The people we love are thieves. They steal our hearts. They steal our breath. They steal our sanity. And we let them. Over and over and over again. ********************************************* They say you never forget your first time. Mine was with a homeless musician who effed my brains out under a bridge. He was my first love. And fourteen years later, I still can’t get him out of my head. He broke all my rules. He also broke my heart. I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar. But I was never a fan; just a girl in love. Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake. But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true. You can’t go back, but I want to. Back to the bridge. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart. I thought I knew everything about him. But I could not have been more wrong. He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting. And hoping.

Again.

My Review

No Tomorrow by Carian Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don’t even know where to start with this review; my heads in a complete spin analyzing and thinking on the events that have transpired so vividly before my very eyes but one thing I do no from the bottom of my very soul that this for me was probably, in my opinion, the most real and raw story that Carian Cole has ever narrated. I have read a lot from this author and every book I have ever opened of hers has touched me in some way, shape or form “No Tomorrow” was for me the pinnacle of all these other reads and though I usually stay the hell away from anything to angsty I am so glad I took a chance on this as I felt that melancholy enchantment so starkly experiencing it down to the depths of my very soul. I honestly think this is one journey that just needs to be experienced in all its messy unapologetic glory. Going in blind here is probably the best thing you can do. Just living this pilgrimage of discovery right alongside Blue and Piper, feeling the intensity of sentiment and pure instinct as everything is amplified in this personal expedition of self-worth. So, This is not a traditional love story it is anything but, what we have here is a stark portrayal of obsession and need. Messy and sometimes selfish the road to happiness here is paved with heartache and tears. There no goodies and baddies in this it just is what it is. A bleak blunt spiral into absolute despair aided along in its ever-forward momentum by a lifelong battle with addiction and mental illness. I smiled and cried and also felt the depths of despondency right alongside Blue and piper I was in awe of pipers ability and capacity for caring and forgiveness she was such a strong warrior with the strength and resilience of a woman just in love with her man. I have to say through my own personal experience with mental illness and addiction that this author was so spot on in her portrayal of the downward spiral and also the mindset of someone dealing with such day to day demons. Demons that not only affect the individual but also the whole unit of friends and family especially a romantic partner. That’s what I liked about this the most, there was no unrealistic love cures all this was a process that never goes away but can with time, attention and care be lived with and managed. It was such a raw honest narrative that I truly appreciated. And though I felt my heart in my mouth throughout I was also glued to every poignant magical word expressed here so powerfully. Such an arresting expressive dialogue with a wonderful multi-faceted cast. And I absolutely adored that epilogue; If I could give this more stars than five I so would, this is a story that’s going to live within my heart for a very long time to come indeed. Please do yourself a favour and read; this one is in a league all of its own making. Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “No Tomorrow” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

❄️BOOK REVIEW❄️

Release Date-5th October 2018
Genre-YA Fantasy
Kindle Edition-204 Pages

Never trust a pretty face. My grandma taught me that. She warned me about the Fair Folk but I never believed her…until I was kidnapped by one. And damn, he is pretty.
But Fin was sent to bring me to his King, and if I want to survive the Otherworld, I have no choice but to trust him – for now.
Oh, and did I mention my sexy best friend is hunting me? I should’ve listened to Gran.

Cursed Rebel by H.G. Lynch
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed Cursed Rebel a lot; it was an action-packed foray into the world of faerie; one that I really found ever so entertaining. This being my first book by this particular author I wasn’t quite sure what to expect so I’m pleased to say that I easily managed to lose myself in the rich otherworldly landscape portrayed here so vividly. The excellent world building was a huge positive for “Cursed Rebel” the author has managed quite splendidly to build and describe this alternate backdrop in such vivid detail that I could quite easily picture in my head this colourful terrain we have been introduced to here. The story centres on Fin and Lucy and the events that unfold after he kidnaps her and transports her to Faerie, where he is under a compulsion to deliver Lucy to the king. There are also other players underfoot; one especially that has been keeping a big secret from Lucy. So, Not knowing quite who to trust, but needing her guides as she won’t last one minute alone in this beautiful but brutal land Lucy tries to make the best of her current situation. So why not a higher rating from me: look I really did find this a delightful read but I did have some slight issues with the beginning and the end of this story. This for me affected my final rating. Don’t mistake me this was still a solid experience but I did find the beginning here slightly rushed, I felt there wasn’t much build up to the actual main event. There was just no backstory or building up of Lucy’s everyday life before she finds herself in faerie, I felt we just skimmed the surface and didn’t really get a sense of her and her tribe and I did feel this was a slightly missed opportunity. I would have liked to have delved deeper into Lucy’s life pre Fin. I also felt the ending here was slightly rushed: like something was ultimately missing from the final recipe. Thankfully I had no issues elsewhere with the rest of this story, the rest of this was grand and did manage to pull me in, captivating my imagination and retaining my interest very easily. so despite the above, this was for me still a great entertaining read that I am happy to give a thumbs up to. Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Cursed Rebel” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

They call me brutal. They call me unrepentant. They call me possessive. I am all these things and much worse.

But to her, I will be conqueror.

The Golden Line is a dark, sinister Omegaverse romance for those with twisted tastes and a love for delicious villains. Complete power exchange dominates these pages, as does an attentive Alpha hero you will adore.

The Golden Line by Addison Cain
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my friggen god I bloody adored The Golden Line (Knotted,#1) like so much. Just when I think it can’t get any better than my previous Addison experience I get this little gem. I don’t really want to share this; nope nope nope.

I want to keep the delectable delicious Simin and all his deep grumbly purrs all to myself; he’s not yours girls; This Adorable Alpha is all mine.

Okay okay, I suppose I’m being greedy trying to keep Simil all to myself I can share the love if I absolutely have to. So this was really a tale of two halves for me; one of which I entered rather blindly. I really was quite literally in the dark towards where this was ultimately heading. Experiencing alongside Morgaine her frightful treatment at the hands of her Alpha tormentors. I was there as they broke her with there unapologetic conditioning and as she hit rock bottom my heart hurt so much for this poor confused and traumatised girl. Frantically looking around for someone to save her I was losing all hope. That was why it was so special to see Simin take a step out of the stereotypical box and attempt with his whole entire being to rebuild Morgaine’s shattered psyche. To come along and take this supposed feral omega for himself but also to actually see her as an individual and person in her own right was bewitching. So this one for me; had as ever everything that I usually find captivating and hypnotic when it comes to this authors work. All the usual magnetism you’d expect was still produced but this was alongside a much more softer overall approach when it came to her Alpha than we are usually given.

Don’t mistake me Simil is as Alpha as they come but he also came with the ability to place his omega at a much higher importance than his own needs and wants and it was magic.

Simin understood the best way to gain his omega Morgaine’s heart was ultimately through her trust; he had her lust but as his end game he wanted her soul also.
He was much more romantic than his predecessors and was not afraid to voice his feelings but rather than emasculating him it only enhanced his overall allure.

I also think taking away the ability to communicate through language and only through an interpreter brought a new layer to Alpha and Omega expectations. Much more care was taken considerably on Simil’s part because of the lack of verbal cues. It made it much more crucial to observe the non-verbal signs in each other. So this had everything you would usually expect from this series but with such a difference in approaches than what we are usually used to. I have to say, I’m equally a fan of both ways. I also loved the finale here; where it left us, on edge and salivating at the mouth for that next anticipated instalment. I feel like I am poised, waiting, breathe bated in expectation; the scene has been set with such finesse. Addison Cains omegaverse universe is fast becoming one of my all-time favourite series I can’t get enough of it, whatever light the participants are portrayed in. So before I go I should mention that this is an extended reworked story from the Royally Mine anthology that was originally titled Consumed. That was a short story that is no longer available; “The Golden Line” is now a full-length novel and has been extensively improved on. This is a series I can’t recommend highly enough and gets my whole-hearted seal of approval every single time. Tense, disturbing and clever, My Husband’s Lies is the second domestic noir from Caroline England, perfect for fans of C. L . Taylor and Apple Tree Yard.

My Husband’s Lies by Caroline England
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This one for me wasn’t really my bag at all. It was also filled with some truly awful individuals that I had great trouble feeling any sympathy for whatsoever. I mean there were some normal ones as well but I have never seen so many selfish peeps all in one book. I was frankly for the most part quite bored throughout and I only actually kept reading here because I was waiting for the other shoe to drop; newsflash it didn’t. I also found it quite hard going keeping the whole cast here straight in my head, it got quite confusing separating the characters as there were just so many of them to contend with. This had actually quite a lot going on here hence me hoping there was going to be an upward tilt at some point. At Its heart “My Husbands Lies” was for me a book about relationships and the tangled threads they can weave. We deal here with the repercussions of these secrets, hidden attractions and downright deceitfulness, throw in some mental illness and its really just a cauldron of catastrophe waiting to explode dramatically. And it does; though got to say when things finally reached their momentum here I was actually passed caring. That shocking finale for me actually felt slightly anti-climatic in nature and I could see it coming a mile off. On a side-note, I do think more could have been made with the Mother/Not my mother storyline I was disappointed that this was not expanded on and explored more fully. So on reflection, as much as I wish otherwise this one wasn’t quite to my taste; maybe it will be more to yours. Thank you to the Publisher, Author and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of “My Husbands Lies” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

?BOOK REVIEW?

Release Date-18th January 2017
Genre-Erotic romance (M/M/M/F)
Kindle Edition-337 Pages

I’ve never been afraid of the dark…but that doesn’t mean I wanted to live in it. And maybe everyone wants what they can’t have, but I should’ve thought it over before I accepted the key and unlocked the door to their forbidden world.

Number One is mostly silent. He watches me with them very carefully. His gaze never wanders. His interest never wanes.

Number Two is mostly gentle. But it’s the other side of him I like best. The wild side.

Number Three is mostly reserved. He refuses to cross the line. Even when I beg.

It was carnal, it was sensual, and it was erotic. That’s it. That’s all it was supposed to be. A trip into the dark. A peek into the forbidden.

I just didn’t expect to like them.

*****

I heard the door open and close and said nothing. And the footsteps coming down the hallway towards the bedroom. I even heard him say, “Hey.” So softly. “You awake?” Like he didn’t want to wake me.

I listened as he stepped into the closet. There was that slick sound a man makes when he pulls his tie through his shirt collar. I heard the unclasping of his watch. The jingle of his belt buckle and the shuffle of his pants as they dropped to the floor.

I even heard his moan as he stood over me. I could feel his shadow from the streetlamp outside like it was heat.

Then the bed creaked, the mattress sank. And his warm, hard body straddled me.
Still, I said nothing.

I just buried my face in the sweet scent of the pillow and closed my eyes, feigning sleep.

“Rochelle,” he whispered, leaning over me. His fingertips gently brushed the hair away from my shoulder. His mouth pressed against my skin. “Did you miss me? God, I’ve missed you. Two weeks is too long. We need to renegotiate.”

He nipped my neck. Kissed it. Licked my ear as he positioned himself to begin.

And I said… nothing.

Even though my name is not Rochelle.
That’s why I’m here. Tied up and gagged inside the closet. Sitting in the dark as three men on the other side of the door argue about where Rochelle went, why I was in her bed, and what they should do next.

I should be scared but I’m not.

I should be screaming, but I won’t.

Because this just feels very, very right.

And the only thing on my mind is… what will happen next?

Taking Turns by J.A. Huss
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

This was so much more than what I was originally expecting; what I was anticipating here was a really hot menage type or quad as this actually has four participants and while this was certainly steaming hot in nature and intent this was also so much more than that. Totally surprised me this did and in a totally good way as well. This story revolves around a game; A very adult dark game called taking turns. And what we have here is a decadent descent into all that is sensual and sexy as our girl Chella spirals further down the rabbit hole as she explores in depth her inert hidden nature. Smith, Quin and Bric all aboard this ride also and all with there own particular reasons for playing. One, Two and three each with there own set of bizarre rules agreed on by all; the end game, well it’s all four finally playing together as one whole.

As our tale evolves it quickly becomes apparent that one player is much more invested in the prize and is determined to win by giving Chella exactly what she needs to enable her to move forward with himself as her ultimate home.

I will give you that, Chella. I will fill in the deep, dark hole you’re so desperate to cover up with whatever it is you’re doing here with us, and I will make your longing go away. That’s my present.

So I adored all the men here But my hands down favourite was Smith; He has such a quirky atypical guy and I adored the fact he was just so intense and didn’t play with a full deck. He was my main man here all the way. The others were OK and all but Smith just had that slight edge for me. So this was an excellent read that was seriously and surprisingly very emotive. If I had one criticism here for me it would have been Chella herself I did find her at times to be slightly unreasonable in her attitudes to others. Well mainly Smith if I’m being honest I think she treated him rather unfairly originally and it got my back up hence the half a star deduction. As a whole, this is one that I’m happy to recommend just be aware before embarking here this is a romance with multiple partners and is fairly explicit in nature if you’re like me then that last sentence will only entice you to want to read this more. Taking Turns (Turning, #1) is the first instalment in a new series but this can be read as a standalone as far as I am aware the next part continues on with Rochelle’s story. So I managed to grab this when it was free so I lucked out there folks.

Genre-Fantasy Romance
Kindle Edition-203 Pages

Aldora lived in a bordertown on the edge of the maze. A labyrinth that spanned an eternity filled with creatures that howled through the night. She was a daughter to farmers that worked the fields and endured a quiet life as a peasant, away from the capital and its nihilistic celebrations; away from all that would look at her and discern her worth. Because to be chosen as a sacrifice was to be chosen to die. Until one night, while at the edge, she heard a husky voice in the darkness.

Vedikus Bathyr.
He prowled the overgrown passages at the farthest edges where the true, intelligent beasts roamed. They were all there for the same reasons: to kill each other and capture the humans that entered the labyrinth.

On one fated night a human girl called out to him. A girl with a voice that quickened his blood. But he wasn’t the only one to hear her call…

Minotaur is a dark fantasy romance with explicit violence and possible triggers. Mature readers only.

Minotaur: Blooded by Naomi Lucas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There was nothing hearts and roses in any shape or form about this story; in fact, it was more in my opinion about claiming and animalistic lust. It was also if I’m being honest a trifle strange in content, so you know what it was absolutely inevitable that I was going to bloody love this. I adore the weird and wacky and that is definitely what we are given here in spades. This is a strange unapologetic romp filled with bloody gore and extremely graphic and carnal copulation. Look this is going to be an acquired taste folks a bit like marmite; love or hate it people this is one that your not likely to forget in a bloody hurry. If your easily offended or shocked then probably better to walk on by here. Myself being a bit of a perve I found myself a spot and immediately got comfy; immersing myself fully in this unusual and strangely hot story. Have to say this was my first minotaur romance; I have done centaur (I loved that also; see self-confessed perve here) But here I did surely pop my cherry in all things, Bull. I say romance lightly here as we actually have precious little of that, this is much more raw and primal in nature than romantic overtures and heartfelt declarations. I also didn’t actually find this that dub-con in nature this to me just screamed more heavy seduction rather than rapey. Also, this is in no shape or form bestiality either I mean yeh technically the guy has hooves and a big bull dong and even horns but the dude walks upright and can reason and talk so in my book he’s hardly there chewing the cud in a field now is he. By that token, all shapeshifter romances would be reclassified wouldnt they. So In “Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1)” the story is relatively simple Aldora living in a border town gets herself thrown into the Labyrinth. Vedikus a Minotaur in the ways of his people takes Aldora for his own keeping her alive from all that would do her harm (Other than himself of course) within the labyrinth. Determining to claim her for his mate he is willing to maim and destroy anyone who dares try to take his prize away from him. And that’s it really; its actually quite a simple concept but I really did work. So Vedikus himself did kind of grow on me and though Aldora did very swiftly accept her fate here I found I didn’t have it in me to care that much, this really for me was pure unadulterated fantasy at its very best and I devoured every wicked scenario I was given gladly. The only reason I marked this down to a four rather than a five is I would have liked to have seen a bit more of them actually settled as a couple when they reached Vedikus’s home other than that I was a happy camper. I will definitely be indulging in the next book in this series Minotaurs are now my new flavour of strange but sexy. I borrowed Minotaur: Blooded (The Bestial Tribe, #1) with my KU subscription.

Release Date-31st August 2018
Genre-Alien Romance
Kindle Edition

Who knew reading sexy alien abduction stories could get a girl into trouble? Or that an e-reader could also be the gateway to another galaxy? I definitely didn’t… but here I am anyway, mated to the Tsenturion High Commander just like the unwilling human heroines in my favourite sci-fi romances.

The Commander demands obedience. He intends to claim me, train me, and turn me into his perfect little pleasure trophy. He doesn’t believe in love. I don’t believe in giving in without a fight. There’s no amount of discipline or ecstasy that could break me to his will… I hope.

Alien Captive is a hot alien abduction romance, starring one feisty human and the Tsenturion Warrior strong enough to potentially master her.

Disclaimer: the authors are not responsible for any actual alien abductions that may result should you purchase this book.

Alien Captive by Lee Savino
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So really enjoyed this one; found it so very amusing and its super scorching hot to boot.

I also really adored that oh so ridiculous disclaimer.

The authors are not responsible for any actual alien abductions that may result as a consequence of your purchase of this book.

Love it; that definitely got a chuckle out of me. Both are actually relatively new authors for me but it was all good from my corner as I certainly did enjoy getting acquainted with them both here. So this one is red hot and does contain a lot of Alien hanky-panky, not that I’m complaining mind. There are also some very unique differences in this interspecies romance that had my tongue hanging out in pure unapologetic delight, the fiercely descriptive originality of the narrative was fantastic and despite the many sexy scenarios we are introduced to here there is also a great imaginative storyline thread also running throughout. I loved how Dawn ultimately arrives as a tribute for the commander it was really so inventive and was just so refreshing to also experience an alien romance that doesn’t take itself to seriously. In fact, that was one of this books greatest assets its ability to make the fantastical just so mundane. The scenario we are introduced to here was just so fanciful and ingenious that I found myself devouring every impossible word. I bet we have all fantasised slightly; Ok I confess in my case a lot, about being the heroine in our own starring roles never for one minute thinking that fiction could become reality. Be careful what you wish for as for Dawn; well her x-rated daydreams have certainly become her new reality; lucky lucky girl.

In fact, I only have one question left where can I get one of those E-Readers and where do I sign up?

On a final note, I really did enjoy the brief glimpse into what could be an excellent continuing series. It really managed to pique my attention and interest and I for one would love to learn more and also explore where this could ultimately go. So pleased Gavrill and Dawn got there much deserved HEA; fingers crossed that we do get a book two in this series; I for one definitely want to continue on here. I mean come on we so need grumpy old Bogdan’s story next. Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Alien Captive” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “The Golden Line (Knotted,#1)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “The Golden Line (Knotted,#1)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

USA Today Bestselling author and Amazon Top 50 bestselling author, Addison Cain is best known for her dark romances, smoldering Omegaverse, and twisted alien worlds. Her antiheroes are not always redeemable, her lead females stand fierce, and

nothing is ever as it seems.

Deep and sometimes heart-wrenching, her books are not for the faint of heart. But they are just right for those who enjoy unapologetic bad boys, aggressive alphas,

and a hint of violence in a kiss.
