Some girls don’t like pretty things. Some girls like things that are destructive, and toxic. Things that fuel our bodies with adrenaline and bring our demons to their knees. They say magic isn’t real, but it’s it the closest way to describe love? It doesn’t exist physically. It merely exists around us, within us, possessing our souls and making us do stupid shit. Shit like falling in love with a boy who knows how to rip my world apart and raise hell with a simple flick of his wrist. Their secrets are now mine. I’m not just in the middle of this game, I’m helping orchestrate it. Can the cries of my aching soul be enough to drown out the burning embers of my mistakes? The mind strengthens the heart, roughing the edges to prepare it for war. This is a war I will not win. This is a war of fate. 𝑆ℎ𝑒’𝑠 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑘. 𝑆ℎ𝑒’𝑠 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑎𝑙𝑙. Malum: Part 2 by Amo Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OH MY!!! This book, my head is totally fried and my brain is all topsy-turvy. So many twists and turns and talk about epic gameplay this was stand-out brilliant from start to finish I just couldn’t put it down. I am seriously impressed with the way this all played out even though for the majority of this I had not a clue what the actual crack was. This story is all about puzzles and fitting the correct pieces together until a more complete picture starts to emerge. What a fantastical web this author has woven and this really did keep me right on my toes with its antsy but bloody addicting drama. So brief thoughts concerning this instalment. Nate needs to man the hell up and stop with the games and mixed signals. Tate has turned into some total mega biotch. Madison is keeping secrets from Bishop (hopefully another book featuring this delicious duo) Loving Brantley in this one, he really does come into his own here and I can’t wait to learn more about him so hopefully, he gets a book also. I am also really digging his creepy mansion with its many secrets. Adoring how much of a friend he is to Tillie and how he is always so supportive of her. Their banter sure made me smile. That epilogue was fabulous too I really appreciated it. This is such addictive reading, way confusing but of so delicious. Every book here is just as enthralling as the last and it is one of my favourite series of all time. Malum Part 2 definitely lived up to all my expectations. This one gets a massive hell yeh from me absolutely loved it.

Sweet Poisons
Natalie Bennett (Pretty Lies, Ugly Truths Duets, #1) Publication date: June 18th 2019

Genres: New Adult, Romance

Rhett Sullivan.

Mysterious boy painted in shades of red.

Nova Markov

Eccentric girl dripping in sunshine.

He was the type mother’s warned their little girls about—a cocky, rich asshole with a pretty smile, unapologetically insane and wild.

I was the type guys like him usually ignored—a free spirit who hid my crazy beneath an odd good girl facade, and the art hanging on my studio walls.

We were opposites in every way but one, and we collided like two runaway trains that never had a chance of stopping.

What blossomed between us, our ‘relationship’, was maniacal.

We got stuck in a cycle of madness.

Rhett Sullivan became a bittersweet poison I couldn’t get enough of.

In the end, that’s what destroyed me.

Because in the end?

Our love was nothing but a lie.

I said I was done slapping warning labels on my book babies this year, but since I have never written full on NA yet, I’m going to give a tiny one now. This will be the only label this duet will have. If you are not a fan of twisted stories that deal with dark themes, rich assholes, and lots of filthy sex, this will not appeal to you. This couple is not unicorns and rainbows and neither is their story.

Title: Day Three: A Hitman Romance Series: What Bad Boys Do Book 1 Genre: Romantic Suspense (Standalone) Release Date: June 11, 2019

L. Wilder definitely sucked me in with this new hitman romance. This fast-paced romantic suspense will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat until the very end. ~ Author RB Hilliard

OMG!!!! Five stars +! What a fantastic read. Day Three is the first book in a new series and it is everything you want in a L. Wilder book. ~Brenda (Amazon reviewer)

That prologue – wow!!! If the blurb didn’t already hook you, that sure will! Or maybe it’s the sexy man on the cover???! I absolutely loved everything about this story! It’s unlike anything I have read before. ~Jessica (Goodreads reviewer)

There’s nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose. New York Times and USA Today Best Seller L. Wilder brings readers Jasper Nichols, a sexy, totally alpha hitman, who will hold you captive in this new bad boy series. Our lives are defined by moments, especially the ones we never see coming. For me, that moment came when I was given the opportunity to take from those who’d taken from me. I became a hitman- killing mob bosses, drug lords and everything in between. With judges in their pockets, these men were untouchable by everyone—except me. With every hit, my plan was always the same: Day one- receive the target. Day two- acquire their location. Day three- plan the kill. Day four- complete the hit. On day three of my latest assignment, everything changed. The moment I saw her, I knew she was different from the others. Madison Brooks wasn’t a hardened criminal with blood on her hands. She was innocent, untouched by my world, and undeniably beautiful. On day three, I couldn’t get her out of my head. I kept imagining what it would be like to hold her, touch her, and claim her as mine. On day three, I found myself questioning whether or not I could complete my assignment. In fact, I found myself questioning everything. Many readers were introduced to the sexy, brooding recluse, Jasper Nichols, in Murphy: Satan’s Fury- Memphis, but his connection to Satan’s Fury ends there. Day Three is a new standalone romance novel with no cheating and a swoon-worthy HEA

“I thought you’d be more comfortable in here.” He ran his hand over his face and yawned before he said, “When I tried to leave, you wouldn’t let me.”

“What do you mean I wouldn’t let you?”

“Let me rephrase.” He turned and looked at me. “You asked me to stay with you.”

“Oh. I don’t remember that.”

“Happened just the same.” Concern flashed through his eyes as he sat up and asked, “How’s the ankle?”

I tried to move it a little. “I can’t say for sure, but I think it’s better.”

“Good.” Jasper got out of bed and my breath caught when I noticed he was only wearing a pair of boxer briefs. I could feel the heat rush to my face as my eyes skirted over his muscular chest and drool-worthy abs. I couldn’t imagine how often he’d have to work out to get such a perfectly defined physique. Whatever the answer, it was worth it. With his chiseled jaw and broad, powerful shoulders, he looked like a Greek god as he walked over to the end of the bed. I couldn’t take my eyes off him as he eased the comforter back and exposed my ankle. I was too busy gawking at him to realize what he was doing, but at that moment, I just didn’t care. He could’ve thrown the covers to the floor and had his way with me. I wouldn’t have protested. He lowered his hand to my foot, and a rush of heat surged through my body when he ran the tips of his fingers along the top of it and over my ankle bone. It was at that moment I started to silently curse myself, wishing I’d been better about shaving my legs. He was still studying my ankle when he said, “The swelling has gone down, but it’s still pretty bruised.”

“It’ll be fine.”

“You’ll need to stay off of it for a couple of days.”

“Okay.”

As he pulled the covers back over my foot, he told me, “I’ll be right back.”

Day Three by L. Wilder
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Despite its description of a hitman contracted to take out an apparently innocent mark don’t go expecting a dark romance as this really isn’t one. At its heart, “Day Three” is a really sweet love story that combines suspense and action with an almost healing balm of how the right person can help to heal the broken pieces of a damaged psyche. This one is an easy read that is told in dual pov. Its very instalove, low on the relationship angst with a deep romantic vein. It did work for this and if you like your stories more on the warm side this one will definitely do the trick. I thought the epilogue was a sweet touch as well. So despite being fairly predictable in places, this was still an enjoyable experience. One last observation I did feel some of the actions taken by the hero were a bit on the DUH! side especially considering his profession, you would think he would no better. They were only small things like when Madison turned her phone on at the cabin when she was meant to be dead and when they run to his family as well as staying on for a meal with his family to please his mum when there was a hitman on their trail and they should be solely focused on their own survival. But they still niggled me slightly as I felt a hitman just wouldnt behave this way and make silly mistakes. I also liked the way this is set up for a tale focusing on the brother and I expect all the siblings will get there own story.

Leslie Wilder grew up in a small town in West Tennessee. A country girl at heart, she’s always thought that life is too short, but she had no idea how short it really was until her brother passed away in 2014. She’s always been an avid reader, loving the escape only a great book can give, and wondered if she had what it took to write one of the wild romances she’d come to adore. With the support of her family and friends, she published Inferno: A Devil Chaser’s MC, one year after her brother’s death. With him in mind, she fulfilled her lifetime dream of writing. Since then, she’s completed the Devil Chaser’s Series and continued on with the Satan’s Fury MC Series. She has so many stories in her head, and can’t wait to share each and every one. Leslie has been blown away by the support of her readers, appreciating every message, review, and encouraging word she’s received over the past year. She looks forward to continuing this journey with them for years to come. Title: Sweet Like a Psycho Release Date: July 2, 2019 To most people, suburbia is synonymous with good school districts, manicured lawns, and friendly neighbors. But you can never really tell what’s hiding behind those white picket fences and smiling faces. I mean, we all have secrets. The kid down the street steals lawn gnomes. The woman on the corner is having an affair. And me? I’m a murderer. At least…that’s what everyone thinks. Because that’s the other thing about the suburbs. Rumors spread like wildfire. Handsome detectives start poking around. Houses explode. You know…the usual.  Yes, I have secrets. But so does everyone else. Welcome to suburbia. I’m one of the smiling faces waving from my front porch. Don’t you trust me?

I locked the door
and then just stared at it. God, I just lied to a
detective. Why the hell did I just lie to a detective?
It had felt right in the moment. But as soon as the words left my mouth I regretted them. I could have told him about the woman running through the woods. I could have pointed him in the direction that she had fled. I could have given him every

detail he wanted and gotten him out of my hair.

But instead I lied. I shook my head. He hadn’t left me with much of a choice. I couldn’t have the cops poking around in the woods. I couldn’t have them running all around my property with police dogs and metal detectors and whatever else cops used in

the search for a criminal. What if they found something? I couldn’t risk it.

I bit the inside of my cheek. Had the detective known I was lying? It looked like he did. Like he

could easily see right through me. Shit shit shit.

“It wasn’t a big lie,” I said into the empty room. “It was a little white lie. A nothing lie.

There are no consequences for a nothing lie.” Right?

I should have run back upstairs to finish what I had started just in case he came back, but instead I found myself pushing my ear against the door. There was no squeak of floorboards or crunch of leaves. I closed my eyes and tried to listen. The silence was incredibly loud as I pressed the side of my face harder against the

wooden door.

Detective Reed’s gaze had been so intense. It felt like he had locked me
in place when he was staring at me. Like I could barely even breathe. Does he feel as frozen as me right
now?

I moved away from the door. Of course he didn’t. There was no way that he was as affected by our meeting as I was. It was his job to make me feel frozen. For his eyes to bore into my soul, see my darkest sins, and to travel

down my body…I shook my head. No. That was most certainly not

his job. But he had done that, right? I hadn’t imagined it?

I swallowed down the lump in my throat. All my nerves were on hyperdrive. The only man I had interacted with recently was mailman Joe. And he was like seventy. This was a normal response to a man my own age. Especially one who looked like Detective

Reed. I glanced down at the business card in my hand. Detective Tucker Reed.

I tiptoed to the window in the living room and peered through a gap in the curtains. I expected to see him retreating through the woods, but he was just standing there. Staring at the door. Frozen. I could feel my pulse beating in my head. I hadn’t imagined it. He had been looking at me. Really looking. And it didn’t seem like

it was purely for detective reasons.

I let myself stare unabashedly at him from behind the safety of the curtain. He didn’t look how I expected a detective to look. Beer bellies and mustaches were the dominant features of the detectives in my mind. But he was most certainly not like the detectives I pictured in my head. He was wearing a formfitting wool jacket that was undoubtedly not hiding a huge stomach. If anything it was probably covering perfect six pack abs. I glanced down at his left hand. There was no ring on his finger. Hot and single. I was good at smelling trouble a mile away. And Detective Reed was most certainly trouble. After all, he was clearly the reason I had lied. I couldn’t think straight when a man with a chiseled jaw, five-o’clock shadow, piercing brown eyes, and a deep sexy

voice was staring right at me.

Yes, he was the
reason I had lied. He had made me act poorly. It was all his fault. Jerk.

He turned his head
and I threw myself down onto the floor. Ow. I cradled my elbow
that had just whacked the hardwood floors.

When I peered back out the window, the detective was gone. And a part of me wondered if I had

imagined him.

She will be my captive bride.

MY REVIEW

The Bratva’s Bride by Jane Henry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This one was just so good, this is the second book ive read by this author and I have enjoyed both so very much. This one features at its centre Demyan the head of the Bratva and Larissa. Larissa and her sister Calina are twins and after a supposed accident kills there hacker father Calini suffering from brain damage is institutionalised, her sister lies low while providing for her the only way she knows how with her less than legal computer skills. But after her sister not realising the consequences of her actions steals money from the Bratva with a laptop she snuck into her Larissa knows the only way to save her sister is to switch places. So Demyan is ice cold from the onset. He is set in his ways and likes order in his life. He is immaculate and very particular not only in his work but also in his playtime. He is at heart a sadist and gets off to a degree on his partner’s pain. Training his new kitten in how to please him to pay off her debt is going to be his pleasure. Larissa is not stupid she is aware that the way to get through this is to behave she is also surprised to actually like the way that Demyan makes her feel. It’s not in my opinion really that dark of a read, maybe a 3 on a scale of 10 This was told from dual pov which is always my favourite. I do so adore stories where the anti-hero stays true to himself and the heroine accepts him for that so this one definitely didn’t disappoint in that regards as Demyan has no intention of escaping his brothers in the Bratva, being originally an orphan they are his chosen family and his bride will now be apart of that extended family. I also really enjoyed the ending here. On a final note, this can easily be read as a standalone. This was a very easy read that I have no issues recommending at all.

Bailen Frances makes his choices carefully. He’s wise, considered, and delivers pain with no limits attached. Safeword? Irrelevant.

If they’ve asked for him and his leather gloved hands, they might just get him.

Danielle Crowell is envious of the world she can’t be part of. No one will touch her because of who she is, or rather who her father is. She’s played, tried, but the ache inside won’t be sated by the average dominant male. She needs someone who will tear her apart and give her the treatment she so desperately craves. But the profile she picked to meet isn’t available, and the one she’s opted for now seems familiar. Dark foreboding eyes. Dark features. Dark mood.
Scary as that is, and fearful as she might be, it’s just what she asked for.

Broken Envy Frances and Crowell: Indecency Suites Novella #7 by Anabella Roscoff
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hands Down my favourite of the whole series so far I just adored Broken envy. Its no secret I have a taste for the slightly darker undertones in my reading material and this one especially delivered that for me. Danielle and Bailen both have a penchant for the dark. Bailen is a makes no apologies sadist who knows exactly what he wants and needs in a playmate. Danielle has been into the kink scene for a while but is still exploring her boundaries and developing her inner masochist. But with an extremely important father, she’s a no-go. Hence her hook-up with Bailen. So this was so bloody delicious. It was just so dirty, sordid, harsh, bloody but also at the same time almost beautiful and poignant. It wasn’t the words it was the actions, Bailen giving Danielle what she needs and in return gets back something that he just wasn’t expecting. I also adored the potential for future growth here you can if you want just imagine your own end-game. This is the darkest of these novellas it’s M/F and is for this who like it slightly on the edge and though short it packs a solid punch.

MY REVIEW

The Whisper Man by Alex North
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow!! I am seriously impressed with “The Whisper Man” I couldn’t put this down I was that invested in the unfolding storyline. I also understand this is a debut author so that’s even more outstanding. The main focus of this story was Tom Kennedy and his son Jake. After the death of his wife Tom now a single parent moves his young son into the town of featherbank for a fresh start. twenty years previous Frank Carter had terrorised this area abducting and murdering young boys he was monikered the whisper man. now a new little boy is missing and policeman Pete Willis who handled the previous case back in the day is pulled back into the current ongoing investigation. So this was told in dual POV Tom and Pete. It was full of twists and turns a cleverly woven mystery that was hard to put down. Part police procedural, supernatural and Crime Thriller this was in a class all of its own. I especially liked the way this combined the riveting and at times eerie storyline with the everydays of normal life and the deeper issues of addiction and how this can affect the family. The way this cleverly manages to weave all the loose threads into a coherent end-game just outstanding. This was for me a five star read all the way.

She was never meant to be his…

Two ruthless enemies. One cage. Zero chance of escape.

An explosive lust that can’t be contained.

Until she ends up naked, captured, and collared, her latest assignment in jeopardy. The blame for her predicament: the hothead, scarred man who prowls the cage beside her—his confusing appeal a danger she has no idea how to neutralize.

Ex-Resistance fighter Walsh Ryker hit rock bottom with the deaths of those he loved most. Now, he’s plummeted to a new low, trapped with a cellmate as ice cold as she is stunningly hot. She’s out for blood, lacks any ability to cooperate…and leaves him more alive than he’s been in years. For a man no longer interested in feeling anything at all, she may be the greatest hazard he’s faced to date.

As danger mounts and they must work together to defeat a shared threat, will the unwelcome passion between these two enemies entomb them in the dark forever—or be the key that sets them free?

TORMENTED, Book Three in the Condemned series, is a stand-alone, high heat, action-adventure romance that hurtles to the ends of the universe to explore redemption and forgiveness, need and love, and the power of second chances.

Like the other books in the Condemned series, TORMENTED can stand on its own.

This book does come with a trigger warning. Dragath25 is a dark, brutal prison planet.

MY REVIEW

Tormented by Alison Aimes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was really looking forward to this one just because of how much of a tool Ryker could sometimes be in the previous book and I was interested to see how this would play out in his own story. I was also very intrigued to see if the glimpses we got beneath the surface off this complex man who had lost so much would continue and just what kind of man in essence Ryker at his core actually was. So Walsh Ryker ex-council soldier turned resistance fighter with such a tragic back story and Jade Lakotesh brainwashed council assassin on this brutal penal planet to retrieve a dangerous weapon and then destroy Dragath25 and all who reside there. But plans are never set in stone and when these two end up imprisoned together they must work together like it or not to outwit Prisoner 223 and his gang. So Ryker detests anything Council and Jade is most definitely their trained lackey. But the more she learns here the more she questions her superiors cruel methods and her ultimate mission statement and goals. Jade despite her profession has a strong moral compass, she’s also all about the logic and likes to weigh the odds. Ryker is her complete opposite, a bit of a hot-head he sometimes speaks and acts before he thinks. Together these two were dynamite and they had an explosive personal chemistry that just projected off the page. So, this was very much enemy to lovers and out of the three in the Condemned series: this one I enjoyed the most. “Tormented” for me was just the complete package. I’m not sure why this had the slight edge for me in terms of my rating, I just felt a tad more connected overall to Ryker and Jade as characters and the whole story here just felt so evolved and developed. Action-packed practically from the onset and full of witty banter between the two mains this was such a page-turner. I also appreciated the added explanations about prisoner 223 and his background. this one for me was the stand out winner of this series so far, each book for me slightly topping the previous. I am really looking forward to experiencing Griff’s book next, we will hopefully discover what darkness he keeps hidden behind his deliberately charming persona. Fingers crossed that a newly enlightened someone might have caught a slim break and will get his own story as well.

ARC REVIEW

Release Date-May 28th 2019
Genre-Fantasy Romance
Kindle Edition-282 Pages

I died.

It was supposed to be the end of my story. But after Aon buried me in the Pool of the Ancients, I learned that Under wasn’t done with me yet.

Even though I escaped death the first time, there’s a prophecy predicting my demise, and it’s driving Aon mad. His desperation to protect me is dangerous, deadly, and I’m afraid of what he might do.

The void that threatens to destroy this world is receding, yet Under is still not safe. I can feel it in my blood, the warning that something terrible is coming. Something bigger and stronger than all of us.

But I am no longer the human girl merely fighting for survival. I’m different now, changed into something this world hasn’t seen in fifteen hundred years.

I am immortal, a queen of Under.

I am the Queen of Dreams.

MY REVIEW

Queen of Dreams by Kathryn Ann Kingsley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh, this is just the best, it’s turning into one of my stand-out favourite series EVER!!!! and let me tell you I have read a lot of books.

So where are we at now, this is book 3 with 3 more to go and every instalment of this is as different and also as good as the last one. Lydia is now Queen of Dreams, the mother of monsters and with her trusty sidekick of Q an inner monologue and now separate entity of her conciseness it’s time to kick butt. Aon is trying his utmost to motivate Lydia to be self-sufficient and in charge of her own protection even if that means using methods that may be extremely unpleasant. Aeon himself is such a contradiction of extremities, the contrast between Aon’s bloody inventive tortures and yes I do mean that literally and his loving regard and affection for his resurrected dragonfly was intense. She also finally gets to see the man behind the mask: man that was way cool and intense. This was such a page-turner and I just couldn’t put it down, I raced through in record time not wanting it to come to an end as I had such fun and immersed myself in all that is under. We have a prophecy that lead’s to a jaw-dropping decision, a new player is also brought forth. Edu that sanctimonious tin can is still on the warpath and Lydia steps out from behind her Warlock and stands alone taking baby steps into her new world while also trying to make peace with Aon’s actions. Adored everything here have no negatives at all it was stand-out bloody amazing from start to finish. All I need now is “King of Blood” can’t bloody wait!!!

I voluntary reviewed a copy of Queen of Dreams (The Masks of Under #3).
