The Truth About Cinder by Alta Hensley
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
This one I’m sorry to say wasn’t really for me a sort of kinky post-apocalyptic master /slave romance based kinda loosely on Cinderella, except it isn’t really that at all. I mean we have cinders, a prince, a palace and some mistress sisters but that’s about the extent of it really. I felt this didn’t know where it wanted to be at and at times encompassed too many different themes. I think this would have fared better if we had stuck with one theme or the other instead of as many as we did. I have read and enjoyed this author before and as you would expect this was as well written as her previous works just not really my bag. So this is quite an erotic read that is told entirely from Cinders POV and the initial premise was initially intriguing. This had some dark themes that some readers might struggle with but on the whole, this is not a massively dark story more of an erotic adventure. Least favourite from this author but this was still well written just not for me.

A Baby for the Bratva by Chloe Kent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This one surprised me I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would. This author had such a way with words when it came to describing the dirty stuff and It really was just so hot and heavy. Not a massively complicated story this does what it says on the tin and is really all about the loving filth. It’s not really a dark read more a rough and ready power exchange read with three dominant alpha males ready and willing to share our young Starla. So basically the gist here is three bratva brothers Mikhail, Dimitry and Nicolay Bychkov need a woman to give them a baby: yes this if you haven’t guessed from the cover here this one is a reverse harem. Wanting someone with limited connections they obtain an American girl Starla Anderson from a local Russian orphanage. This was really well written and surprisingly engrossing its full of lots of dubious consent and plenty of dominance and submission if that’s your bag. This one is plenty graphic in terms of its content and I also loved that this really bordered on the edge of rough at times. There was Spanking, humiliation medical play and lots of discipline throughout. This really was quite the bag of tricks and there was something here for everyone. it’s not an incredibly complicated story but let’s be honest that’s not why I picked this up now, is it? A surprising sensual read that I really did enjoy for all the right reasons. If your looking for something to make you squirm in your seat this author definitely has a magic touch with this type of fiction.

A Baby for the Mountain Men by Chloe Kent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
If you have read this author before you will know just what type of story to expect here. Some hot and heavy reverse harem content that is as delicious as it is graphic. There is all the usual stuff going on here the dominance and submission that at times borders on the edge of rough. Lots of discipline humiliation and medical play I just adore how this author weaves her wicked web so decadent and dirty but then also managing to make you believe in the purity of there eventual love which is also such a direct contrast to the goings-on here. So this one features Soraya Arlington who is promised to brothers Logan, Noah and Archer Lockhard to pay a debt her father owes. It is, as usual, very hot and heated and I read this in one complete sitting. Really well written and a stand out in its category. There is a little side story going on to provide some slight angst but this is mainly all about the action and of that there is plenty.
Really did enjoy this and can definitely recommend.

Twisted Love Meisner and Chalfont: Indecency Suites #8 by Anabella Roscoff
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is one of my top-runners in this series and I do find I tend to gravitate towards the more forceful and domineering stories, that’s just the way I roll. This type of tale is just my kryptonite and it brings me down, all in a good way, each and every single time. This particular erotic short centres on a Master and Sub type dynamic, it was just the right amount of dirty decadent and delicious. Master Marcus is all dominant and powerful control with a side order of sadistic and sensual seduction and Suzanna for him is all potential pleasing perfection so much so that he is now ready to move there unusual dynamic to a new level of intimacy one that will ultimately prove her worthy or maybe not of his own brand of individual special attention. The chemistry projected between this sadistic Sir and his willing Pupil punches of the page and though this is short there’s nothing lost in the process. Perfect if all you have is a short window to get your fix these stories certainly reel you in and ring you out leaving you pulsing and panting. I also really appreciated that little reveal at the end of this concerning Marcus it really was the cherry for me just perfecting things here. I loved this one a lot and it is by far my fave yet.

She was offered as a sacrifice. He took her as his mate.
The moment her ship crash-landed, Selena Marks knew she was in way over her head, and that was before the natives of this planet took her captive, stripped her bare, and brought her deep into a sacred cave to be given as a sexual sacrifice to the godlike brute whose whims they serve.
Though Selena has an idea of what is in store for her, when her captor claims her it is far more intense than anything she could have imagined. Every attempt at defiance or escape ends with her pleading for mercy as her quivering body is punished and ravaged in the most shameful ways possible, but with each helpless, screaming climax, the truth becomes harder and harder to deny.
She is his mate, and soon she will beg for him to breed her.
Publisher’s Note: Mate includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.
Mate by Trent Evans
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Mate is very much a story of Domination and submission it wasn’t incredibly complicated and instead of this being plot-driven, It focused more on the physical. That’s not to say this wasn’t an enjoyable experience because it was just don’t go expecting some epic blockbuster because that is not what this essentially is about. Pilot Selena Marks is on a space mission observing a primitive planet and its inhabitants when the ship loses power. Flying an escape pod to the surface she finds herself taking the place of the lastest sacrifice and in the clutches of an omnipotent being of unknown origin Malcolm who informs her that he is keeping her as his mate. This also comes with a hefty dose of humiliation and also a lot of objectification. The humiliation is really just name-calling and not anything way out there or severe and it is something Selena herself gets off on also.
This was essentially well-written but this one is really more about the kinky antics of Selena and Malcolm it was not an incredibly deep tale but it was fun all the same.

The Fallen: Genesis a prequel novella in The Deadly Virtues Series and MUST be read before RAPHAEL (DV: book one).
Raphael by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Wow just wow, I absolutely inhaled this book, I mean I was expecting great things here but this surpassed all my exceptions with its addictive and unique storyline and I can’t wait for the next one in this series to release so I can continue my onward journey alongside the Fallen and The Brethren. We are originally introduced to “The Fallen” in the prequel to this, so you really do need to read that before this just to get a heads up into the way this world has been set up. This one concentrates on Raphael and Maria it’s dark, depraved and twisted from the onset. Just how I like them The reality that we face here is so far from the normally accepted view of what is morally right but Gabriel The Fallens kind of self-appointed priest has put in place a set of tenent’s to protect not only the innocent but to also shield his brothers while also sating their inner monsters by setting them free on those that he feels deserve there particular type of justice. So Maria manages to get herself caught in the crosshairs of both The Fallen and The Brethren, sort of collateral damage if you will. The dance then between her and Raphael was just so intense from the minute he lays eyes on her he knows shes it and the commandments hes lived by up until now take second place to his new obsession, his Rose. This was a battle between light and dark and Raphael to me was all about contrasts. Take Raph’s Roses the similarities there were in the way he nurtures and coax’s them to full bloom before plucking the flower and the way he views his Rose. The same hands that seem to deliver both life and death. Raphael’s own internal image of love has been completely warped by his past affecting all his interactions beyond what’s considered normal and Maria’s own dark past has also damaged her leaving her very susceptive to Raphael’s unique brand of care. This was everything I adore in a new series and I was gripped and invested instantly. The ongoing battle with the Brethren was nicely continued and set-up for future story growth and I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us. Highly recommend this one especially if you like them dark and unusual on that front this one delivers in spades, bring on the next.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This one was just so good, this is the second book ive read by this author and I have enjoyed both so very much. This one features at its centre Demyan the head of the Bratva and Larissa. Larissa and her sister Calina are twins and after a supposed accident kills there hacker father Calini suffering from brain damage is institutionalised, her sister lies low while providing for her the only way she knows how with her less than legal computer skills. But after her sister not realising the consequences of her actions steals money from the Bratva with a laptop she snuck into her Larissa knows the only way to save her sister is to switch places. So Demyan is ice cold from the onset. He is set in his ways and likes order in his life. He is immaculate and very particular not only in his work but also in his playtime. He is at heart a sadist and gets off to a degree on his partner’s pain. Training his new kitten in how to please him to pay off her debt is going to be his pleasure. Larissa is not stupid she is aware that the way to get through this is to behave she is also surprised to actually like the way that Demyan makes her feel. It’s not in my opinion really that dark of a read, maybe a 3 on a scale of 10 This was told from dual pov which is always my favourite. I do so adore stories where the anti-hero stays true to himself and the heroine accepts him for that so this one definitely didn’t disappoint in that regards as Demyan has no intention of escaping his brothers in the Bratva, being originally an orphan they are his chosen family and his bride will now be apart of that extended family. I also really enjoyed the ending here. On a final note, this can easily be read as a standalone. This was a very easy read that I have no issues recommending at all.

Tamed by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 3,5 of 5 stars
So this one was a tricky one for me to rate as on the one hand I was highly intrigued and wanted to discover where this was going after the conclusion of book one but on the other hand, I am really finding it hard to relate to Connor himself: as a character, he is just so unsympathetic: He has no likability folks. Well anyway, I persevered and I enjoyed this much more than its predecessor. Despite my above complaint, Conner does show more of a human side in this instalment. He’s never gone a win humanitarian of the year but compared to Taken he’s practically a pussycat here. This one is heavy on the pet play and extreme power exchange so just be aware of that going in here. It did originally catch me unawares as the blurb for the previous book didn’t mention this. On reflection, I probably would have enjoyed this more if Conner has shown some remorse for past deeds and yeh I get that this is a dark romance and took that into account when mulling over my thoughts. I have no idea why my brain sometimes gives a free pass into heinous deeds then other times refuses to play ball: but this is one instance I did struggle slightly I don’t mind admitting. Still, this was an interesting premise and it was well written and engaging just probably not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. I will be reading the next part as want to see how this will all be resolved. I voluntary reviewed an Arc of Tamed (Book two in the Dark Necessities trilogy).

Taken by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Hard one to rate this one I enjoyed myself but at times this did make hard reading. This is almost felt at times like an erotic version of the King book Misery. Where an erotic author is taken captive by an obsessed super fan and this time she gets to play the leading role from her own warped imagination. This was heavy on the Pet-Play and humiliation is the definite kink here. Taken itself is a very stockholmy type dark romance dealing with themes of complete power exchange so please do be aware of this fact. Connor himself is also a really hard one to stomach and he doesn’t always come across in the best of lights. He’s good looking and charming but with a completely psychopathic personality that he keeps underwraps and at times the lines are really blurred here. This is hard-core dark romance definitely not shades of grey and this so won’t be for everyone. I’m in the fence slightly: I will be continuing as I want to know where this is heading after that finale. So, This was well-written dark and disturbing I myself would have rated this higher if I could have taken to Connor but I really just couldn’t. It will be interesting to see where this goes in regards to the romantic aspect of things because at the moment I am a tad sceptical of these finer feelings from Connors camp. I voluntary reviewed an Arc of Taken (Book one in The Dark Necessities trilogy).

⭐️⭐️STARS ARC BOOK REVIEW
So this was a new author for me and while I’m not ruling out reading more of this particular writers work in the future to see if I can find one overall that’s a better fit for me; This story “Safe Haven” I had a really hard time making an actual connection with. I just couldn’t seem to feel much for the characters involved here at all; which was such a shame as this wasn’t badly written, just missing something vital for me overall and I’m still not sure what that was exactly. I think it was maybe a collection of items that contributed ultimately towards my disconnect here. First, the way this story was told; using two separate narratives to arrive at a final destination where Candy and Captains destinies eventually converge; this didn’t actually work for me. I found it extremely long-winded and unnecessary; sorry I just wanted the main course and was getting really sick of the bloody appetiser; it was actually 75% before these two eventually crossed paths; And from the actual blurb itself, this was not what I was led to believe was the case here, at one point I even checked to make sure I was actually reading the correct book; I was obviously. I do understand what the author was trying to achieve here, and it was very brave of her to think outside the box like this; unfortunately for myself, this style of storytelling was a bust. Not allowing me to become emotionally invested in them as a couple rather than just individuals lost the majority of my attention if I’m honest. Now if you’ve have read previous in this series, You will be already acquainted with Captain and Candy and this will probably work out much better for you being somewhat invested in there future and not just going in blind like I did. I also didn’t feel any real chemistry between these two beyond there obvious shared kink. There seemed to be a lack of bonding and deeper conversations overall and it made me wonder how can they profess to love what they don’t actually know; these two seemed still such strangers to each other, even by the end. The age gap itself didn’t bother me here either; Captain needed to really let that one go; what he should have been focusing on was their lack of any conventional interaction rather than mere numerals after all age is just a number. I also hated the name Candy; wasn’t totally convinced that some people would be so rude to a complete stranger over there outward appearance; think it, yes, but not actual voice it aloud. I asked my partner about this and he disagrees completely saying, that YES!! people are dicks and they so would behave in such a despicable obnoxious fashion; I’m too nice and like to see the best in everyone and also that I’m too British whatever that actually means. I did enjoy spectating in Charlies/Captain’s metamorphosis from boy to man; I think this was actually my favourite part of “Safe Haven” overall. So there is a second book after this; one I’m sorry to say I won’t be partaking of. I’m just not emotionally invested enough here to want to continue on this journey to the finish. I will try again with a different book from this author; just to see if I can find one that’s maybe a better fit. Don’t let me put you off though, this is just my own personal take on “Safe Haven” and as you can see from the reviews, I am definitely in the minority here, we are all individuals so what doesn’t ultimately work for me might well be totally different for you. Thank You to the Author for providing me with a review copy of “Safe Haven” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
