She has no idea what she’s doing. Loose cannons never hit their targets.
And they take out plenty of collateral damage.
Four years ago Lindsay experienced the unspeakable right before me, and I couldn’t stop them.
But that’s all changed now.
When her father, Senator Bosworth, contacted me to ask — demand — that I protect her, it was a second chance. A shot at redemption.
An opportunity to right an unspeakable wrong.
Controlling Lindsay as she seeks her revenge on the monsters who hurt her won’t be hard.
Containing my own out-of-control feelings for Lindsay and keeping up this ruse of cold-blooded distance will be.
Even harder than admitting to her what really happened that night four years ago.
It turns out I don’t have to, though.
Someone else did it for me.
And I’ll make sure they regret it.

A Harmless Little Ruse is the second book in this political thriller/romantic suspense trilogy by USA Today bestselling author Meli Raine, and is entirely from Drew’s perspective.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
So here we have the second instalment A harmless Little Ruse (Harmless, #2) By Meli Raine.
I read this immediately upon finishing book one, I was that gripped by this story.
This begins directly where the first one ends and unlike the previous tale is told from Drew’s POV.
This was a major plus point for me for as I believe I mentioned in my previous review that even though I liked Lindsay there were certain times I still found myself getting slightly irritated at the girl’s choices.
So I found this a complete breath of fresh air in contrast and we also get the added bonus of understanding Drew much more.
Drew is brought fully into the spotlight here and we get to witness his inner thought process and understand in more depth the events of four years ago.
If I had to pick a favourite out of these two rating them both four stars this would so be it.
I found Lindsay Doubly irritating in “A Harmless little Ruse” as she seemed to be blowing hot and cold throughout.
I also struggled with how she wasn’t telling her parents to piss off in regards to her relationship with Drew.
She’s a bloody twenty-three-year-old Adult woman for christ sake!!!
Can’t believe she let them paint him in such a bad light with the media either.
Shaking my head in disbelief here girlfriend, what were you thinking, he loves you so much.
As for Drew, what I learned, well all I can say heartbreaking.
So This gets four stars all on the merits of Drew who I absolutely adore.
Lindsay herself can go suck eggs, I’m hoping she is able to redeem herself in book three.
I am crossing my fingers in hope, but not holding my breath considering her past behaviour your free pass from me has now expired my girl, get with the program.
So this ended on such a cliffhanger yet again and I so need to fast forward to see if the bad guys get there comeuppance in spades.
everything I can cross is crossed here.
Well on to book three for the conclusion to this addictive trilogy.
