books in this series all set around the gallery; a secret BDSM club with its own set of exclusive rules.
In this instalment, we are re-introduced to Milo; who is a hard-core sadist and dominant.
This is one story I was looking forward to and I did find this very entertaining.
There were just a few teeny issues that Pulled my enjoyment down slightly; I still found this a great read but with a few tweaks this would have a higher rating from me.
So here we have Milo and Alice.
As I said earlier Milo is a sadist and he has been in awe of Alice most of his life; placing her on an unreachable pedestal he loves and worships her from afar.
Alice; La La growing up has loved Milo forever but has no idea whatsoever of his perversions and kinks.
Family friends; who have literally grown up together; both from a musical background these two have so much in common.
There love for each other and violins being a start; Milo plays and builds them; Alice is a musical prodigy.
I was wholeheartedly rooting all the way for these two.
So my issues here; I would have maybe liked Milo to be a bit more pro-active in his attraction to Alice.
She was the one who seemed to do most of the pursuing; which Is fine; I’m a modern woman and all; it just seemed to me that she was doing the majority of the chasing at the expense of her self-respect.
Don’t get me wrong as a reader I was aware of Milos affections towards his lovely La La.
But considering he was constantly pushing Alice away she obviously wasn’t aware of his inner thoughts at all; she’s hardly a mind reader.
I was cringing a bit at her blatant honesty in regards to the constant rejection Milo sent her way.
And even when these two finally did connect; I was still slightly annoyed that he just couldn’t take Alice’s affections at face value.
Questioning and analyzing everything she said and did and acting all soft.
I like me a good old sadist in my fiction and got to say; I was a trifle disappointed in Milos wishy-washy demeanour; when he just let himself go; he shone and came totally into his own; it was magical to perceive; But when he got all guilt filled I just wanted arsehole Milo back; I liked him so much better than the lighter less sadistic version.
Despite my above gripes I still found this a worthy contender in BDSM fiction.
“Dangerous Control” was kinky as hell and hot as fuck.
The sexual antics between Milo and Alice were hardcore in their intensity.
There was nothing sweet about there interactions in the bedroom.
Milo shows his passion through pain and Alice though a novice to the scene revels and grows within Milos sadistic arms.
The then contrast in his actual feelings is obviously the reason he struggled so much in his attraction to Alice; wanting to love her but also hurt her; he finds this abhorrent and wants to save her from himself.
We also get the added bonus here of reconnecting with our previous couples; that was a nice touch.
I’ve read one of the other books but still need to read the second.
Got to mention as well before I go “Fuckable Hair” OMG; I have never heard a hairstyle actually described that way; so made me smile that.
So while this was not my favourite in the Gallery series I still really enjoyed myself here.
A greatly enjoyable read.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Dangerous Control (Dark Dominance, #3)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-28/5/18

So I’ve got a bit of a dilemma with this one; as much as I did enjoy “Ruthless” there were also some major red flags here that brought this story down from what would have been a five star read; to a four star one.
Don’t mistake them this is an excellent piece of fiction, and I stress fiction as there may be some major triggers in this takes no prisoners tale; This is raw graphic and violent at times and does feature; (view spoiler) Which I’m only disclosing in case this is a cause for concern for some; I really don’t want to spoil this story for others but just thought the reader should be aware in case of actual triggers.
And on a side-note here I was extremely bemused and somewhat astounded that this is then not discussed or visited upon in any shape or form further.
I mean like zero mention; whats with that; I found this fact slightly shocking.
But moving on from that I still rated this four stars despite reservations because of A) This was fabulously written; that is one thing this book cannot be faulted on; the writing style used here was warm and inviting and had a style that was just so easy to relate and get sucked in by.
And B) despite Callan being a complete tosser at times I also really liked the way his broken psyche complemented and connected to Madi’s almost completing a jigsaw of jaggedness.
Their pieces just fit together so nicely; two broken halves of a whole.
Alone they were surviving, but as a pair, they were not fixed but their imperfect parts acted almost like a glue.
Loved the fact that both Madison and Callan were slightly defective in nature: I’m a big sucker for disjointed Love stories and this certainly did tick all my boxes in that department.
My other major red flag and it is more of a personal preference than anything else: I don’t like either my H or h to be either pursuing or engaging in relations or sexual antics; EVEN IF IT’S NOT ACTUAL SEX!!!; I still don’t like it; with anyone else.
It just spoils it for me and while this book was not as bad as the previous in series I’m not sure as much as I did enjoy this; If I want to continue; If this is going to become a pattern in the “Sins Of Seven” series then I think I’m out.
This was written in dual POV my favourite and I easily read it in one sitting.
It was extremely graphic in terms of language and I must admit I did adore that about it.
Callan is one dirty boy or should I say man as I think he’s thirty-seven here and Madison is twenty-one; so a bit of an age gap there: which is also my bag; love an age-gap.
This is the second of this series I’ve read and I did prefer this one over “Indulge”.
What else?
There were only a few side characters here; the majority of the action is between Callan and Madi.
Oh, and on a final note we have two excellent epilogues one from Madi’s POV and the other from Callan’s; that was a nice touch.
So that’s it folks; this was a well written engaging book that I had some slight issues with at times but I still did really enjoy.
I’ll leave the ball in your court now. It all really depends on your own personal boundaries.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Ruthless” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

SIGH; this book.
I’m a bit disappointed if I’m honest.
Take out the beginning where The so-called hero Carrick has an orgy with multiple women.
The fact that Peyton is the doppelganger of his dead fiancee; and he hasn’t moved on from her death and it’s been like eight years.
And that he cant stay out of his playroom with OW when he’s on a short break from his relationship with Peyton, and it was like almost instantly; whats with that?
And we’re good.
I don’t give a flying Eff that he doesn’t bone said OW it still pissed me the hell off that he felt the need to act this way while supposedly in love with Peyton.
Like really!! wheres your patience and loyalty dude?
Carrick acted like an arrogant smuck throughout “Indulge”
Peyton I really liked and felt that at times she deserved better than Carrick’s less than stellar regard.
I also think she was much to understanding of a certain scene she walked in on; I wanted her to brick his balls and make him suffer in unimaginable ways; cough! cough!
So yeh despite the above; this was still an excellently written read that did capture my attention it just also managed to a piss me the hell off as well; sigh.
Such a shame as this was so well written; just not my bag in terms of OW action and as I said earlier Carrick was a big fat dick.
After careful consideration, I still gave this a three-star rating as I did finish and was somewhat invested here; just not sure it was altogether for the right reasons.
On a plus note, I did enjoy the epilogue here.

So I enjoyed this instalment in the series, I loved that it featured an age-gap romance.
I’ve got to admit I am a sucker for this trope.
Mainly because I have been in this type of relationship for the last 23 years myself (20 years age gap for us)
So I was really looking forward to Devils &Rye to see what it had to bring to the table for this series.
It was very much swings and roundabouts for me.
I enjoyed the first half of this book much more than the second.
But I’ve still given it four stars overall as it still managed to engage me for a good couple hours.
So what I liked.
Well, the age gap obviously.
It was also very engaging, keeping my interest throughout and I did find the relationship between Alec and Makayala believable.
Both characters were extremely likeable individuals and the story was easy to follow and could definitely be read as a standalone.
It was told in dual POV which is my favourite.
I also liked the fact that this wasn’t very angsty.
This was also super hot in places and I could definitely feel the emotion between the pair.
that said this was very instalove with Makayla and Alec switching from adoptive family to lust very quickly indeed.
And with this being a short read it kind of lost of lost something there for me also.
I would have loved to have seen this developing relationship explored much more slowly and with more depth.
I also thought Makayla was a little dumb and immature in her reactions at times.
And ultimately I would have liked for this to have been a much darker, I do so love me a dark dominant anti-hero.
Alec was much more lovable and not that dark.
I also thought the end was going to be more shocking, which it wasn’t.
So as I said ups and downs.
Ultimately though when weighing things up I did enjoy this and I read Devils & Rye in one sitting.
For me, It was a short and sexy read.
So a thumbs up from me.

Snow And The Seven Huntsmen does what it says on the tin.
It’s fun filthy reverse harem smut.
Heavy on the dub-con and I mean heavy it leans more towards Non-con if I’m being honest.
But with snow being a lot of a masochist, well it’s not long before she’s playing along.
Girls like the energiser bunny, it’s tiring just trying to keep up with her.
That girl just keeps on going and going !!!!

 photo tumblr_oq0puqzsAT1ro8ysbo1_500_zpsoe7pyw7k.gif

So if you looking for high brow storylines this isn’t the tale for you.
The title here says it all This is a very dark alternative to the tale of snow white.
But instead of Seven Dwarves, here we have seven kinky huntsmen who want in Snows pants.

 photo 22a2a6ce96bf7bc3247dbcba4f5d97b3_zps1vefhvo9.jpg

This isn’t angsty it’s basically snow getting down and jiggy with her boys.
Its written all from Snows POV.
I would have liked to maybe see inside some of the Huntsmen Heads as well, as they did come across as very domineering with little kindness and warmth from the majority of them.
Having that window, maybe I could have connected with them a bit more.
There’s a loose backstory here about the evil queen coming after her, but that’s all it is in the background.
I did enjoy “Snow And The Seven Huntsmen”, this was basically a bit of kinky fun that hits that sweet spot.
It’s a well written, raw, filthy, fantasy.

Deep Control (Dark Dominance #2) by Annabel Joseph was an absolute delight to read.
Its one of them reads that’s a little bit out of the box in regards to the normal and that’s what floated my boat with this story.
So Deep Control is the second book in this series and although
these books occupy the same world this can totally be read as a stand-alone, I did and had no issues what so ever following along.
I also want to mention how much I’m loving that book cover, such a hot combustible image, adoring it totally.

So this book follows Pilot Devin a Dominant and a bit of a sadist and Ella an astrophysicist with a penchant for pain.
When the two meet, first with a brief encounter at a club and later as Devon is accompanying Ella on a flight to New York as a flight coach due to her severe phobia of flying, sparks do fly and after sharing a traumatic life-affirming experience the two end up hooking up and realise there desires align perfectly.

Deciding this is something they both want to explore Devon asks Ella along to the Gallery. An exclusive club that caters to the extreme, here there are no safe words and a sub needs a sponsor and invitation to play.
Neither wanting a relationship, each for there own reasons, the two embark on a friendship of mutual desire and depravity, but sometimes the best-laid plans can easily go to pot.

So I really enjoyed Deep Control, it was a hot messy read but also had the added bonus of a great storyline, I really liked all the characters if at times I did want to give Ella a big kick up the derriere for her sheer stubbornness in realising what she actually held in her hand and was in danger of losing if she didn’t pull her finger out and smell the coffee.
Devin himself was such a delicious specimen and I just loved how he took such good care of Ella it was very apparent early on how much he cared.
I found this to be such an easy read with some great secondary characters and I raced through this very quickly indeed.
I should also probably mention that there are menage scenes where Devon shares Ella with his friend, this is all completely consensual and the HEA that eventually occurs is only between Devon and Ella but I thought I should this just mention just in case this bothers you at all.
Though I haven’t read anything by this author before I am pleased to say this was a very positive experience and I will definitely be checking out any other books she has out, especially the ones in this series.

So that’s about it, Deep Control gets a big thumbs up from me, check it out you won’t be disappointed.

J’adore Cirque de Minuit (Cirque Masters, #1) by Annabel Joseph, like really really love 💞this.
From the moment I started reading this incredibly unique story, It grabbed me by the throat and refused to let go until It had consumed me in its entirety.
I don’t think I’ve ever read a set of BDSM stories set in the circus and this pulled me in with its sheer individuality.
So Cirque de Minuit is set in the world of Cirque du Monde and Kelsey Martin a former Olympic reserve gymnast is one of its newest employees.
From day one she is overly fascinated by Theo Zamora a foul-mouthed French dominant trapezist.
and when Theo loses his trapeze partner Mina in tragic circumstance Kelsey steps forward determined to pull him out of his despair with an offer to work with him and his bad hands.
Apparently, circus folks are superstitious so Theo’s career is now on the out.
Theo in true mean derogatory style stamps all over Kelsey’s offer.
But later has a change of heart offering to partner and train her in Ariel Silks for a finale act in the new midnight show being put together.
So I loved this twisted tale of submission and domination set against the splendid backdrop of the circus.
both of the main characters were extremely easy to like and identify with.
Theo himself was a sexy bundle of man flesh and every time he uttered the words come and called his Kelzee Girl I melted into a gooey puddle.
I could just imagine his sexy gorgeous broken accent as he laid out his wants and wishes.
In fact, I think I might be giving him a bit too much leeway on account of my total infatuation.
He was a bit of a mean naughty boy at times.
Kelsey herself grew so much through this tale, she started out as quite naive and sheltered and came across to me as such a wholesome blonde American cheerleader type.
As this book expanded so did Kelsey growing so much in her character.
It seemed the more she identified her wants and needs the more she grew as an individual.

This from me would have been a total five-star rating, but there were some minor niggles that pulled this down slightly for me, so I removed half a star for this exact reason.
Whilst I adored the pull and push of this developing D/S relationship and I didn’t even mind the club antics as it was a scene mutually agreed upon and I was fine with that.
What I objected to was Kelsey having to visit Michel’s office I thought that was just a step too far and Theo as Kelsey’s Dom should have put a stop to it.
That is my only reason for removing half a star.
Over than that I cant recommend this book enough, I have KU and as a result, I don’t buy many individual books, this one I made an exception for.
One Hell of a read.

Release Date-5th Dec 2017
Genre-Dark Erotic Romance
Kindle Edition-344 Pages

My life is one long fevered dream, balancing between being killed or killing.
The name Harley Crow is one to be feared.
I am an assassin.
A killer.
The villain.

I own it. I choose this life. Hell, I crave it. I hunger for it. The smell of fear makes me hard and is the very reason the blood runs through my veins.
Until I meet her…

Marlowe Masters.
Her darkness matches my own.
In my twisted world of dancing along the jagged edge of the blade…
She changes everything.
No weapon can protect me from the kind of death she will ultimately deliver.

*Villains & Vodka is a dark billionaire romance. If you don’t like a splash of shock, a dash of taboo, and a heavy dose of sex, then don’t take a sip of this TOP SHELF cocktail.

🌟🌟🌟🌟STARS
Villians & Vodka (TOP SHELF #2) By Alta Hensley was the first thing I have read by this author and It was an instant hit for me.
So I am going to start this review by saying I am loving this whole top shelf vibe, very catchy indeed. This series does have some fabulous titles and also what terrific covers are involved, Totally fangirling here.
So villains & Vodka what did I think?
Well, I went in with my expectations so-so and got a pleasant surprise. This was a very entertaining read that explored aspects of the forbidden and Taboos in a very satisfying way.
In this case, That Taboo was Fear Itself.
This story tells the tale of Harley Crow and Marlowe Masters.
(Gotta say totally adoring these names there so swoon-worthy.)
Harley is an Assasin, a hired killer that’s a little Jaded with the job at hand.
Marlowe Is a waitress at spiked Roses (a club Harley is part owner of).
Marlowe watches Harley from afar, totally giving off the stalker-vibe and finally gets her chance to pounce on the latest clubs tasting night.
These evening’s all have a theme and as I said earlier the taste of this theme is Fear.
After signing a contract for the weekend they both retire to Harley’s amazing home on the bayou for fun and games or in Marlowe’s case fun and Fear.
So without giving too much away the weekend is all about Harley getting Marlowe to feel that fear.
It’s something he really gets off on, that scared terrified look.
I must admit I did kind of guess where this was going and I was proved right.
But, that really didn’t spoil this for me and I still found this a good solid fun experience.
This was a rather quick read, everything happening over a weekend and it was also quite insta-love another pet peeve of mine.
But I did find myself mainly overlooking these facts due to the uniqueness of this tale.
this was also quite low angst and there was no OM/OW involved either.
These two do have great chemistry and even though there is only the one heavy session it is very apparent that these two do just get each other.
But for myself, I really would have liked to have seen some more interaction between the pair as I felt I didn’t quite get a full sense of them both. The above are my main reasons for removing a star.
This just needed that extra oomph behind it to push it up a star and it didn’t quite achieve the full house from me.
On last observation from me, I really would have liked Marlowe to leave Harley to stew in his juices a tad longer, what he did was unforgivable and I do feel he got off a bit lightly, just my opinion, but I wish she’d made him squirm more.
Villians & Vodka By Alta Hensley gets a big thumbs up and despite being a relatively quick read it packed a big punch.
I must say I am looking forward to the next instalment I’m quite intrigued with Victor and his doll’s the mind does boggle.
thank you to the author for providing an ARC.
This is my own free and honest opinion.
