ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-February 4th 2020
Kindle Edition-478 Pages
“Before I met you, I thought Nightmares were creatures of pain and darkness. Why, then, are you constantly seeking freedom and light?”
Fortuna’s entire life has changed.
She has no idea how to balance her new responsibilities and who she used to be. There are hundreds of faeries in her head, her brother seems to have lost touch with reality, and a werewolf won’t leave her side. Maybe the utter lack of control is why her abilities seem to be changing, as well.
Then there’s Collith. Enigmatic, beautiful, and infuriating. Not only a king of the faeries she despises so much, but also her mate. His gentle pursuit causes confusion in her normally unwavering relationship with Oliver.
As a result of it all, Fortuna now finds herself surrounded by new enemies and ones from the past. The question isn’t whether she is strong enough to make change in such a corrupt court.
It’s whether she will survive long enough to do it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book continues where we left off previously and I was hoping maybe for some answers especially concerning dream Ollie and also Collith’s icy Assasin-ex lover down in his dungeons (forget her name).
But alas the mystery only deepens here and more have now arisen to join them.
So Fortuna now Queen of the Unseelie is back in the human world trying to adjust to her new reality.
She’s also packing some new companions: the Seelie king Laurie is her new bestie, she has a constant shadow in her new protective werewolf rescue, her reluctant right hand and bodyguard Lyari hates her as does her brother and somethings definitely off with the dreamscape and Ollie.
Regarding Fortuna’s relationship with Collith it is evolving into something much more tangible, becoming deeper and more intense, there bond growing and strengthening the more they lay themselves open and let down there natural guard.
I also felt that here we got a lot more of an insight into just who and what Collith is and how he ultimately ticks.
we also get some insight into his and Laurie’s current dynamic and just what went down between them to cause their initial rift.
I am also desperate to know just who and what Ollie is and where he actually comes into things as I do think there is some deeper significance and agenda ultimately at play here.
My heart was also hurting so bad for his pain and loss with Fortuna, it was just so sad how desperate he was to hold onto any small part of her.
I did feel that this had a slightly different vibe to its predecessor almost like all the players were being brought onto the board and placed strategically for some hidden purpose yet to occur.
This one really was action-packed throughout and that finale my god!!! my nerves are on edge and my heart well I think its shattered into a million pieces for Collith and Fortuna and where they are now at.
I am so very worried about the repercussions and consequences most likely heading there way.
Fortuna is evolving as a queen but also as an individual but her rashness and impulsiveness and the way she doesn’t always think her actions through may be her greatest weakness.
Collith helps counterbalance that to an extent and they really are polar opposites of each other which also is what makes them such a great fit together.
Each bringing something to the board the other lacks somewhat.
Don’t know how I’m going to wait until book three is out as its all the way into December it seems aeons away but needs must, I will be eagerly anticipating its release.
This is a fantastic urban fantasy series that I highly recommend, massive thumbs up from me.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Restless Slumber (Fortuna Sworn, #2)
