“One: Rage Vengeance Murder (A Path of Deception and Betrayal Book 3)” didn’t really do it for me sorry.
Not only did I find it difficult to connect with the characters it also had issues keeping my focus.
I think my main issue here was this was not quite what I was expecting from the initial blurb.
I don’t think I initially anticipated how heavily this leaned towards the thriller genre.
I was kinda expecting; well I’m not really sure but it wasn’t quite this.
I think I imagined that Azar was going to be a bit more kick-ass revenge chick; imagine Uma Thurman in “Kill Bill” and you’d be there and what I actually got was more; complete homicidal terrorist with a damn god complex.
I also struggled to keep up with the technical jargon and information dump and if I’m completely honest felt a bit lost within the narrative at times.
There was just too much going on overall for me to just relax and go with the flow here.
I also wasn’t a great fan of Mary; I know she was meant to be quirky but I just found her bloody irritating.
on the plus side even though I didn’t quite understand where Azar was coming from in regards to her world domination plan; it was hers and Marcello’s participation here that kept this ticking along for me.
Without there inclusion; I’m not sure I would have finished this.
So this wasn’t overall a good fit for me.
But that’s not to say it won’t be for you.
If you’re a thriller fan; this one is well written; with plenty of twists and turns it just wasn’t ultimately one for me.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “One: Rage Vengeance Murder (A Path of Deception and Betrayal Book 3) ” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
