He’s searched for her across centuries. But he’s not the only one . . .

When he realizes the woman whose death haunts his dreams could be alive, he will risk everything just to touch Helen again. But her past can’t be erased, and neither can her old enemy–a demon who will destroy worlds just to possess her. Author’s Note: This is a standalone fantasy romance with vampires, witches, and mythological creatures.

Blood Prince: A Standalone Fantasy Romance by Celia Aaron
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Blood Prince” was an enjoyable read steeped in mythology, love and passion. A second chance romance featuring the fabled lovers of old Helen of Troy and Paris. The second book in this series and I would suggest reading them in order to get the most out of this fascinating world. Though technically this can be read as a standalone as all the components are there: I just thought for me that it brought much more to the whole experience to be so fully immersed in this world. Paris an aged vampire has been mourning his lost love Helen across the ages. Unbeknown to him she is now a goddess’s handmaiden the battle warrior Elena and has absolutely no memory of there long history or even who she was. To also add confusion to the mix there is also a psycho demon Ex-husband who will stop at no lengths to win back his obsession. So this one had a bit of a slow start for me but once it got moving then it was great a visual delight of passion, adventure, magic and mythology: this is one read that was packed full of action. A real edge of your seat ride that I enjoyed so much. There are so many directions that this series could head: the possibilities are endless. A really imaginative fresh take on an old legend: this one definitely gets my seal of approval. I voluntary reviewed an Arc of Blood Prince

Every night he destroys her innocence. Each morning she awakes anew, memory clean —pure enough to be tainted, twisted, and adored for the devil’s sick pleasures.

Catacombs by Addison Cain
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Woah! What did I just read? This was such a twisted delight of erotic Horror mixed in with a huge dash of macabre menace. A tragedy in the makings just counting down the seconds and minutes until that haunting and wretched end-game: Got to say here I devoured every ill-fated circumstance placed before me. Everything unnatural and grotesque about this story hooked me in like a like a fish on a line. Catacombs itself is not in any way a romance: so if that is what you are expecting here turn around and walk away: there is nothing fanciful and loving between these pages. What we are given is a sinister descent into obsession and madness where Pearl imprisoned by the very monster she also craves awakens each day with no memory of the days passed. A complete blank canvas for Darius to paint his own particular brand of brutality and sweet care. He is the puppet master and Pearl his own personal marionette. The sole provider of Pearl’s happiness and health. And If like me you’re drawn to the darkness within: revelling in the bizarre and outlandish the Catacombs is probably the story for you. A story that drags the reader into the depths of the dark and is completely unapologetic in its delivery and intent. This was such a distinct and different read and that finale: just Woah! This is one twisted tale that I highly recommend it may be short but it certainly packs a punch. I give very few novellas the full five stars: but Catacombs, in my opinion, deserves every single one. Just be aware before reading this that it is a dark read with dubious consent throughout no your own limits. So yeh this one for me was fantastic and gets a massive thumbs up and I am so excited to hear that this premise is being developed into a new series: I for one can’t wait. Catacombs originally featured in the anthology “When The Dark Wins”: This collaboration is no longer available. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Catacombs

Words like unnatural and impure started the whispers.

From the very beginning, Ivy Blackwood was different. She was only a child when she was accused of setting the fire, one she passively watched engulf the small house she had called home. Her fingertips burned and her hair singed. Some who watched her crossed themselves, convinced she was soulless for she showed no emotion at all. Calm and dispassionate, even when the screaming started that quickly turned to bellows of agony before dying into nothing but the roaring of the fire.

She was locked away where she couldn’t bring harm to herself or others. To all involved, they had protected the world from a monster, but sometimes things are not what they seem.

The Gathering by L.A. Fiore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So this Blew me away: it was so breathtaking and also so completely different to what I was originally expecting.

A really hard one to describe and categorise but I will most certainly try my very best. So: When I started this I was a tad confused: there is almost a purposeful layer of mystique layered here to tantalise and obscure: serving to also bait that hook with such delicious allure. But no matter my perplexity here there is no way on this planet I could have put this down as each baffling bone thrown only served to further titillate my senses. Drawing me in and weaving such an intricate web of fascination. It was almost like the story here was unfolding and revealing itself a morsel at a time and we were as much in a state of bewilderment as the colourful cast of otherworldly individuals were. And what a line-up of diverse characters we had here: if you can think of it them: they were probably included here. Vampires, shapeshifters, witches, gods, demons, ghosts the list goes on: you would think it wouldn’t actually work but it does. This was urban fantasy at its finest and I was agog with such wonder the entire time. Cleverly written from multiple viewpoints: all eventually converging at one point in time Fast paced with something for everyone: this had action, mystery, horror, love and let’s not forget the sex (had that too) This really was a smorgasbord for every eventuality and appetite. I’m really looking forward to seeing where the Ivy Blackwood Chronicles journey will take us next.

I for one will have a first-class ticket for that exciting trip.

The gathering itself then manages to wrap-up proceedings ever so nicely while still leaving some loose threads dangling for further progression. I was left here with a profound sense of anticipation for this author’s next instalment. My first experience with this author but most definitely not my last. I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Gathering (Ivy Blackwood Chronicles, #1)

Beauty’s War by Claire Marta
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Was excited to read a collaboration between these two authors as they are both ones I have loved previously. And this was for me, for the most part, was great; It has so much to recommend itself and was such an easy read to get lost in. Focusing on the Roman gods, the basic premise here is that Jupiter the king of the gods has a law firm in Rome that he runs with the help of his godly offspring. This is a front to help and assist mankind in an ongoing war with his brother Pluto the god of the underworld. Pluto also has a rival firm and his end game is to cause as much chaos and evil insanity in direct opposition to his family’s directive. His goal; to totally eradicate life for the humans as they know it and he will use any means necessary to achieve this objective. Including a goddess who has no idea of her original origins. So this is the story of the god of war Mars; a lawyer working on the side of good for his father’s Law firm. Tasked with befriending the newly awakening goddess of beauty and love Venus and protecting her from his uncle Pluto it’s not long before events start to escalate leaving behind destruction and devastation in its wake. So for me, the fallout here was rather shocking and was not quite what I was expecting from this. This is where things lost a bit of there glitter and shine for me as this was so much darker than what I was actually expecting. Please do be aware there are some dark situations depicted in Beauty’s War (Gods Reborn). My rating reflects my struggle with this dark material and is no way a reflection on these authors combined talent; this was as expected excellently written. Despite my pains with the overall brutality here I still did enjoy this. I adore anything mythology related and this had that in spades. This was such an imaginative perspective on the gods, one that I truly appreciated. It had some extremely likeable characters alongside the dregs of humanity and beyond. Such a real vivid contrast of extremes that when placed side by side really reflected this picture back so starkly. This on reflection eas such an interesting beginning to a new series. I for one will be watching keenly to see where this is heading. Just be aware as I mentioned earlier that this was extremely dark and brutal in some places so please do avoid if this is an issue for you. Thank you to the authors for providing me with a Review copy of “Beauty’s War” (Gods Reborn) of which I have reviewed voluntary.

5 Stars Arc Book Review

Release Date-30/7/18

I really enjoyed this like so much from the second I picked this up I was invested and enthralled. “Bewitching Sloth” is a fantastic start to an imaginative new paranormal series that focus on the seven sins. These sins have been bestowed on the children of the Grim Reaper. Seven siblings each carrying an individual stain gifted by the devil himself. This first instalment we join Isabella Wen; a powerful witch who just happens to be on the run from an evil entity and Sebastian Reaper oldest son and keeper of Sloth. From the onset here we are flung right into the action, in fact, this was manic form the first page. With incredible one-liners, fantastic world building and incredible humour, this book delivers on all fronts. Overall this was such an easy read with extremely likeable characters and as an added bonus the side cast was also exceptionally intriguing also; I can honestly say Im looking forward to each and every story that was hinted at here. “Bewitching Sloth” set the stage here so nicely for the unfolding drama and I am already its avid audience. I really can’t wait to see what this series is going to bring to the table. This one’s a no-brainer for me; Read it, you definitely won’t be disappointed; I guarantee you this. Five very well deserved Stars. Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Bewitching Sloth (Seven Deadly Book 1)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

The Devil’s Plaything by Claire Marta
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Release Date-19/7/18

The Only creature who has ever been able to bring the devil to his knees, my beautiful deadly Queen

This was such a delicious concluding instalment to a series that had previously captured my attention so completely with it’s ingenious and fresh perspective on that old tug of war between good and evil and everything that lies in the grey of the in-between. And after where we previously left off with this I was practically salivating to jump headlong back into the action alongside Mavi, Lucifer and all the rest of the gang. Having no idea how this was going to continue after that massive cliffhanger of a finale in book one I was ever so curious to see how “The Devil’s Plaything” was going to recover from the burnt ashes it had collapsed into previously. This is one book ive been wanting to hurry up and hit my kindle like so much and I have to tell you it was so worth the wait folks. So after a quick re-read of its predecessor, I was raring to go and almost instantly catapulted into a world of confusion where nothing is as it seems and the king of manipulations and lies that is Lucifer seems up to his old tricks; scheming and playing his cards totally to his own advantage. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt really I did, but it was just so hard when time after time he seemed to be playing a game that only he was aware of all the rules. No regard for Mavi or seemingly anyone else, stomping on her obvious affections without a care. And the more this progressed the deeper the hole he seemed to did himself into with Mavi I really didn’t see how he was going to explain his way out of this one. And while Lucifer spun his manipulations around the whole saga the contrast in his portrayed intent and actual attention to Mavi was just so confusing, I didn’t know what to think as he was Constantly blowing hot and cold throughout. And talking of heat the sexual antics between these two were seriously smokin in nature with a raw unapologetic carnality that I bloody adored. In fact, there was just so much here that I was loving as this was just such a fantastic engaging read. I think one of my favourite aspect of this series was the unrepentant nature of its characters. I adore it when we are given an unashamed anti-hero that stays totally true to there inner nature. A monster that is still kinda a monster to everyone but the one they adore and that’s what we are treated to here; Lucifer is who he is and makes no excuses for his inert essence. And Mavi herself is more than a match for him her ultimate wickedness complimenting Lucifers corrupt core just so cruelly and with such great finesse. So this is set primarily in Hell away from Ceasefire which I actually prefered. We also get to experience Lucifer this time in his true form which was also a mega plus for me. There are definitely some surprises here that leapt out of left field and totally knocked my socks off. And there were times occasions that I really hated Lucifer with a bloody passion and wanted to knock him the hell out. This is one of those reads that once started can’t be put down so great is its pull.

I was transfixed to the bitter end.

They call him a monster. Weaver of lies. The great deceiver. Yet the devil has wept for me. Fought For me. Taken me in his dark Embrace

I cant recommend this book series enough my only criticism here is it had to end. So looking forward to experiencing much more of this fantastic world and seeing what else this talented author has planned for us next. I was provided with an ARC of “The Devil’s Plaything (Ceasefire #2)” By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Release Date-19/7/18

This was my first book by this particular author and I really did enjoy myself here. Rich in a sense of history as well as the added bonus of paranormal and romance this has something to satisfy all tastes. I myself adored the rich tapestry of history we are exposed to as “Condemned” plays out drawing me into its rich atmospheric ambience so easily. Set in the field of archaeology this cleverly combines the old and the new making for such a fascinating tale. I wasn’t aware upon starting this that it was part of a series; no worries this can easily be read as a standalone; I had no issues whatsoever doing so. I did find this quite slow growing initially with a lot of time going into building the momentum so when Dominic and Belinda eventually do meet it did seem slightly instalove. This was one of the slight issues that pulled Condemned down a tad for me. I’m not overly fond of the Wham Bam! I love you vibe and prefer myself much more of a slow build when it comes to the feelings department. I also thought Belinda got over the whole Oh No; he’s a bloodsucking vampire fact far too easily, I mean come on he’s a freaken bloodsucker; you’d think she would be a tad warier than she actually was. Once she got over the initial OMG shock she hardly gave it a second thought. despite some slight issues I still enjoyed this very much. It has so much going for it in terms of plot and both main characters were extremely likeable individuals. The history here for me was a major selling point, and this delivered in spades on that front. I also never saw that ending coming either, completely snuck up and blindsided me. In conclusion, this was such an enjoyable read filled with Vampires, witchery, history and archaeology delivering a menagerie of flavours. And despite having a vampire for the Hero I did not find this dark in the least. A feel-good paranormal romance that certainly delivers on the romance front. Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Condemned (Cursed by Blood Saga Book 7)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

To stay ‘alive’, a stoneshifter must make love to a female every ten years.

When Mila discovers her sister will be the next victim on Sacrifice Day, her normal reply would be, sorry, I’m busy.

After viewing ancient data and seeing the massive size of stoneshifters, Mila decides to rescue Tiana. Her sister is blood and she’d rather not see her tied to the sacrifice table and turned into jam.

Everything goes wrong, of course.

Lord Zarblu, stoneshifter and owner of the enormous black fortress looming over the city, turns his gaze upon Mila.

Like a giant cat with a teensy mouse, Zarblu plays with Mila. Catch…release…catch. Gentle and caring are words that no stone-beast monster should claim, surely?

Desiring something that might kill you is insane yet the sacrifice table begins to look attractive. Zarblu is a big, strong, determined male who’s had a thousand, thousand years to contemplate life.

What if he isn’t quite the monster she thought he was…
What if he wants her to be his sacrifice?

Warning: This is a very graphic and carnal story for those who love the fantasy of being caught by a monster.
This is not the normal level of dark that Cari Silverwood writes. This is the dark you reach for when you’re all darked out and one step from seeing your therapist. Some of this story is FUN. Dark twisted fun, but fun nevertheless.

Prey by Cari Silverwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What did I just read this book was so strange; I have never quite experienced anything quite like it and that’s saying something as I’ve read a lot of weird and wonderful fiction. This is Monster Erotica; Yeh I kid you not, bloody Monster’s. And in “Prey (Dark Monster Fantasy #1” we are introduced to Lord Zarblu a Stoneshifter; who every decade has to take a willing female sacrifice on an altar of lust; to avoid petrifying for the next ten years and guess what he has a monster cock too and the sacrifice is going to need a lot of preparation to accommodate and avoid being ripped to shreds by Zarblu’s monster appendage; death by dick I’ve heard is not a very attractive way to go. The sacrifice herself Mila; mercenary, explorer and thief; a small female earthling is all gung-ho ready to rescue her sister from the Stoneshifters Altar and from the first instant Zarblu encounters the feisty earthling he wants to replace his current offering with this fascinating earthling; he’s just got to get her to cooperate; easy right. So Look; if you’re looking for some serious emotive fiction; this is not it; what we do have here is some Fun, hot completely ridiculous alien monster erotica; it’s surprisingly addictive and does what it says on the tin. this is a short read that I read in one sitting and I did quite enjoy it once I got over my initial; what the hell am I reading moment. Its sort of like a porno neverending story for adults. Sorry; I just couldn’t stop picturing the rock biter in that film as Lord Zarblus stone altar form; not very sexy and comfortable at all I would think; so swiftly moving on here from that non-sexy visual.

This short read was jam-packed with alien beings. talking swords, arena fights and a psychotic Android who really just needed to get laid. Its never going to win literature awards, but it was never meant to; what we have here is a big hot pile of tongue in cheek, steamy dub-con fun. It definitely won’t be for everyone, but I love weird so I kinda was digging its vibe all the same. Give it a go you might surprise yourself. Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Prey (Dark Monster Fantasy #1)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Ryze Series 1-2 by N. Isabelle Blanco
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Stars REVIEW COPY.

Release Date-24/5/18

So this is a re-release of book one and two in N. Isabelle Blanco’s fantastic Ryze series. It also has an additional bonus of the first ten chapters of “Blood Drenched Conquest” book three; and its worth buying for that fact alone. So I’ve broken this down into two separate camps; to give you more of an impression of where my thoughts were going with these two excellent stories. But really to me, this could easily read as one extra weighty action-packed volume of deliciousness just waiting to be devoured by the reader. On a side note, the cover art used for this particular series is gorgeous and would make me want to read it for that fact alone

so here goes.

Blood Flows Deep (Ryze #1)
Blood Flows Deep (Ryze #1) by N. Isabelle Blanco was a really great start to what is shaping up to be a fantastic new series. I’m not a newcomer to this author having previously read her Voyeur collaboration; which incidentally I adored. But this was so different to anything I expected, and I mean that in a completely positive way. This was just so imaginative and though I was expecting Ismini and Dyletri’s story here what we got was just so much more. Dyletri is the god of lust and Ismini; the female Dy has waited aeons for; not for his own but to sacrifice to the fates to bring back his lost love Diminthia. Well, that was never going to end well ay? So moving on here “Blood Flows Deep” was so rich in truly developed characters; who displayed such individualism and diversity it was an actual pleasure to experience. While this story was developing; the author was weaving such an intricate web; with so many overlaps and intricacies, it was truly a staggering feat. The only reason I didn’t rate this much higher was there were certain incidences in the fabric of this tale that were not to my taste; however this authors story welding skills; were truly a super-power and for that reason alone you need to read this. After this book, you will definitely need to soldier on regardless; it was like a compulsion to get to that fated finale. This is told from multiple POV; I usually can’t abide this at all; here I loved it; it just seemed to fit the author’s way of narrating. this truly was a pleasure to read and it was only some slight personal preferences that pulled this down.

Onwards and upwards to the next exciting, action-filled episode of this series.

Blood Stained Tranquility (Ryze, #2)
This was the second instalment in N. Isabelle Blanco’s “Ryze” series and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Starting immediately where we previously left off “Blood Stained Tranquility (Ryze, #2)” is everything its predecessor was and more. This slightly has the edge for me in terms of content; there wasn’t really much I didn’t like here, and if book one was a good read; this was a fabulous one. Here we have Evesse from book one and Zeniel; her new mate; who also happens to be the God of Tranquility along with something a little extra; almost like a two for one-er. Zeniel is battling his dual personality here and you really get such a feel for the agony he is currently enveloped in. This was such an emotional read; so much more so than the first book in this series. Don’t get me wrong; that had plenty of emotion too; this just takes it to a whole new level of meaning; I was transfixed throughout. As usual, the action here was off the hook, both in and out the bedroom. And yes, I’m speaking metaphorically here; the gods between these pages didn’t actually care where they fornicated and their antics were smoking hot with it. This is again told from multiple POV’s and adds; if it’s even possible; more new characters to an already overflowing cast. You would think this would be an issue; keeping straight all the multiple pathways and individuals; it’s not. This was actually really easy to follow along with despite the huge cast. Quite the story-weaver was our author. There is so much potential for story growth here that I’m mega excited to see where this goes.

This was a really fantastic imaginative read and I’m so looking forward to the next in the series.

Thank You to the Author for providing me with a review copy of “Ryze Series 1-2 ” of which I have reviewed voluntary. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

The Devil You Know – Ceasefire Series Book 1 by Claire Marta
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved “The Devil You Know” by Claire Marta.

From the minute I started reading this I was hooked. I’m a sucker for a dark depraved read and this one for me definitely hit the spot.

I do so adore me a twisted Heroine that struggles but eventually embraces her dark side and with Mavi StClaire we get this in spades.

She is one bad flower as the mysterious Max liked to call her. And this is one girl who makes no apologies for who she is and keeps her cards close to her chest, trying to keep everyone at arm’s length is in her very nature. And this includes the secretive but decadent Max.

As for the mysterious Max, loved him so much also, he himself comes enveloped in secrets and lies a matching bookend to match Mavi’s depravity and darkness a born manipulator who oozes sexual charisma and luckily for Mavi he likes his girls a touch on the psycho side.

I loved all many side characters portrayed here each and every one was a well rounded and diverse individual and there was also never a dull moment in regards to the action portrayed here this book was packed. A playground for heaven and hell, filled with battles and conflict galore. I’m being a bit Vague as I don’t want to spoil this, you just need to dive right in and immerse yourself in this violent and bloody world. so this felt fresh. In a sea of paranormal offerings, it came across as original and different making it really stand out in its genre. It also helped that “The Devil You Know” was all sorts of hot and sexy. With Plenty of appeal here to tempt a sinner or a saint. It had so many twists and turns that I never saw coming and it was fully ramped right up to its shocking finale. Totally gobsmacked at the ending and can’t wait for the next chapter of this addictive story. Enjoy. I was provided with an ARC of “The Devil You Know – Ceasefire Series Book 1 ” By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
